When I visited Harbor Pointe to view their model townhouse, I was happy with what I saw. A freshly updated 2 story townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. It had a small kitchen and dining area, but I was won over by the closed-in private yard area just off the living room. I decided to sign a lease with them. On the day I received my keys to move in, I was blown away with the bait and switch I experienced. My unit was not updated, had a terrible looking kitchen with ancient appliances, and worst of all, no closed-in yard. When I called the office to talk to them about these issues, I was told that«Not all townhouses are exactly like the model.» Okay, I understand that maybe carpet color or tile color or the blinds may differ, but I was shown a townhouse with a closed-in yard. My unit had nothing of the sort. This is the definition of bait and switch. Insult to injury: After more than a year of living in my unit and putting up with a near break-in, loud neighbors, ant problems, and kids playing basketball in my parking space, I finally had enough when the neighbor kids almost destroyed my potted plant and lattice fence. I wrote a negative, but completely fair and honest review on . The next day, I received a letter from management slipped under my door. It denounced my review and also told me that I needed to take down my lattice fence. The same lattice fence that I was told by management that I COULD put up, just a year earlier. Needless to say, we moved out as soon as our lease was up.
