Andi’s work speaks for itself. After perusing her website, I knew we wanted her to shoot our wedding — nobody else has her eye. And, as I soon learned, she’s also really friendly, professional and easy to work with. We met briefly at a local bookshop to discuss parameters and costs, which went well, and I was thrilled she was available and interested in shooting our big day. That was painless.
Once booked, Andi has an excellent web interface to capture wedding details. Very reassuring.
At the last minute, we decided we also wanted the rehearsal dinner shot and she made herself available, swooped in and got it all done, no hassles.
The photos were truly sensational — from the portraits to the candids — beautiful!
What particularly pleased us was Andi’s ability to remain fairly invisible while magically capturing all the key moments at all the key times/​places — without exception — all the while engaging us like she was a friend of the family. Now she really is.

Andi is amazing. Not just at photography but as a person. I originally found Andi by looking at pictures of Muir Woods which is where I wanted to propose. I found an amazing picture online and tracked her down as the photographer for it. I contacted her and she was very open to the idea of following us while looking like someone that was just there to enjoy the redwoods. She got the perfect shots of me proposing and then introduced herself to my girlfriend turned fiancée. We had just met but I felt like she was already a friend. We did a shoot in Muir Woods and then went our separate ways. She got our pictures to us in a week and there was a mixture of black and white, color, close ups, and amazingly she was able to get some that showed our intimacy but also the beauty of the huge redwoods.
When it was time for my fiancée and I to look for photographers I already knew I wanted Andi to do them right away. We worked out a very reasonable price. Our ceremony was a morning wedding in Monterey, Reception lunch in Carmel, and ended with a sunset picnic at the beach in Carmel. After we told her our plans she asked all the necessary questions to get things organized. Andi was kind enough to drive to the area that morning, and spend all day with us at our three events even though the sunset picnic was a couple hours after the reception. During the whole day she also was able to handle all the family that wanted to take pictures with the limited amount of time perfectly. When we didn’t have time to do a certain set of pictures she was able to shift it to another break that we had. Some advice is just to let her do her thing and go with the flow. She knows what she is doing and can handle situations well. She said it will take about three weeks to get our photos to us. It’s only been a couple weeks but I’m confident enough to right this review to say she will get them to us in time. Other friends that have gotten married got there pictures in 6 months to even a year so 3 weeks is amazing!
After the sunset picnic she lost her phone on the beach somewhere. She was going to look for it herself but there was no way my wife and I were going to let her do that. We jumped at the opportunity to help her without even a second thought.
Andi is a great photographer and a sweet, kind hearted person in general. Don’t hesitate at all to choose her as your photographer.

Andi was our photographer at our wedding in Napa in August. We hired her through a referral from a former co-​worker after looking at her online portfolio and speaking with her on the phone. We really liked her style, and we enjoyed the conversation that we had with her and how detailed and personable she was. She has a great attitude, and on top of that she is a great photographer! She did a wonderful job of capturing the special moments and her work was absolutely beautiful. She also has a great sense of humor and captured some funny moments as well. We loved looking through all the photos and remembering our special day.

All of Andi’s reviews seem to be her wedding work so I wanted to chime in about family photos and photos of kids. We’ve used Andi twice to take photos of our family and have been thrilled both times. She does an amazing job capturing kids’ personalities. She’s engaging, whimsical and fun and they love her! She has the right balance of place and subject so we always feel like she’s captured some special moment. Her website is easy to navigate and it’s easy to order/​download. We just can’t recommend her highly enough.

There’s nothing better than reviewing amazing photos of a great day! Andi photographed my wedding, and brought boundless expertise and energy to the process. From suggesting a beautiful outdoor spot to take pre-​wedding portraits to finding every fun, quirky corner of our venue, she has a keen eye for what will make a great shot. Moreover, Andi is personable, professional, and just plain fun — definitely the kind of person you want around you on the big day. Andi is sweet, fun, intuitive, energetic, personable… AND a fantastic photographer! For me, the most important selling point in a wedding photographer was the quality of their photos… and on this front, we are super impressed with Andi’s work. But the second most important thing to look for in a photographer? Someone that puts you at ease and makes you feel comfortable on one of the most overwhelming, stressful, emotional, amazing days of your life.
I only met Andi once, during a walk through of our Napa Valley wedding venue. But when I met her again on the morning of our wedding, I felt like I was meeting up with an old friend. She was calm, yet also super on-​top-​of everything in terms of timeline and getting everyone where they needed to be. Her assistant was also great, and a top-​notch photographer as well.
Andi made my husband and I feel at ease in the midst of the nerves and emotions of the day. She is playful and spontaneous, but also moves quickly as needed, and is always professional.
I was very impressed with her stamina too, since shooting a wedding is a long-​winded job… starting with the getting ready shots, and all the way through the dancing, Andi was present and diligent in capturing our day. Andi is simply the best. My wife and I booked her for our engagement photo shoot in San Francisco. Within 5 minutes she made us feel so incredibly comfortable with not only her but also with having our photos taken in a crowded space. She is the consummate professional, but knows how to have fun and get the best out of her subjects!

Andi was an amazing part of our wedding planning process and wedding day. Andi put me at ease from the moment I met her, and was a wonderfully calming on the day of the wedding. She asked tons of questions, listened to all of my answers and ideas, and was always accessible during the months before the wedding. Andi had never worked at our venue, so she did her homework in advance and found perfect spots that resulted in beautiful photos. She truly turned my vision of perfect wedding photos into a reality. On the day of the wedding, the last thing I was thinking about were the photos, and Andi was flexible when I didn’t want to leave the party for too long. I’m so glad she took us away for some beautiful sunset photos. I would recommend Andi to my closest friends. She also does family/​baby photos, and I will definitely turn to Andi again in the future for my photography needs.

I met with Andi about potentially doing our wedding photos. She is an absolute sweetheart and her photos are beautiful. She seems like the kind of person you’d hire as a photographer but end up becoming friends with. She is also extremely organized and on top of her game — she was always super responsive to emails and was early for our appointment — things that gave me confidence that she would be on point on the wedding day. We unfortunately didn’t end up working with Andi because we got a great deal through a friend/​photographer, but I think she’s a fantastic choice and would recommend meeting with her to talk about doing your wedding photography.

By far the best person we had on our wedding day! We love Andi and left wanting to be friends with her and hang out on a regular basis. She is so fun! Her photos came back amazing and she was so professional and we barely even noticed her at the ceremony. She got so many great photos and really helped make our wedding extra special. We will definitely use her in the future for children and other photo needs, and even just to go get a beer. She eliminated much of the stress of the day and things went perfectly. Highest recommendation for Andi!

Andi did a wonderful job of capturing the spirit of our wedding celebration and many of the little moments that make the day so memorable. We chose Andi largely because she made us feel so at ease in our first meeting and because we liked her natural style and eye for all special moments — big and small. We also had a lot of kids at our wedding, and I could tell from her blog that she loves photographing little ones. My 3-​year-​old nephew was a complete ham during the wedding — and she even caught him mid-​flight as he took off across the dance floor. She was also very understanding of our budget and open to indulging any special shots we wanted her to get. After the wedding we were able to do a portrait session with her around San Francisco and the shots really turned out beautifully. Her easygoing and upbeat personality makes it easy spend hours with her smiling.

I will let you know up front that Andi has been a longtime friend of mine, but my review comes unbiased, in a sense, that I will review her based on what I expected in a wedding photographer.
From day one on our decision to hire Andi, I was impressed with her professionalism. We met for lunch in Marin where she is located and she brought me a tastefully designed package with a brochure & price packet where we sat and chatted over my desires and her photographic style. We were on the same page immediately.
Andi was also reasonably priced. We initially looked at some other photographers, but I knew that having someone who knew me well would benefit in the photographs that came to fruition, and I was right in that assumption.
Andi initially recommended an engagement photo session. At first, my now husband and I weren’t so keen on this idea. Strangely, while I’m a photography nut myself, we found it kind of corny and saw it as just another item on our hectic wedding-​planning list, but when we ventured out into an obscure hiking spot in Marin, and Andi played with us while 30mph winds whipped our hair and skin, the results were extraordinary. She was able to get to know my fiancé better, get a sense of us as a couple, and brought out our love for each other in her shots. Our friends and family were totally impressed with the results, as were we.
On the day of our wedding, Andi arrived at my hotel room ready to go. I only later found out from her that BOTH of her cameras had gone down and she had to spend the morning at Calumet Photo renting her #1 shooter. But did she tell me that on that wedding day morning as she started shooting? No! Professionalism at its best! She just said, «Oh, I’ve had quite a morning» (when asked, «How are you doing?»)
I assumed it had something to do with the fact that I had hired her for the whole day AND invited her lovely husband to join us that day as well, so childcare for her kids may have been an issue. You know you’ve hired well when someone else’s potential drama is unknown to you as the client.
Finally, Andi went above and beyond all day long. She brought in a second shooter so that she could spend a lot of time with me and my loved ones. She managed to finagle all of our extended family and its complicated forms. She caught those moments that I would have caught had I been behind the viewfinder and she even danced a few on the dance floor while shooting as I had asked to do as my friend & photographer.
But what had me beaming with delight were these two pieces of this photographic puzzle.
1) She met with my father and me the day before the wedding and went over album ideas and how she would work on our wedding day. This put my mind at ease as far as letting my parents know that we would be getting more of the kind of photography that WE wanted (my husband and me) — documentary style — rather than the more traditional photography that my parents generation is used to — group photo posed-​style. The way she handled my father was courteous, professional, and eventually had my dad eating out of her hand at one point. Plus, he was thrilled with the final photographs. Touchdown!
2) She also put together a slideshow of her favorite photos to one of my favorite musical artists. Not only did she do this within a week+ time after the wedding so that we could view it on our honeymoon, but she brought me to tears. I was blown away and got to relive my wedding in a five minute piece. Next up were almost 1000 images to choose from to make prints and an album. What a treat to be able to go through them all, mark my favorites, and know what to work with while making my albums.
So I have my work cut out for me from now until Christmas, but with all of these amazing shots to choose from, I can’t WAIT to get going in my creative pursuits.

I chose Andi Hatch photography for my wedding and engagement photos. I knew from looking at her website that she would take beautiful photos, but she is also great to work with. During our engagement I was working part time, a full time student and in residency. In other words stressed out to the max. Andi would meet to discuss things when ever was most convenient for me– at my school, a local café. She really was easy to get along with. She is very creative with her photojournalistic style and beautifully captured moments of our wedding (ie. the picture of me by the window someone must have posted on here?!) I was very happy with her work. You will not find better work for this price in the bay area.

Trusting someone to capture one of the most important days in a person’s life is never an easy decision. My wife and I were looking for someone with a photojournalistic approach and who could capture the emotion and details of the day. We first came across Andi’s work on her website and immediately loved her style. Unlike other photographers we considered, Andi’s work was consistent and we loved her entire wedding portfolios and not just a few great pics from many different weddings.
Not only did we love Andi’s work, but we also loved Andi’s easy going personality and responsiveness. Since we were planning our Napa wedding from NYC, we appreciated her initiative in visiting our site prior to the wedding and even had ideas already for ceremony, family and couple pictures! Andi photographed our wedding last May and she was fantastic! Her style is photojournalistic and editorial. She captures moments you would never even think would be a beautiful photo but end up as one of your favorites. She has a warm and easy-​going personality which my husband and I love and were thankful for on the Big Day! And what also sends Andi apart, is not just her work on the day of the wedding. But it’s her support throughout the process. She’s extremely communicative and responds quickly to questions or concerns. We got our wedding album back and it is beautiful. She even takes the time to wrap it in the most lovely wrapping paper. It just shows you that Andi goes the extra mile for her clients. I’m so thankful we used her. All of my friends have commented on how amazing the photos turned out.

Andi Hatch Photographed our wedding, and I would highly recommend her to others. Andi has a «photojournalistic» style and focused on capturing wonderful candid moments from our wedding. She also scouted our wedding location and had some great ideas for shots we should take. Andi is warm, fun, calm/​reassuring, and has a great, positive energy that fit in perfectly with our wedding. In fact a number of our guests mentioned how great/​cool/​professional (and cute!) our photographer was… and commented that she was everywhere taking pictures. She’ll do what it takes to get the shot… including laying on the ground if necessary!

Andi photographed my wedding as well and I was super satisfied with the whole experience. She sat down with us on more than one occasion to review the shots that we really wanted to get and has spent several hours helping us plan out album. She has a very laid back attitude when she is working an event, but at the same time is very proactive about reminding you about milestones in case you forget in the planning phase. She came with us on our venue walk through to plan where to do the portrait shots and we were able to really maximize our short time at the venue. She gets along great with other vendors and one thing that was extremely important to me, she stays out of the guests way. I hate going to weddings where all you can see during the ceremony is the photographer, and this definitely isn’t the case with Andi.
And did I mention that she takes great shots? She took some wonderful candid shots of family members that are normally extremely camera shy, which I will treasure forever. She does excellent work in color and black and white, for reasonable prices and gives you digital negatives to everything.
Of all of my vendors who helped on my wedding, Andi was the best!
