Imagine if you can, a place stuck in time. A time when fathers would regale their sons with stories of fighter aces or hot rodders, all while sitting around a table placing pieces of plastic and glue– creating memories and masterpieces. Building scale models of P-38’s or 68 mustangs. Kids would spend weeks building balsa airplanes, slowly winding a stout rubber band, and launching it into the sky– only to have it crash land seconds later. You– Yes YOU can relive this time– walk through the doors– and introduce yourself to a new hobby. Most hobby stores are focusing on drones and other RC type stuff– say you want to build a 1⁄48 B-17? You MIGHT find it at the chains– but you WILL find it at Happy Hobby– several options, several makers, even from companies that no longer exist! I scored a balsa S.E.5a for 20 bucks– 22″ wingspan– made in USA years ago– by a company long gone. It may take 6 months– but I’ll finish it– and promptly crash it into the middle of 6th and Wisconsin– Hobby on!
