Al’s is amazing. The cheesesteaks are incredible, the pizza is great, the Tom Turkey is a must have, and the Italian is the BEST. However, the best part is the service. Being greated by Al, Chris, and their staff and helped is any way needed is the norm. If you want great food, and great service from honest local people, you have to go to Al’s

Would do 4.5 stars if possible. Panini were delicious, meatball sub also excellent. Cazzaboli was ENORMOUS and delicious, prices all very reasonable and portions were large. Only complaint would be additional ingredients on food that weren’t listed on the menu, ex: olives and whole pine nuts on Godfather panini as part of what is listed as «sundried tomato pesto» and lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, peppers on Cazzaboli but not listed as ingredients in Italian sub. Would definitely go back, ready in 20 min just confirm ingredients if you are picky.

This is I feel one of the best place to get subs & pizza in the Bethany area. The steak & cheese are delicious, thin slices steak with lots of toppings of your choice(I love their sweet peppers). My friends meatball sub looked delish & he said that the meatballs were juicy & not dry or bland. The cheese pizza looked pretty average — not great not bad but better than Grottos any day. The Italian sub looked good too — lots of gorgeous Italian ham & cheese on a yummy sub roll. I also hear their Tom Turkey is better than Capriotti’s!

This place is beyond ridiculous. The food is authentic as it gets, the subs are PACKED with meat. Everything is so flavorful the bread is on point! If I dropped one of these subs on the floor I would scoop it back up and eat it.

Good pizza and tasty steak subs. Wish they delivered, but worth the drive from our beach house. Love their french fries — the batter they are cooked in is very yummy. I’ve never dined in, only carried out.

Good local place for subs although not quite as good as Capriotti’s a bit east of here. The pizza is so-so but they will make one without cheese. The smell of old fryer oil is a bit overwhelming to us but some people actually like that. We get our food to go. Oddly they are closed on Sundays and thus missing all those DC tourists enroute back home. Great location nonetheless.

The kids were craving pizza and Italian combos sandwiches. We ordered a large pie, half pepperoni, half plain, along with an Italian combo hoagie with prosciutto. The sandwich was HUGE, but it was delicious. My husband and 2 young sons shared it and everyone wanted more. I also ordered a Greek salad, which was basically a lot of lettuce and tomatoes with some olives, cucumbers, and lots of feta. The dressing was good. The salad was a very large portion, as well. You get your money’s worth!

Casapullas serves up one of the best panini sandwiches I’ve had anywhere. Don’t be fooled by its unassuming, dimly lit kitchen and the scruffy dudes behind the counter. This joint rocks out some good carry out. The secret is the ciabatta bread. The crust is super crispy but not chewy at all — you bite through it easily. This is the kind of bread that makes me feel good to be alive, and in this Unilocalers humble opinion it’s getting harder and harder to find. Be prepared to wait a few minutes to pick up your order. Casapullas is definitely on lower slower Delaware time. But worth the wait for sure. Btw casapullas is closed on Sundays. Can you say old school? It’s that lower slower thing again. But heck even God took Sunday off. So just prime your taste buds for the other six days of the week.

We’ve been looking for a weeknight dinner spot for good, quick food that serves beer and wine and we’ve finally found it. We have the pizza and antipasto salad, both were good and enough to take home for lunch.

We ordered 3 slices of pizza, a side salad, and drinks. The drinks took 15 minutes. When the waitress brought out the salad 20 – 25 minutes after we ordered, she informed us they ran out of all pizza. I thought she was kidding but apparently was not. She said we could order subs, but I declined and went down the street to Subway(had my sub in 4 minutes). We will not be going back. In all my years of eating pizza at a «Pizza Restaurant», I’ve never heard of any place running out of pizza(especially 25 minutes after we ordered).

Good food at a very reasonable price. I recommend their pizza fries and Stromboli. More of a take out place, wait staff is not the friendliest and the notice level is very loud

Been back a bunch of times now and the review stands! 5 stars all the way. New favorite is the pizza steak. Out of this world. New favorite beach take out that I can’t wait to get when we get down here.

I’ve been vacationing here every year for the past 6 years from New York and have not only been unable to find good pizza, but I haven’t even been able to find edible pizza. This is the first time that I’ve gotten actually good pizza since I’ve started coming here. Best pizza in Bethany, hands down. My search is over.

Been there when it was good. Been there when it was bad. The place is hit or miss. At their best, it’s OK. It’s an average pizza and sub place. You can get in and out quickly and the portions are pretty good. Not a bad value, but there are places like this all over the area. They don’t do much to stand out from the others. Subs are usually stuffed full, but the pizza is mediocre. Recommend carry out.

While I believe they are known for their Italian Sub got the Pizza Steak and boy was it awesome. I always struggle to find places who can make a Quality Cheese steak comparable to a true authentic philly steak. It always begins with the roll. Soft, Fresh & tasty I couldn’t have asked for better. Your not getting minute steak here either its good quality shaved sirloin steak. The sauce had a good taste to it and plenty of cheese to satisfy my needs. I’ll be back

Holy cow! The biggest Sub/Grinder I have ever eaten. The Italian«sub» had tons of meat, cheese and veggies on it. The bun was slightly crispy, but fluffy. Totally unexpected from a chain restaurant.

If you’re in the mood for some quality Italian take-out…you have to come here. I usually don’t like paninis since they are generally very heavy and not at all fresh, but at Al Casapulla, it’s different. I had the«Suprimo»(fresh mozzarella, proscuitto, roasted peppers, tomato, fresh basil and pesto spread). It was utterly fantastic. I like three hours away and I have thought about driving there just to get one(let’s be honest, probably three). It’s served on a nice ciabatta that is crispy but soft on the inside. I’ve heard their pizza is pretty good, but really just get a panini. You can thank me when you leave. Al Casapulla has reasonable prices, fresh food and amazing people. What more can you ask for?

Their pizza is somewhat of a side note when talking about Al Casapulla’s place. The main attraction here are the subs: their Italian sub is by far the King of Subs in Southern Delaware. If you’re willing to pony up an additional $ 0.25, you can also add some fresh prosciutto to it, which totally makes the sandwich. Their sides are also fairly priced with quite a generous portion for every dish offered. It’s a little tucked out of the way along DE-26, but well worth the trip. It’s not overly large inside, so make sure you either get there early or that you’re willing to take out(and it can get a bit hot because of the size of their kitchen — it tends to overwhelm the AC).
