He helped me get as much use from my old vehicle as possible, suggesting only necessary repairs, which he always did at a fair price. When ready to retire that one, he sold me the perfect used vehicle, at a great price!

I won’t take my car to anyone else now. First Rate has great customer service and always gives the best price. Joe Hamdan, the owner/​manager of First Rate, is genuinely a good person who cares about his customers. When my old car finally kicked the bucket, I bought a car from him and the experience could not have gone smoother. If you’re looking for a good, reliable, honest mechanic, look no further.

How does this place have no reviews? Long story short, after heading to MIlwaukee for Summerfest and originally only planning on staying for one night we got stranded in a parking garage after my car wouldn’t start when we were trying to head home. They sent a truck out right away to get the car and took us down to the shop, where they inspected it right away to identify the problem. They couldn’t have been nicer about everything, and they got us out of there as soon as they could once the part came in. With so many scam artists in car sales and repair it was great to encounter genuinely nice people who get the job done at a fair price without any hassle.

If I could give this shop 0 stars I would. Absolutely horrible experience. Firstly, the only reason that I allowed this shop to do my repairs was because they were the closest towing company to where my car broke down. They called me the day after my car was towed and told me my engine blew and my car was «trash» (extremely bad «bedside manner»). Because I am a college student, and don’t have money to buy a new car, I decided to put in a new engine. They gave me a quote that was nearly three times the quote that I was given in my hometown (which doesn’t help because it is 3 hours away, but it was something to compare their price to), and over $ 1,000 more than a quote I was given in Milwaukee. After finding someone who would do the work for cheaper, I called them and told them I was taking my business somewhere else. They immediately cut down their price to *nearly* match the other quote that I was given, and they promised that they could get the car to me in 5 days. It was all a nightmare from here. –It took them 2 weeks to get my car back to me, no phone calls to update me –They ended up finding little details that were wrong with my car and fixing them WITHOUT CALLING AND ASKING ME FIRST, which jacked my price up to the original quote that they gave me (the car is older, of course it will have a few issues) –I had to return my car at least 7 times to them, it took them 4 times of returning the car for them to realize that part of the new engine that they had installed in my car was cracked, and they ended up charging me another $ 400 for their mistake –Overall poor customer service, extremely expensive prices, shotty work, and general unfairness My last experience with this shop was about 2 weeks ago when my «check engine» light came on again, I had to take it in. They looked at it, told me there was nothing wrong with the car, and sent me on my way. Three days later I went to start my car and go to work and my car would not even start at all. $ 4,000 and three months later and I still do not have a working car. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS SHOP. They might seem nice, like they’re going to give you a deal, but they WILL screw you over. I’ve contemplated filing a report with BBB, or even calling a local television station to reveal this horrible business, so PLEASE do not take your business here. You will be horribly disappointed.
