M-Spec Performance

These guys have been taking care of my cars for the past 11 years. I would not go anywhere else for any BMW repair. They have gotten it right every single time. Great customer service, great pricing, and an awesome warranty. They always have your back, and if you have any questions you can email or text them and they will always answer. Super friendly and a well run family business.

Found M-​Spec on google. I just moved to NY from Florida and needed a BMW specialist ASAP, as my radiator spontaneously cracked. Had a trusted mechanic in Fl so I was weary about where I would bring my 335. I read M-Spec’s reviews and was impressed by their webpage so I decided to take my chances. I was not disappointed. They were honest and blunt with me throughout, and provided quality and speedy work. Their complementary multi-​point inspection was much appreciated as well. M-​Spec is highly recommended.

I hate admitting this but in stereotypical fashion, I know nothing about cars and really hate dealing with the nuances of keeping up with maintenance. Eddie & Adam run a trustworthy & honest business and I 100% trust their opinion and their quality of work. I’ve been there for simple oil changes, battery work, and bigger repairs. And every time the work is done with anal perfection and worth every penny. Highly recommend!
For reference, I have an Audi which apparently is a big pain in the butt to upkeep and repair. Thank goodness I found them!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! These guys are incredible! I have a 2011 BMW 535I and it has never been to a shop other than the dealership. I scheduled an oil change and Mike assured me that all parts were genuine BMW PARTS. I also asked to check and see what kind of service the car may need and sure enough it had needed a load of flushings, that the BMW service center never performed… How do I know? Well because after m-​spec did the flushings on my car it sounded like I bought it yesterday. It had never sounded like that after coming from a service appointment at the dealership. Thanks to Ruben the mechanic who serviced my car, Eddie the co-​founder who drove me home while I waited for the service to be done and then picked me up the next morning! Phil and Mike you guys are the best! THanks for taking the time to make me feel comfortable by explaining every detail before servicing my car. They also take pictures of the problem so that when they are explaining the problem to you, you can see what they are talking about. Really honest guys in what can otherwise be a shadey business. I’ve known both Adam and Eddie for a very long time. Back during their backyard days i thought it was just a phase, but after seeing their first successful engine swap (with no training), i realized how passionate they were about fixing cars. They continued their mechanic education to keep up with the demand. I’ve watched their garage and business grow over the past 10 years. They are the reason why I bought my 2002 BMW 325i nine years ago. Everytime I’ve brought my car in, either for a simple oil change, replacing the bushings, to a cracked coolant tank, the list goes on. they’ve taken the time to walk me through the problems, show me the defects and the solution. They’re the only mechanics I know that will do that. I’m confident that they’re not trying to screw me over and rip me off. My second hand car is 13 years old with 155k+ miles and still runs great. Thanks to them! I love these guys and I highly recommend them. The only downfall is that I wish their garage was a little easier to get via public transportation, but Eddie has picked me up and driven me to the closest subway a couple of times.

I am going to start my review with a full disclosure. I know the owner of the shop and I am friendly with some of the staff. But, please trust that my review is genuine and take it for what it’s worth. Business is business.
I have owned a number of BMWs since 2006. I originally owned a 335i coupe, which I exclusively brought to the BMW dealership because it was under warranty. After the warranty ran out, I brought it back to the dealership and the prices were astronomical compared to what I could have paid from a private shop. Unfortunately, I did not know About M Spec before. I sold the car and shortly after got an M3 that was not under warranty. The first few months I brought it to the Bmw dealership for servicing and some work. No issues except the price was a bit high and they sometimes kept the car for longer than I wanted them to.
Now, let me get to M Spec Performance. I was hesitant and reluctant to bring my prized M3 to a non-​BMW dealership. I pondered over it for a few weeks and tried justifying it by saying I knew the guys there. Like many readers, my biggest fear was leaving my car in the hands of people who aren’t specialist. Rest assured, M Spec went above and beyond in their communication, servicing and honesty. These guys are experts and probably better technicians/​mechanics than at a BMW dealership. I walked in, told them I needed an oil change and maybe to get the car serviced since i haven’t gone to the dealer in 6 months. Adam and his team walks me through what was vital, nice to have, and preventative maintenance. Never once pushing me to get anything done. You can tell these guys take pride in their work. I got my oil changed, brakes changed, and updated some of my fluids.
I went in nervous and hesitant… I left a loyal customer and I highly recommend them. Adam is great with his follow ups and communication. The mechanics will walk into the office every so often and joke around with him. This light hearted approach is refreshing and makes coming back so much fun. I’ve been here a number of times now and they are my exclusive BMW location. I’ll be picking up my X5 M soon and you better bet they’ll be the only guys I let take care of it.

I got a Mercedes and wanted to go to a reputable shop to get the work done. After I stop by and schedule a date to get the work done. They filled in my spot the first day they apologized and told me they will schedule me after the weekend to not worry and come back. So I call to confirm my appointment with them as a professional. They tell me sir we got all booked during the weekend come back next week refusing to work on my car. What a waste of time. Seemed like they werent sure of the problem diagnostic. Don’t keep people waiting with high hopes of getting their car fixed then tell me to check back in a week when you guys have time after cancelling two appointments with no heads up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISAPPOINTED!
Save your self time go to another shop that honors their word!

Brought in my 2009 Mini Cooper which had an overheating problem that was worked on by another mechanic who didn’t know a thing about these wondrous, fickle little cars. It was meticulously reviewed and the problem was identified. These guys have state of the art everything and their technician/​mechanics are the kinds of savvy, problem solvers you want handling your car. It really feels like everyone there (my tech was Will) lives, breathes, European cars. I cannot say that they got me in and out of their shop quickly. But I can say that I got quality service: communication, no BS, fair price. They’ve made a customer out of me, for sure.

M-​Spec Performance is the best place I have ever been to when fixing my car. These guys know their stuff. They take the time to make sure that you are heard and answer any to all questions you may have. I feel safe when I leave my car with them. They are also super sweet and thoughtful. I still get surprised every time at how polite everyone is. Adam, Phil and Eddie are the nicest people I have met when interacting in this or any other business thus far. They really make you feel like you are the only customer they have by putting your concerns first and always making time for you. Very dedicated and attentive. They took my car in last minute and waited for me to drop it off at the end of the day. Always there if anything happens. Keep up the amazing work.

Thanks to Phil, Adam and the guys at the shop. My 2008 328 bmw xi needed some simple work done along with the Complimentary Inspection and I found the service to be excellent. The timely «follow-​up» by email with pictures, gives you an excellent perspective. Its nice to have a goto mechanic.

I was referred to Eddie and M-​Spec Performance. I brought my Mini Cooper S in for some repairs due to a minor accident I suffered. Fortunately most of the damage was mechanical. Eddie assessed the vehicle for me and gave me a really nice inspection report. They took care of my A/​C Condenser, Radiator, Axle, Belts and a slew of other items that I can hardly pronounce. I was informed every step of the way on what was being done. They even saved the old parts for me. I really liked their transparency. Their shop is packed with lots of BMW, Mercedes, Audi and a bunch of Mini Coopers. Its nice to see that they were advertised as specialist and really only work on these cars. It was a pleasure doing business with M-​Spec and I highly recommend them to anyone with a Mini Cooper!

Project M-​Spec is legit, affordable and customer focused. I went in for an alignment on my Golf and was greeted by Phil at the entrance after having called in a few days prior. He explained to me what work would be done on my vehicle, via one of M-Spec’s new state of the art alignment machines, how long it would take and even offered a courtesy visual inspection of the underside of my car, with photographs. I was given a ride to a local mall, picked up once my car was ready, thanks Chris, and all in just about an hour and a half. I look forward to dropping into Project M-​Spec again in the future.

I brought in my 2009 BMW 328XI after almost getting bamboozled by BMW services center. I had a few sensors going off. Not only did the diagnostic check reveal an issue with the waterpump and thermostat, due to a leak, but also a sensor that wouldn’t recognize the trunk door being closed. I was told these parts required replacement and and, of course, my warranty has since expired.
I took a leap of faith and ended up researching non-​BMW Service Centres. Luckily, through Unilocal,I found M-​Spec and must say I am truly happy til this day with my decision. After doing their own diagnostic check, they realized the sensor was due to a radiator leak. I gave them the green light to start their magic.
Since I decided to wait on my car, they were nice enough to drive me to a nearby shopping center where a Starbucks was located. They even kept me updated throughout the day with the status of my car which I can appreciate. Once the work was done, they picked me up and brought me back to my car. What a relief it is to get a car back in fixed condition after struggling with bouts of hesitancy all day; BMW Center was all I knew up to that point. These guys were true professionals, respectful and thoroughly knowledgeable on all things BMW. It’s refreshing to know there are still honest mechanics in this world. I would recommend these guys to anyone who’s a BMW owner!

Took my Mini Cooper R53 here for several maintenance and repair items based on all of the Unilocal reviews and bc they specialize in Mini’s…and am glad that I did.
Spoke with Adam on numerous occasions and he was more than happy to discuss the work being done. Never once did I get the impression from him that I was being too bothersome. He went over the work with me and made a couple of recommendations which I thought were useful.
When I picked up my car, which was way after they closed BTW but were accommodating and made sure I could, I met with Eddie who showed me all of the parts that came off of my car and were replaced, and explained what was wrong with them.
I feel confident after letting these guys work on my car that it will run for quite a while and will be taking it back to them whenever it needs work.
FYI, Adam told me that they have the ability to perform pretty much anything a dealer can do so don’t be afraid to ask them! They were able to activate a couple of things on my car that I thought only a dealer could do (DRL’s, and roll down windows and open the sunroof via key FOB).

These guys are a throwback to the local mechanic who cared. Always professional, thorough, and personable, they always do superb work. They obviously take pride in their work — it shows every time. The only caveat would be this — they’re very busy because they’re good. Expect a few days away from your machine as they get to it with the attention it deserves. Have no doubt trusting your BMW to these guys. Also, take what it would cost at the dealer and cut it at least in half. Can’t beat that!
