History

Established in 1943.

The Uno story began in Chicago in 1943 when Ike Sewell developed the first deep dish pizza and opened a new type of restaurant at the corner of Ohio and Wabash. His recipe combined buttery, handmade crust that had a tall edge like a fruit pie with layers of cheese, tomato sauce, fresh toppings and a blend of authentic Italian spices. After being baked for nearly an hour, it tasted unlike anything that had been served before. Everyone who tried it fell in love with the rich, bold flavor and the lines have been forming out the door ever since.

Service and atmosphere good, but apparently you have to have drinks the Uno way or not at all. They have Proseco, a sparkling wine that’s usually served in a champagne glass. But they use it here in a mixed drink. They say they don’t serve it plain. So, when we want a Proseco, we’ll go somewhere else. Not smart Uno.

This is for takeout– we called, they said ½ hour. We get there ½ hour later– an wait for another 20 minutes. LAME!

The staff at this location was great and very professional, the food on the other hand was horrible, besides the pizza everything we had was clearly frozen food, boneless buffalo wings-over battered frozen balls of chicken, the fish and chips were most likely gortons brand filets, very disappointed, just tells me yo stay away from chains and go to privately owned restaurants

Bad food. Bad service. Sent my steak back because it was overcooked… It came back overcooked again. I had to eat it because I was running late for a movie. Manager shrugged and walked away. Paid full price for meal. Left unhappy.

worst experience ever! waiter didn’t write anything down which led to never receiving app, order was wrong, and the waiter was no where to be found when trying to get the check. Finally had to go find someone to pay the bill… no wonder Uno’s is slowly going out of business

Pleasantly surprised at how great our evening was here the other night. My boyfriend and I were seated at a large table in the bar area. We had a great server who kept our drinks coming while our other dinner guests were stuck in traffic. She wasn’t annoyed our friends were late.
On to dinner! We did the create your own pizza. Grilled veggies, artichokes, and extra cheese. It was so filling, We took half of the pizza home. Our friends enjoyed their rattlesnake pasta, wings, and chicken parm.
Drinks were a little pricey, but service and food was great. Not bad for a busy chain! We will return again.

I met up with a friend here for dinner. We sat in a booth in the bar area. We had a really good waiter he took our orders gave us our refills but also let us have our girl time to chat. For a chain restaurant I always really enjoy UNOs dishes and they do have some good drinks. Def would return and recommend.

Gross. That sums up my first and only experience to this place which tries hard to call itself a restaurant. If you like re-heated tasting, stale food and hair in said food, than this is the place for you! If you like looking at dirty tables that haven’t been cleaned since you sat down, then this is also the place for you. Crispy chicken salad was soggy with a side of stale breadstick and pizza dough on the pepperoni flatbread tasted of freezer burn. The person who called himself the manager and gave the excuse that «ya know, it’s staticky and there’s hair in the air.» Seriously gross. Check your food when it comes out if you HAVE to come to this establishment, or better yet, go anywhere else instead

Ok, I think the food at UNO’s is great, but I came last week and there was a hair in my food. No big deal, I just told them and they got me a new plate and paid for the meal. However, I just came back with my kids and my son ordered the kids pizza. He told me he found a hair, now I never told him about my experience. He didn’t show me the hair so I dismissed it thinking it was maybe cheese. Then he found another one but of course discarded it before I saw it. So I told him if he finds another one I need to see it. So sure enough I see him pulling another one out from the pizza… third hair!!! What the!?! That is so gross.

The food is typical of all these restaurant chains. The servers at this location make me very uncomfortable by openly verbalizing all the catty tension between employees. A little professionalism goes a long way in making the public trust you with preparing our food. If there’s no surface respect for coworkers I have to wonder about how great of care is taken when handling what I’m about to eat, cause I’m sure they dont care about me either.

I LOVE Uno’s. This is probably my favorite chain restaurant ever. I’m never unhappy with the food, and the service is almost always spot on (everyone gets a bland waitress every now and then). This is my family’s go to restaurant, and I love going there on dates. The only downside is that it is a bit expensive, but totally worth it every now and then. I love the food and the atmosphere on weekend nights is very fun and easy going.

I ordered a regular cheese and tomato pizza for my wife and my self. When the pizza came to our table the cheese and the dough was not fully cooked. The dough just beneath the cheese was barely warm. We sent the pizza back and then received the same pizza which was a little warmer but still not fully cooked. I didn’t think cooking a cheese pizza was soooo difficult.

We were pleasantly surprised by our recent dinner at Uno’s. Our 7 year old birthday boy requested the venue much to our surprise. It just happened to be «kids eat free night» and they had a kid crafting table. YAY!
We started with drinks, a Sam Adams for Mr Bethany and a Southside Lemonade for me. I’m a sucker for Hendricks. The kids did the MYOP thing (Make Your Own Pizza). Mr B had the chicken parm as he is so want to do. I tried the small plate version of their new cavatappi with spinach and mushrooms. It was delicious. Surprisingly delicious!
The kids loved their pizzas. (Incidentally the pizza sauce has more flavor than the marinara. they need to rework that).
Our server, Sarah, was polite and efficient, but needs to speak up… it’s loud in here :)

It’s a nice change of pace from the traditonal new york pizzeria/Italian restaurants. I prefer Neapolitan but it’s nice to switch it up every now and then. This particular location has excellent service and the hostess was stunning.

The shrimp, spinach and goat cheese pizza was delicious. It has a pesto base, with lots of spinach and medium spiral shrimp. Very nice meal. It was medium in size.
The rattlesnake pasta was not on the spicy this time. In the past it was better. Large chunks of chicken.
The lobster and shrimp pasts was filled with lots of lobster. There were only 2 – 3 shrimp but large.
The mega size sundae is just that. Large enough for 6 people. It was served in a medium deep dish pan. The cookie was the entire size– 10 inches. Tit had 2 scoops of ice cream and whip cream. Very good.

Super FAST service tonight! Wow! Food was excellent. The vegetables looked amazing. I love the Shrimp Scampi. When I order it, I request that the chef chop off the flippers. They always take care of me. Thank you Uno for the flipperless shrimp! Such a great night! Don’t forget to ask about your discount movie tickets when you go!

Came here with my brother and his wife.
The food was excellent. I ordered an individual classid pizza; I think my brother ordered a lobster something, and my sister-in-law ordered a salad. All came out very well.
The service was good, but my complaint is the waiter had a very detailed descriptive of how she kills a fish or something. It was a bit much to hear DURING dinner.
Otherwise, good experience, I would still recommend it.
