I love me some Juice de Jamba, but I’ve really gotta be having a severe craving in order for me to shell out 5 bones for some blended fruit and sherbet.

I know Jamba is full of calories, but it tastes great on a hot day and it gives me an excuse to go take a break from my computer. I like going to the Stadium Village one better than the one that is located in Coffman. I always get excellent service at the one at Stadium Village. Some of the people at the Coffman location seem grumpy and I prefer a happy people(or at least people who pretend to be happy). Of the original flavors, I like the Strawberry Wild the best. The Acai Super Antioxidant is probably my favorite. For some reason, these frozen drinks make me feel like a kid again. Orange Juilius and the frozen drinks at Super America just don’t seem to do the trick. I still miss my Slurpees from 7 – 11, but these are second best.

Why, why, why do I go to Jamba Juice? Every time I go there, I end up spending nearly five bucks for some concoction that I find out later is 500 calories. I could put filet mignon and garlic mash potatoes in a blender and still had enough calories left over for dessert. For some reason there are two Jamba Juices on Washington Avenue within three blocks of one another. The service at the Stadium Village location is good, but they always play the music overly loud so they can hear it over the blenders. I think everyone who works there is probably a bit hearing impaired. Someone should call OSHA or something. If you like paying a lot for a super-high calorie mediocre smoothy then by all-means Jamba Juice is your joint. But better smoothies are to be had on campus: the little café at the rec center will do you a great one for less money. They have smoothies at Publika and Camdi and probably other places as well. I also prefer the Orange Julius on Washington Avenue to Jamba Juice, although at least part of that is nostalgia for my pre-teen mallrat years.
