It has been a little while since I last stayed at a Marriott… Someone broke into my room and robbed me the last time I was in Anaheim California so I was a little nervous in general to stay again with them. (They didn’t compensate me in anyway and my SSN was also stolen– so I have a grudge with Marriott as a company). However, this hotel was a clean and very welcoming staff. I will say the parking could be better and if you come in the evening it can be sort of confusing where to go– there is construction. The hotel is pretty much in the middle though so it isn’t a bad place to stay, there were a lot of families staying while we visited so we avoided the dining areas. Overall it was a decent stay though.

The housekeepers are excellent. Dogs are allowed with a 75 dollar one time deposit. Maintenance is fast responding. This was a nice and accommodating hotel for my family of five.

Off the beaten path — hard to see from the main drag. One has to drive through other business’ parking lots to get to the hotel.
Clean & quiet rooms. Fair pricing for the area. Friendly & efficient staff.

I love Newport and this hotel is a great and inexpensive option during a stay. The room we had was a king bed which was very clean and classy with a rotating flat screen television and fairly new kitchen. The disappointments for me was the free breakfast was cold both days and the waffle machine was guarded by the older staff lady. The price was definitely worth the trip but I sure wish they had a functioning toilet when I arrived. We had to ask maintenance to come and fix it while we killed time by the pool which closes at 10 even on the weekends.
Overall I would stay again but only if they improved breakfast. Peter was great at the front desk and the free cookies were taken advantage of each night. 3 out of 5 stars.

We spent this past weekend here, and we’ll definitely be back. The last minute upgrade offer to a two bedroom suite worked out perfectly. The property is spotless, parking is easy, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great! Minutes outside of Newport and probably 1⁄3 of the price you’d pay inside the city for the same amenities.

I am reviewing this place on my last day of staying here! The hotel is so nice and clean, it is also only six years old (I asked because the layout looks newer to me than other residence inn I stayed at). The staff are more than friendly! Breakfast buffet and waffle maker with any topping you can possibly think of.
We are in this area in the winter during school vacation week and we have definitely enjoyed their indoor pool, their whirlpool!
This will not be our last time here. Very conveniently located about 3 – 5 miles away from historic Newport and even the beach area. My husband and our kids enjoyed it and we will be coming back.

Just spent a night, just to get away, at this Marriott. Very clean suites. Location fine as long as you have a GPS. Staff very friendly. Breakfast good considering it was free. Would definately stay here in the future, as we have GPS in our car.

Very nice rooms… To bad staff cant control rowdy drunken guests when the start screaming at 1am. When i complained of being woken up at the said the would handle it… they didnt… when i said something at the feont desk the nect morning the «kid» at the desk said well that sucks… yeah really…

No complaints at all, my suite was clean and ready for me when I arrived. Breakfast was hot and fresh, with a wide variety of choices. The hotel sits back from the main road which is beneficial to not having much road noise. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous, and I felt was genuinely devoted to the guests needs.
I paid $ 107.00 per night for two nights, which I felt was extremely reasonable.
I would recommend this hotel at any time, as an alternative to staying in downtown Newport.

Everything is great — the tv channels stink.
Instead of the new flat screens they should spent a few bucks on the channel line up, which sucks.
somebody at corporate should wake up and realize this is 2013.
the people working there are terrific, but i can’t believe after all the years of people complaining that the excuse is still that the contract. with the tv line up can’t be changed — any contract can be changed. where there is a will there is a way.
so the owners should get with the program before they loose all their customers to other chains

This was a very expensive hotel to stay in so you expect it to be clean, quiet and a nice play to lay your head. When we first checked in and went into our room it appeared clean at first until we were unpacking and saw there were two empty beer bottles under the shelf by the sink. It was sticky like one was spilled and there was hair in the bathroom and yellow stains on the toilet seat.
Our room was FAR from quiet. There was a very loud and immature wedding party staying on our floor and the one above us. They ran up and down the hallways banging on door at 2am and one other resident gave them a piece of her mind but it was a scene that late at night.
Then the vomit on the side stairwell to the parking lot, the same parking lot that most of employees smoke by they walked by it for days no one bothered to clean it up or hose it down, we got to pass it many times a day and even watched birds pecking at the dried vomit. Totally 100% disgusting.
Three days in a row my door key stopped working and had to be reset by the front desk.
There was little to no parking most days so people had to park in fire zones just to park.
Limited cable channels as well. So all these factors added up to a not-​so wonderful stay.

I have stayed in many places throughout the country and I am fortunate that I found the Residence Inn in Middletown. I come up for business in the area monthly and I am glad to know that I can depend on this excellent hotel for accommodations. The property is polished and feels new. Breakfast is outstanding. The actual room is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make their guests feel important (as a gold member, they always give me free drink tickets). This is my go to place when I conduct business in the area.

Best Marriott we’ve ever spent a night in. ‘Had a great rate on a King Suite. Wow. A full kitchen and full sized fridge? Amazing. 2 large screen TVs kept the man happy. Comfy bed, lots of pillows and great amenities (except for no hand lotion). Spotlessly clean. Great front desk staff, and friendly housekeepers and maintenance workers. We were so impressed, and will definitely return. I asked for a quiet room on the top floor and we got it. The buffet breakfast is terrific– I love make your own waffles.(I brought along a bottle of real maple syrup!) There was fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, bagels and bread for toasting, pancakes, and oatmeal. Best of all, the coffee is strong and excellent. It seemed to be available most hours of the day. The pool is small and very shallow, but clean. The Jacuzzi is excellent.
Do not be scared off by staying in Middletown instead of Newport– you are sooooo close — especially to some of the best restaurants like Salvation Café– 5 minutes away.

Was here on a business trip and the business rate was an excellent price for the hotel quality. The entire hotel was clean and well maintained. But the rooms were awesome. I was in a suite and highly impressed with the full kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and stocked kitchenware. There was also a comfortable desk, couch, and separated vanity from the bathroom. All traditional hotel room features were similarly impressive (comfortable large bed, great shower, quiet heating/​cooling, free strong wifi, privacy & light blocking drapes, and swivelable TV with cable). Also, I liked the free breakfast (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, toast, yogurt, waffles, bagels, fruit, assorted pastries, juice & coffee, and pancakes. The indoor pool with hottub was relaxing and there’s a well maintained fitness center and laundry area. Oh, there’s a tiny bar area too for alcoholic drinks. Like I said all very nice. The location is off main street and can be hard to find but its conveniently located behind a strip mall with a Shaw’s grocery store. I’d be back for a special occassion but I’m definitely not the type to pay for 3 – 5 star hotels.

This was a nice place for a winter getaway. It is reasonably priced for the area. The pool, rooms and service were excellent.
We will definitely return for other off season retreats.
