Nick’s Tuscan Grill

Came here with a groupon, pleasant experience! Overall take: great Italian food place with reasonable prices. Would come back even without the groupon. It has all the classic dishes. We had the lasagna as recommended by some other Unilocalers and it was the bomb and the seafood pasta was also very good. Was too stuffed for dessert but will definitely come back!

Very good service, delicious options. We ordered a Steak and a Chicken dish, and of course dessert. We will be returning.

Came here about 4 – 5 times and all times the food was great. I like the ambiance of the restaurant. It is small and cozy. I found this place from groupon and I have suggested it to friends and they all have been back more than once. My favorite is the seafood arrabbiata. Great fried calamari and the artichoke francese appetizer. Only thing I have to say is it does take a little while for the food but it is worth it.

Went as a party of 6 and everyone loved their meals. Most of the dishes had a good sized proportion except for the lobster ravioli, which was on the small side. I ended up having a bit of my family’s food and getting dessert (although I’m not complaining about desert. Delicious!)

Called a little before 9 pm and asked if I could come in to use my groupon in a few minutes. Woman on the phone said sure, no problem, come in. Arrived a little after 9 pm, doors were locked and lights were off. Highly disappointed!!!

Food was really bad, very dry steak (didn’t have filet mignon on stock even though it was in the menu), the appetizer (crab cake was really imitation not real crab). i gave 3 stars for the waiter, he was really guy. I saw a groupon and i was looking for italian food and thought to give it a try but Will never come back.

Food, drinks and staff are all Marvelous! Don’t miss this delicious place. The short ribs are the best, the pizzas are great, the pasta dishes scrumptious.

This place is great. My bf and I have came here several times now & all around good experiences. We are always greatly by this woman with blonde hair & glasses (I think she’s a waitress/​manager) she remembers exactly who we are & she is great. She knows her stuff lol. We usually go on a slow night but we came here on a Friday night & they were busy but still took care of us. Which as anyone knows, is always nice on a busy night. We tried it out the 1^st time with groupon & they treated us normal. Anyone who has ever used groupon knows the place treats you bad once they see the groupon but not here ! We always leave a good tip though ! All the workers are hard working & you can clearly see them moving while you’re there. It’s a small place but the food & customer service is nice. We will keep coming back, thumbs up

Found this on Groupon originally looking for a good deal and a new place. Of course I had to check the Unilocal reviews to see how it stands up to the rest. I’m surprised at the level of stars!
I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and had been approached very quickly to be seated. The waiter was very attentive and we were served drinks and delicious fresh bread right away.
If you get there at a time when there are some very comfortable chairs by the wall I do recommend those!
The food was absolutely delicious! I had an organic stuffed chicken that was so juicy and perfectly even with its filling of mozzarella, red peppers and prosciutto. It usually comes with mushrooms in it but I opted out of them.
We also got mussels as a special appetizer with spinach and prosciutto in a cream sauce that was amazing!
They closed at 10 but we didn’t finish until a bit after and we felt like we weren’t rushed at all!
I’d definitely go back — plus check in and get a free glass of wine!

Possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had.
Went there on a Sunday night, wanted to try their restaurant as I live in the immediate area. Never heard anything wrong with it but I should’ve realized why it’s usually empty every time I pass by.
My boyfriend and I walked in, and waited almost 10 min for the older woman at the hostess desk to even look up and acknowledge us. She was writing on reservations in their book but the restaurant was fairly empty and there was no one else waiting to be seated by us and if you’ve ever been inside the place and seen how small it is, we were literally standing IN FRONT of her at the hostess desk lol. And she still was not doing her job to be aware of customers. Whatever I let it go and even joked «it’s ok you were in the zone». We get seated she put us at a 4 top which was nice of her since we were only 2 people.
Here’s where it went downhill fast. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. I’m not kidding. 1.5 hours. The food was pasta dishes, why did it take that long when every other table had their entrees and the kitchen was no where near slammed. I tried every excuse to understand and give them the benefit of the doubt. Finally the food comes out, they already knew they messed up bc without us even mentioning anything they kept saying «sorry for the wait, everything made from scratch» ok. fine at least I can eat now.
I ORDERED LOBSTER RAVIOLI IN A TOMATO SAUCE. I look at it and there bacon all throughout. Because of my religious beliefs I cannot consume pork. Which is why I ordered lobster ravioli in a tomato sauce. I immediately thought I must not have read the menu right, so I asked our waitress for the menu. No where on it does it say it contains bacon or pork or anything except «lobster ravioli in a tomato sauce». I tell the waitress, she checks the menu, says oh I’ll be right back. Comes out and says there’s only lobster in it so I hold up the bacon and she say «That’s tomato pieces» so I give her the plate to look closer and she says omg, ok hold on. Comes back and says they’ll make u another. I said is it gna take another hour? She says no they can make it in 5 min don’t worry. That really pissed me off and I said so why did we wait that long the first time, I don’t want anything it’s fine not your fault but I won’t be ordering anything else.
They didn’t comp anything, the manager didn’t come to apologize, she threw the nil on the table haphazardly and said «…thanks for coming have a good night» on her way passedddddd the table. Didn’t even stop to do it, just passed by and mumbled it. Now I reallllyy didn’t want to tip her bc of her lack of service or effort to correct anything. But I did because that’s how they make money and I’m not petty. But I will never go there again and will advise all my coworkers and family to stay away too. Really tasteless and poor service.
TERRIBLE FOOD (my boyfriends entrée was so bland except for salt salt and more salt so we got it packed and we threw it out outside)
I don’t wana give ANY stars. Save your money and go to Elsewhere. Literally anywhere else.

He made his best attempt to rectify our bad experience. Invited us back for two complimentary dinners as a means of reconciliation. While the attempt was appreciated and the service was more attentive this time around, the food was still subpar. It was nice of them to reach out and try to fix what happened and that’s what I appreciated. You can’t please everyone but they made an attempt to fix things even if it didn’t pan out well… again. Give the place a try, and get your own opinion but I won’t be returning.

Went to dinner on a Saturday night with my wife and 2 daughters. Made reservations for 6:30 a few hours before with no problem. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. The décor seemed to be cozy but a little tight especially since we were seated next to a party of 10. The hostess gave us a warm greeting but our server Kim was not as friendly, she was efficient and at first we felt a little rushed but then feeling rushed faded away. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine each. She had the Santa Marina Pinot and I had the J. Lohr Chardonnay. My wife’s Pinot was good because she had it before but my Chardonnay was just ok. I like that oaky buttery flavor but this didn’t have that. It’s a matter of taste. Our children just had soda.
Then we ordered our dinner, my older daughter and I ordered the Rigatoni Florentine, my wife had the Baked Seafood Lasagna and my younger daughter had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. All the food came out hot and all were very good with healthy portions. Three of us brought home leftovers and had it the next day.
To sum it up the food and service was very good, however our server could have been a little more friendly. Also they were filling our glasses with water at first, then they seemed to have forgotten about us and never saw the busboy come back to fill our glasses. So I’m giving them 4 stars for good food but the atmosphere could have been more inviting.

Came here with my family for dinner the other night and we all really enjoyed our food. I ordered the stuffed shrimp w Parmesan risotto (delicious!), my parents got the Bronzino, brother ordered one of the steaks, and my sister had a salad. Just beware if you’re coming on a Saturday night, it gets very packed and you’re more than likely going to have to wait an extra 20 – 30 min. When ordering our food, we decided to order more appetizers a little while after we had ordered an original set of apps — the 2^nd set of apps took a while to come out. They actually came out with our entrees which was weird because we only ordered an extra soup and shrimp cocktail. The waitress was very accommodating though, she knew those appetizers took a very long time to come out and took it off our bill for us. I believe her name was Lynn. Overall, we had a good experience here and would definitely go back.

I had the most delicious lobster bisque soup for lunch yesterday which was three days in the making. I have lunch here two or three times a week and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent

My girlfriend and I took advantage of a groupon deal and decided to give Nick’s a try. First, they start you with fresh bread and bruschetta for the table. A nice way to mull over the menu.
We ordered the Neapolitan pizzette as an appetizer. It has a very thin crust which I was weary about when it first arrived at the table, but the sauce and cheese were very flavorful and a great warmup to wake up the stomach.
Being that we had such a large value coupon toward the bill, I ordered the Filet Di Manzo Con Brandy. It was two bacon wrapped filet mignon medallions with melted mozzarella cheese atop and finished with a brandy cream sauce. The steak was very tender and cooked to a perfect medium-​rare. Now usually sides are something that I work my way towards if I have the room to spare. Let’s just say that the mushroom risotto soaked up the succulent sauce and it had me wishing I had a second stomach. Thank god for doggy bags, because I just couldn’t live with myself if I threw it away.
If based solely upon the food, I would have given 5 stars. Unfortunately it is a small place making waiting to be seated very uncomfortable and deterring. Also some of the menu items are priced a bit high. But all in all a very pleasant experience and would return with a reservation.

We found Nick Tuscan Grille online well we were searching for a place to eat for dinner. The staff was amazing and the place was clean. We ordered oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer which was out of this world then we got the short rib and ribeye steak with crumbled Gorgonzola cheese. The short ribs were moist and came with a delicious sauce well the steak was asked to be cooked medium and it was cooks to a perfect media. They were very accommodating and we will deathly be going again! This is a great date night spot.

Made a reservation for 2, at 5 on Saturday. quickly seated and served with water and bread. We used groupon to order bucatini carbonara, buffalo chicken pizza and filet mignon. Overall, food was pretty good and service was excellent.
When we came in at 5, there was only one table of customers but by the time we left, it was getting crowded.
Oh yeah, free parking available behind the restaurant during weekends and holidays :) Would come back again!

A group of seven of us came here to celebrate a birthday tonight. It took over 15 minutes for the waitress to come to the table. The bread was stale so we asked for new bread — they brought us bread which was more stale. We asked for another bread (yes we were pushing it) and they said they ran out of bread for the night. The bruschetta had WAY too much balsamic in it. It took us 35 minutes to get our food. I played it safe and got the pesto chicken dish which was bland & mediocre. There was more cream than pesto and the pine nuts hadn’t been blended. The eggplant rollatini had cheese on it which wasn’t fresh. The sole had bones in it. The Bronzino smelled fishy and needed a vegetable. The risotto which came with the lemon chicken was not risotto — it was rice; however, the chicken was very good. The best meals were the pizza and the steak. Ultimate conclusion — food is mediocre. It would be in their best interest to pick a single cuisine & shorten the menu and focus on those.
Now for the service… Waitress came to our table twice. It took half an hour to have our water checked on. Two people came in and there was no hostess to seat them & they waited for at least ten minutes. The manager was very nice and apologized for the loud environment (packed on a Thursday which is a good sign). They’re definitely in need of more attentive staff & a hostess to be by the front at all times.

Steak was perfect.
Chicken Franchese was mouth watering.
Mozzarella excellent snack.
Calimari and shrimp salad again PERFECT.
Every time we come to eat the service and the food is EXCELLENT!!!
No one flavor over powered another. The steak was erfect on it’s own and the snap peas and potatos just complemented it.
Chicken Franchese was also so light and delicious.
Alex was on top of everything always checking in to see if we needed anything without being pushy.
The nicest part is seeing Nick, the owner again and his suggestions are always right on the money. A meal well worth it and absolutely delicious.

My family came here for Father’s Day dinner tonight and we had a great experience. Carol was our server and she was super attentive and sweet. She was able to answer all of our questions and expertly chose house made pasta for my sister’s dish, as she was undecided. The place was quiet enough that we were able to have conversation at a comfortable tone of voice.
Food was delicious, the bread and water kept coming, and the owner (Nick) was so gracious to have us that he sent over two free desserts at the end of our meal.
All of those in my party really enjoyed their meals. Collectively we had the fried calamari, baked seafood lasagna, lobster ravioli, chicken piccata, and a dish that has a medley of seafood over pasta, crème brûlée cheesecake, two cannolis, and a chocolate mousse cake.
This place has very hospital staff and great food. I would definitely return. Also, this restaurant often has Groupon deals!

I’m still not sure what this is supposed to be, a steakhouse? An Italian restaurant? A Bar? This is actually their second location. Its now located on a busy main road, they moved close to the Mineola LIRR station after Superstorm Sandy.
I came in and wanted a steak. They wanted to load it up with Crispy onion toppings as well as Gorganzola. I asked my waiter to tell the chef to keep the onion topping off and the Gorganzola to a minimum and on the side.
What a belly bomb mess.
Nothing else to report. I came after work, found this place and never will return.
