The Westin San Francisco Airport

Stay was fine. One complaint: When two women walk up to the reception and have booked a king bed room, it is very rude, ignorant and unaware to say: we only have rooms with 2 queens, but that would BE BETTER for you two anyway. No assumption or pre-​judgment should be made on a guest’s sleeping situation/​preference when we walk up to the front desk. We live in a world where partners need to be treated equally regardless of gender identity or your pre-​conceived notions of who should sleep in the same bed. Please do not be disrespectful in the future.

This has been the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We booked room for 5 people with expectation of having a roll away bed that we were denied at check in. My daughter is sleeping on the floor tonight because they can’t make it right. This is ridiculous and will never stay here again and never recommend anyone here. I have had better service for a 100 a night hotel. I did leave out that she gave us free breakfast for the family. Not sure that makes up for daughter sleeping on floor. They didn’t even offer to upgrade room to accommodate 5. Most hotels have suites that will have room for 5. Guess that wasn’t a option. Thanks for nothing.

Staying the night here and have come across so many issues. While the staff was very friendly and helpful, shortcomings in the room have led to the one star. The noise was like none other. On a previous trip, we stayed at the hotel next door (would have again if not for cat) and it was not nearly as noisy. Not just airplane noise, but guests! I would have asked for another room, however, my baby was already down for the night, and parents know the golden rule. In addition, the fridge was extremely small and not very cold. The toilet did not flush well (I had to hold handle down for at least 30 seconds for it to go). Oh! And they charge $ 25 for parking! Guess what! The night isn’t even through. We’ll see how it goes. My opinion so far… Don’t stay here!

This hotel is very nice and the rooms are very pretty and comfortable. I stayed in one of the executive suites and it was very large, spacious, and inviting! The view of the water was very nice. It took a while for some items to get to the room as we needed them in preparation for an event, but they responded after a second request. I am toggling between 3.5−4 stars because we had a great experience at the wedding reception at the hotel!
I had attended a wedding reception here and it was beautifully done and the space was just perfect for a size of 100 – 120 people. The location is great and parking is very easy.

A-​OK for me!
Minutes away from San Francisco International Airport. Meaning you are able to hear the take off and landing of all the airplanes. I was ok with it because I’m a heavy sleeper, but the hubby on the other hand was a little bothered at night.
The outside doesn’t at all look as nice in the pictures as it does in person. Some what outdated. The inside, on the other hand, is very nice. Clean, modern, spacious, nice and welcoming waiting/​front desk area.
There’s a little shop to buy toiletries to the left of check-​in, a coffee shop to your right and a restaurant to your left when you enter.
There’s an indoor pool and nice equipped gym!
The gym was actually my favorite part of the whole hotel!
Looks super brand new! Lots of equipment to use, from ellipticals, treadmills, a couple bicycles, and a nice weight rack, also some of those big yoga balls. Every equipment is replenished with a water bottle, towel, and reusuable, new earphones!
The staff were really friendly and helpful!
Overall a good stay for the weekend we were here!
I would say if you’re trying to do all the touristy stuff — maybe stay closer to the city, because Millbrae is pretty far.
BUT there is a BART station 5 minutes away from the hotel, super cheap and affordable. Only thing is you’re coming from one end of the ride so you do happen to stop at every single stop until reaching the city, about 8 – 10 stops as far as I can remember.

Must admit that this was one of the more pleasurable experiences at a hotel chain I’ve ever had. To start things off, our initial concierge hostess Jacqueline was awesome! She took care of us when we came rolling in at an awkward hour and did not treat us like we were just a number in a box. She totally took care of my wife and I and made the check in process so comfortable and easy. Our room was very decent. We didn’t have the best view, but we didn’t plan on spending much time in the room so it didn’t matter.
Drinks were awesome. Food was delicious. Definitely would recommend to anyone coming into town.

This place would be great except for the horrid customer service, or complete lack thereof. The mid-​morning bartender wouldn’t serve me a Coke. «Well», she said looking me up and down «cokes here are $ 3.50 for 18 ounces… The front desk has them for only $ 2», and she proceeded to shoo me away with her arms while pointing out front desk. Maybe she thought I couldn’t afford $ 3.50 for a soda, and that I didn’t want my soda over ice, and in a glass. So fine, I decided not to get a drink at all. Besides maybe she was trying to do me a favor, I am overweight after all. But that one wasn’t that bad, maybe even a little funny.
However, there was the lady at the front desk after checkout, which was hands down, the rudest I’ve EVER been treated by anyone in the service industry.
Upon realizing that our parking pass was still in the room we just checked out of, I went to the front desk seeking assistance, with my children, ages 2 and 5 years old in tow. She confirmed that I reported the correct guest name and room number for our stay. And yet assumed that it would be useless for me to go get the parking card. She insisted that I needed to pay $ 25 for an overnight parking card so that we could leave. But that was the thing… We DIDN’T park there overnight. The parking card was for visitors who came to pick us up from the hotel, and had been parked there for less than 2 hours.
I attempted to explain, but she rudely cut me off, and scolded me like I was the one who wasn’t listening: «I SAAAAAID, YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY $ 25 — YOU CAN PAY ME DOWN HERE NOW», and she said it slowly as if I didn’t understand English. So I paused to let it be clear that I heard and understood her, and again tried to explain. But not even two words into it, she cuts me off again and repeated what she said, this time with an eye roll, and a scowl on her face. Again, I pause, and I wait. But before I get a chance to finish my fist word, she cuts me off yet again and repeated, «it will be $ 25 dollars, you need to pay $ 25, SIR!!» This time not even looking at me, but pretending to be busy with more important tasks, a voice full of disdain.
At this point I’m starting to unravel… and utter «$ 25 dollars?!? because you won’t let me in the room to get my other ticket?»
«Yes, $ 25» was her retort.
So I take out $ 40 and throw it down on the counter. «Whatever, it’s easier than dealing with all of this. Here, you owe me $ 15!»
«What!!!» she asked, trying to sound like SHE was the one who was offended.
«You said I need to pay you $ 25. Here is $ 40, you owe me $ 15!!»
She wrung up the till, handed me my change, while shaking her head in disdain. She then printed the $ 25 overnight parking ticket, for 2 hours worth of parking, and handed it to me.
While she was handing me my parking pass, clearly satisfied that she had already gotten the much needed $ 25 from me, she FINALLY let me speak without interruption.
«I keep trying to tell you I already had a PAID parking ticket up there, but you wouldn’t let me back into the room to get it, and insisted for $ 25 instead. I paid it because it’s the easiest thing to do to get the hell away from this place».
To which her reply was, «So then let me see your ID, and I can check if you can go back in there».
If I wasn’t carrying my little girl at that point I would’ve laid into that horrible, HORRIBLE woman! Only now, after I’ve paid her, does she want to see my ID? What flipping good would that do? Waste more of my time and effort?!? Forget it. Money is NOT the issue here, being courteous and respectful is.
I paid $ 25 extra to get out of this hell hole, and I did so gladly. Just as I will gladly tell everyone I know of, not to visit this hotel, until they teach their employees proper customer service etiquette. Never, ever, EVER will I stay at this hotel again.

Not a bad hotel, my room was mostly clean aside from a few small things like some sort of stain on my carpet by the bed and the bathroom appliances, shower curtain, etc. seemed a little dated. Located just a 10 minute Über ride from the airport, it was very easy to get there and back in a short period of time. Nice and friendly hotel staff. Nothing is included so keep that in mind when booking this hotel!

let me dedicate this reveiw to the blind, foolish idiot that basically thinks i only complain, or write 1reviews– could not be further from the truth. ok… here we go… this will be fun.
let me start off by saying when i arrived saturday nite, i had been drained of my secret identity and became… peter how about that and yes i went to comic con over the weekend…
the first super hero to arrive on the scene was jousting justin he used his joust to slay a mysterious dragon at a castle i had paid for with gold coins that i gave to a very greedy king… so here i stand at the draw bridge of the castle… and yes the draw bridge is up… and this dragon has lazer oeyes… not looking good for me. so i do my special dance and jousting justin arrives in time. the dragon quickly turns his head and shoots lazers everywhere from his evil body of course jousting justin is a one that lazer bouces right off of. he takes his dragon slaying joust and slays the dragon, and all the wounds on my body are healed instantly thanks to jousting justin…, the draw bridge goes down and i get into the elegant castle where i stay in my own tower room.
the only one i did not fair with as well was. tina…i guess i should call her «normal tina.
let’s get rite to it… the favorite member of mine of the royal family… is queen jennifer… to her i am just a humble servant. and she is hiding away in her castle. she is full of elegance grace and beauty… i was fortunate to be granted permission to spend time with her grace as she wears her crown she has a spell she made just for me that draws me in like dumb and dumber.
that is quite a comparison. this gracious queen allows me to roam freely where i can stay in any room in the castle. she treats her guests properly with dignity and respect. this is the westin so what would one expect.
then we move on to the movie star that is the manager of restaurant. he is a great guy and totally takes care of me to.
i am having a hard time remembering the rest of the employees so let us stop there.

tl;dr I’d recommend sleeping in your car over this place. You’ll have just as rough of a night but you won’t have to deal with the rude staff.
This place is comically bad, they are next to the airport so they have no concern for service.
Short list of problems
— At 11pm at night I met my mom out front and she had just found out her dog died, I went to give her a hug good night and the shuttle driver (who could get around us and had nobody in the shuttle) started swearing at us that we were idiots and should have parked in a spot. I called the front desk to complain and they said he’s a contractor and they aren’t responsible for his behavior (he was driving a bus with a big Westin logo on it).
— Refrigerator didn’t work when we got there, we had to get them to swap it out.
— Refused to give starwood points because the booking was done through expedia (never happened at any other westin).
— Refused to cover internet (I have free internet in all starwood hotels) because it was booked with expedia.

Very welcoming! Hotel was very nice and our rooms were comfortable. Attended a wedding here on Saturday and had a great time.
We checked in late (9pm) and were able to receive an upgrade to a Bay view suite (meaning the water and airport). Service was accommodating and quick at check in. I paid for our room ahead of time using a pre-​paid discount. It also helps to become a Starwood member– you get perks like upgrades and free standard wi-​fi.
Only qualm is for shared suites the doors are paper thin so you can hear everything going on next door– especially sharing a wall with the Presidential Suite.
The ballroom was very nice– a great place for a reception right outside of the city without paying SF prices. Very convenient to the airport.

I’ve enjoyed staying at the SFO airport Westin on many occasions over the years-​love the beds and the showers — and their location with convenient free shuttle service makes it a great location for dealing with an early flight.
Because it is a larger (and older) property, I specifically requested an «extra quiet» room in my reservation. The very efficient front desk clerk made note of this request and made a big deal about having selected a perfect room with updated amenities on the top floor. I was extremely pleased by her service at check in.
Alas, room 724, which was halfway down one of the long corridors didn’t end up to be quite as quiet as we had hoped. It was quite easy to hear the voices and laughter of late night celebrants coming home at midnight as well as others walking up and down the hall. While it wasn’t constant, it was annoying given our desire to get some sleep before our needed 4:30 wake up.
Tip: if you want a quieter experience, try to get a room at the end of the hall and remember to bring ear plugs.
Bottom line: great location and service but disappointing sleep quality despite the «heavenly beds»

Couple of things. It’s not cool that this hotel doesn’t offer free coffee to SPG Gold members. Restaurant hostess said she’d do it this once, but I would have to show my physical Gold card — my SPG app doesn’t count. Hmm. Aren’t we trying to go green here?
Second, came down for breakfast at Grille & Vine at 9:30ish, but hostess was nowhere to be found. Ask such, the two servers walked past us for 5 minutes without offering to seat us or even acknowledging our presence. Servers: If your traffic is down and you wish you had more tips, maybe it’s because you are ignoring the customers. Watch the cameras. I’m sure we are on there, looking like dumb a$$es.
Lastly, is a safety issue. The bolts at the base of the shuttle bus’s luggage rack are coming up – in some places there is an inch of give. If you don’t bolt those down, one good pothole and the 200-​lb metal rack with luggage is going to fall over onto guests. It’s kinda incredible that the driver hasn’t noticed to say anything, because the whole rack clangs and jangles with every bump. If you see something, say something.
Room was clean, check-​in was quick, and dinner night before was not bad (if super overpriced). That said, get your act together ASAP guys.

Customer service has been A+++…really have had no bad service! Love the refreshing fruit infused water in the lobby. The trails across the way are so nice for walking or running along the water. And we even took advantage of the new «Westin workout» service, where for $ 5 they send you up workout gear new socks (to keep) and running shoes to borrow ! The little mini gym is cute too… not too realistic for more than 3 people in there, especially for the minimal weights, 1 dumbbell weights wall only, but can get some cardio done with 5 treadmills, 1 sitting bike, and 3 ellipticals. Not too happy about the high parking price… and that we didn’t know about the fee until after booking, so they lost a star for that. $ 23 a night parking fee :/

I’ve stayed at other Westins and this one was worse than the others.
Issues:
1) The building/​décor was not nearly as nice as the others. It looks like they bought a building from a not-​as-​nice brand, did minor renovations and then put the Westin name on the building.
2) The breakfast buffet was $ 25 (expensive for a hotel buffet breakfast), there was almost nothing healthy and much of the food tasted like it came out of freezer packages.
3) The self-​parking was $ 25 /​day. Rip off.
Similar to other Westins the Heavenly bed is great, and ultimately the reason you stay there.
For the amount you are paying this one just doesn’t deliver.
Next time I am in the area I will be staying elsewhere.

Went here for a cousin’s wedding and they easily fit their 200 guests.
They had a huge dance floor and all the tables had a ton of arm and leg room between each other.
We did get discounted validated parking, but hoped it would be for free.

After looking at several hotels for NYE, I was very pleased that we chose to stay at Westin. The location is great and not too far from downtown SF. We decided to take über from our hotel to avoid the hassle of finding parking downtown. The staff are great and very friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. My favorite part of the room is the bathroom. I love the lighted mirror and the oversize mirror stand. It was convenient and made it so much easier to apply my makeup. The rain shower head was just perfect and relaxing. Also, there are plenty of seating in the lobby and there’s also Starbucks inside the hotel. What more could you ask for!!! There are plenty of parking; however there’s a $ 25 fee per night. You also have the privilege to go in/​out of the parking. The hotel is across the Bay Front and it’s great to enjoy a nice walk around the trail.

Disclaimer: I may be somewhat overshooting my rating since I came here in the middle of the night (1:30 am) after a 5-​hour delay in New Orleans with very little sleep in 5 days.
Shuttle service was free to and from airport. I appreciated the middle of the night pick up (1 am) at the airport, which deposited me right over to the Westin. The carefully curated hotel décor features inviting soft beige tones, plush seating, marble flooring and dark wood furnishings and accents.
Check-​in was ultra fast and friendly. Within minutes, I was up tucked away in my room contemplating whether to get room service or just go to sleep (24 hour room service available). Sleep won out. The Heavenly bed was pure bliss and by morning I was ready to purchase the whole Heavenly collection.
The rainshower head, handheld shower and robe just made my morning and made me almost forget about the delays, lack of sleep, lack of food and lack of luggage. Enjoyed the complimentary Starbucks coffee in the room as well.
The beautiful glass-​enclosed indoor pool/​jacuzzi offers a nice respite from all the worries of the day. There is a fitness center and a business center on the grounds as well. I would love to be able to come back to actually use these nice amenities next time.
Be prepared: Parking will run you $ 25 to self-​park and $ 30 for valet parking. The Shuttle service to/​from the airport is available every 15 mins before 9am and every 20 mins after 9am.
I would definitely come back to the Westin Millbrae if I need to stay near the airport. Great option if you’re looking to save some $ on hotels when visiting SF.

I expected more from a Westin but this location disappointed me the most. The outside looks dated but the interior had some remodel. The lobby was spacious and very welcoming with plenty of places to sit. There is a restaurant with a bar. The gym had new equipments and Each with water and a towel. They even had an interior heated pool and a jacuzzi.
The room was clean and the heavenly bed was comfortable. But they gotta change out the bathroom. Everything in there just looked old and it was so small!!! There was no water pressure from the shower head. At least the heavenly bed came with decent pillows.
The main issue I had was with the service. I was told I would receive points for signing up for Spg and when I called for help. Reservations was not able to help or transfer. So they asked that I call back. I called back and they said I had to speak with the manager within the hour. But he never called me back. I had to call him back the next day to get help. The manager in the end said I’m not eligible for the points but then why did his staff say I would in the first place.
I wouldn’t recommend coming this location ever again.

The last couple of times I’ve traveled to SF I’ve booked my last night here for piece of mind ease to shuttle to the airport and a good nights’ rest. My most recent trip for work was a level 10 life obstacle course. My mother in-​law joined to watch over my 4 month old while I was at the office for the week but left a couple days before bebe and I. I hadn’t traveled solo with him before but I really wanted to experience ‘city life’ with a baby and get some perspective on how it’s done.
Why am I telling you this? Well, some people in our weekend were OK, but the people at the Westin were exceptionally helpful and kind. From the attendant who brought up room service and check in woman I felt my baby and I were cared for and taken care of. Perhaps the most kind was the airport shuttle driver who promptly picks anyone up from the hotel every 15 min to take to their gate. I was scattered with luggage and breaking down a stroller while holding my baby when he graciously came without hesitation to help. The shuttle was full and some were not happy that baby’s carseat had to take up an extra seat. I was comforted with a ‘that’s ok — you are great’ calm comment by the driver before we left. When we arrived at my gate, he insisted on running over my bags across the way.
This kindness equals a 5 star experience. Always.
