A friend and I stopped at 12:30am for a nightcap. We ordered a glass of house wine and one drink $ 33! At 12:50 we asked for a second and were told that we had just made last call at 12:30. Oddly the gals sitting across the bar had all just received a glass of wine and two couples had come in minutes before and were served. I have been here several times and the staff makes me feel like I am lucky to be at their bar and served by them. Waited 10 minutes for the bartender to close my tab but he was to busy packing up his bar to do that.
Definitely enough places to go in the city that appreciate your business and treat you with respect.

The drinks were fresh and delicious! Prices are about $ 13 a drink. The atmosphere was very intimate. Loved the darker setting in the basement.

This bar has a Good environment but terrible service.
We waited for 20 minutes to just see a waitress.

A great secret hideaway to have an amazing cocktail and feel all tucked away in your private speakeasy… but the music needs help and the food situation was trying to hard. The DJ was playing the most random assortment that had no rhyme and reason. Distracting really. The bar menu needs some help. The confusing «dim sum style» menu isn’t working. And really, how about a no kid policy. It’s not rocket science parents. A toddler was running around the bar like it was romper room. Since parents don’t seem to be able to logically work through what’s appropriate, bars should really help them see the light.

We tried to go here last Saturday, but it was already full at 7pm, so we weren’t allowed in. So we tried again this Saturday around 7pm. This time the place was mostly empty so we were able to get a seat.
This spot is geared more towards groups –you aren’t allowed to sit at a booth unless you’re in a large group. Couples get the boring seats at the bar or along the wall by the bar.
The crowd is made up of mostly yuppies and old people celebrating their birthdays.
So funny to see such a preppy uptight crowd in a place that is designed to look so dark and cool. You would think you’d see somebody in black leather and a stylish mohawke somewhere, but everyone is pretty plain jane boring yuppie here.
Drinks are indeed fantastic and the oysters were amazing –really fresh! Quite a surprise that the drinks and food are so good, I was expecting them to mess up somehow.
Service is fast and professional. There’s definitely a slightly snooty hipster vibe with the hosts, waitress, servers, but that’s expected.
Nice to try out at least once at some point, but not really lusting to return here again immediately.

Love this place, will be back… as often as I can!

Before coming to this downstairs bar, my boyfriend and I ate at the restaurant upstairs. The bill was over inflated and disappointing. In attempts to ease that pain, my boyfriend needed a stiff drink, so we headed downstairs to Constantine. Before being able to order, the gal that was our waitress came to ask us if there was an issue, after the waiter from upstairs came to have my boyfriend re-​sign the receipt from dinner. She had mentioned to us his displeasure of gratuity, of which obviously he had spoken to her about. I was taken back by her asking us this and asked her if the two were the same business or under the same owner. She told me no but proceeded to say they were connected in the same hotel and she just wanted to make sure we were having a pleasurable experience and having a good night. Part of me thought it was a little unprofessional for her to ask us about the gratuity specifically. This gave us the impression she was worried about her own in serving us, rather than her actual concern of our experience. It must have just been the way she worded it though because she was extremely nice and a genuinely pleasant person. She even made comment to us about getting home safe, which I thought was very kind. Waters were brought to us right away when our waitress greeted us, which I appreciated since I always like to have water when I am having a drink. We ordered Hugo’s Eye which was delicious! They were playing good music and it was a nice setting. The bar looked clean and we had good service. The drinks were made quickly. Although I cannot speak on the food, I would recommend to try the drinks out. They had a few that seemed unique and sounded good in my own opinion. Oh and there was a crazy sized buck head on the wall that I still can’t get over. Thing was huge!

Great décor and atmosphere, but the service is ATROCIOUS. We went there to grab a drink while waiting for our reservation at Monello upstairs. We picked a booth right in front of the bartendar and received menus promptly. After that, we waited 10… 15 minutes and noone bothered to come up and get our order. We werent too busy in our conversation or sitting in a corner. Its not okay. After 20 mins we got up and left. Will never go back again.

Décor and servers are great. Very friendly and can lend advice on what you want. Came on thurs night, open, plenty of seating very cool furniture and sets the vibe.
Drinks were decent — smooth operator: solid, the Lestat de lion with all the crushed ice, looked out of place. I don’t nope if there is anything else around the area. Might be worth starting or ending your night here.
Overall would return.

I am in my 30s and not interested in hitting up the typical downtown bars that I did in my 20s.
I loved Marvel Bar when I tried it last year and Constantine reminds me of what I liked about Marvel.
The bartenders are attentive and friendly.
The drinks are amazing. I can’t remember the name of my drink, but it was the $hit! I would get it every time.
My husband and I rang in the New Year here and were served complimentary wine at midnight. We then ate cheeseburgers and all was right in the world.
The atmosphere was old school and the people watching was great.
I will be back.

Awesome atmosphere, great drinks. But watch your bill! Every person in our 8 person party got over charged for their drinks. When confronting the dude bartender (we were just trying to get our bill adjusted to the accurate price) he got super aggressive, crumpled the second bill of drinks up in our face, and pretended he was doing us a favor for accurately charging us.
Awesome place though! Just double check your prices and keep your bartender honest.

I think this place isn’t quite sure of who they are, but I love their drinks.
Here’s the reason I gave 4 stars and not less, like many others… I like coming here at 7pm on a weekday– sit at the bar, talk to the bartenders, have them make beautiful, delightful drinks. Sit in a beautiful environment.
If you’re a regular grown up, don’t ever come here on the weekend. Loud club music, douchebags, etc. I came in once and thought it was some kind of sick joke.
Please Constantine, keep it classy and cool. Change you’re music, stop with the DJ’s and strange bar food.

I just wanted to say thank you to Constantine for helping me with a birthday party. Since we are not able to make reservations, I went early to get a table for a group to celebrate a friends birthday. The door guy (my apologies for not remembering his name) was super helpful, and despite my chaotic requests, was very friendly. I had no way of knowing how many people were going to show up and they were very accommodating. Dee, our server, was patient and made us feel right at home! And she had an amazing personality that fit right in with our group!
I get really excited when I find a place that has Martin Miller gin, so obviously their martinis are worth the $ 12+!!! Thank you for an amazing night!!!

Nice, clean, new looking bar. Went with my gf for a single cocktail night just to get out of the house. The décor is surprisingly warm despite the dark nature. There is just something not right about this place though. First off, the music doesn’t fit the scene at all. Jay-​Z, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, etc. We didn’t go to eat, but took a glance at the menu anyways, extremely odd to see tater tots, $ 250 Foie Gras, and homemade pop-​tart all on the same menu. The cocktails were delicious, and priced as I would expect for such a thing, but overall, was kind of disappointed to have spent $ 30 on a pair of drinks that didn’t come with a standout experience.
Would be a good place to get a drink if you are staying in the hotel, but not sure I would make a point of going out of my way to stop here.

This bar has wonderful atmosphere and ambiance. But that’s all what I can say about this place unfortunately. They have bar food and it is real bar food. $ 5 cheeseburgers and fries served in paper plates… The cocktails are alright. The one I have tried was too sweet with too much ice. Probably I should give it another try but it is not conveniently located for bar hopping in downtown unless you are driving.

So I have been meaning to come here for a long time now. I must say I still can’t get over the décor, cocktails and service this place provided. Spectacular!
The place is located in the basement of Hotel Ivy. When you step in you could feel the darkest in the place. It kinds of reminds me of a vampire entering an underground church. Because it is dimly lit filled with churches designs and there is a podium inside this place. How cool is that! The space is great to hold a good crowd for any types of celebrations. My favorite room is the VIP and of course there is a big animal head mounted on the wall. Aside from that It has see through cabinets filled with Scotch and Whiskey.
They are known for their mixology. Specialty cocktails ranges from $ 8 to $ 12. My favorite one is Hypercillin, everyone must get that. It has a smoky taste. I was surprised it was in a tall glass because most of the times these special drinks are in short glass. Old Fashioned is great as well. Food is more bar type. Chicken wings, nachos and tator tots. That is why I am giving four stars because I’m not thrilled about the list.
Service was on the spot especially with a big group of us on a Saturday night. I was impressed with it. After having this amazing experienced I will be back for sure!

Vampires, bourgeoise, and hipsters oh my! I honestly don’t know how this place has gone so long without having it’s own Unilocal page. Shouldn’t be buried with Monello, as great as it is. Anyhow SEXY of the SEXY places here. Finally got to wander in here after much accolade and it was not disappointing. YES if you want to have a great time here it might set you back a few pretty pennies but PRETTY is the obvious word down here. If you want to know where Buffy and Angel would hang out (sorry if you don’t know who that is please attain a childhood or consult google) as adults for a quiet sexy time this would be it. Some corners are quite decadent and some can be loud but overall it’s a great atmosphere to talk and have a mind blowing conversation over a few drinks and food.
To be honest. I haven’t had much «solid» food here as the cocktails are really the shining point «the ardent spirits» as they were. The Foie Gras nachos that were ordered were… Ok. Not a huge connoisseur of foie gras but I assume it’s one of those things they put on the menu to seem fancier.
Cocktails. Literally every single fracking one was delicious. I know I should be more descriptive but dude, try it. Marvel bar is great! But unless you go right at the time between the blue moon and the ascent to the sky of the toy piglets with unicorns you cannot find a table there. Here? No problem. It’s nice if someone else is paying for you here too… But even if not have a ball and definitely worth a visit to get your vamp loving sexy on!
