Unity On The Bay

Relocated home to Miami after many years and this place speaks of home to me… in the most fundamental sense. Unity is a place of no judgements, just love. The music is truly inspiring and uplifting. Just a wonderful place.

I recently relocated to Miami from California. I was yearning to find a church home for the first few weeks I was settling in. I heard about Unity and from the very first service I attended, I knew this would be my home. I am absolutely filled to the point of overflowing with every service, and that fullness had flown into every aspect of my life since coming here. It’s a warm, loving, welcoming, and aware community. I’m so happy I’ve found it!

Beautifully delivered messages Sunday after Sunday… the kingdom of consciousness right here, right now… finding the blessing in every situation… Omnipresence, Omniscience and Omnipotence… taking the 18 inch journey to the heart… love the music… lifting the consciousness of the planet… embodying kingdom consciousness… Be a wave, not just a particle. Seeing the divinity and light in you even when others don’t see it. The Kingdom of God is in the realm of the absolute. The real universe is not the physical universe. Heaven and Hell are states of mind. Fifth unity principle is put love into action when the waves of the storms of life get in the way. Accept what arises, stop the war within your mind.
Parking for the 11 am service is always an issue, but there is plenty of parking for the 1:30 pm Spanish service.
Let Go, Let God!!! Life keeps moving… question everything… give your life to God… expand your vision and bliss… continually evolve and expand… You will not rise higher than your personal vision of your life. Open the mind and don’t believe what it thinks. You will find endless joy, laughter and peace. Count your blessings. Be a giver of LIFE! Be in gratitude… declutter your mind and life… live in an ocean of bliss!!!

I Love coming here in Sundays! Open minded liberal church that focus in loving one another and not caring what you look like! I bring my ten year old to their Spanish service and he loves it as well.

LOVE IT! Actually on way there in about an hour for the 11 o’clock service. Its non threatening and unlike most churches that say «We welcome all» OR «Come as you are». They actually mean it.
All races, shapes, styles, ages of people go there and their faith keeps them going. their choir is great. I never knew that songs that i knew cold be converted to a loving tribute to GOD or your higher power. its not the same boring Hymns that are meaningful don’t get me wrong but don’t lift your spirit and make you get out of your seat like their selection.
They offer classes during the week including Yoga. And meditation on Wednesdays. They feed the homeless at least once a month and donate time to families in need as well.
The messages each week just seem to be put together especially for you and what you are experiencing presently.
They have a 9am and 11am service and a 1:30p in Spanish every Sunday.
I was one to fall asleep in church at times. I am not proud of that. But, I am proud to say that, that has never happened @ Unity on The Bay.

I’d describe Unity as a Christian trans denominational spiritual center. Meaning scripture from the bible is used every Sunday service, & Jesus is most often mentioned in songs and stories, although Buddha is a close 2^nd. But it’s pretty cool that teaching and parables from all denominations are used to deliver a practical message applicable to everyday living.
Services are at 9 & 11 on Sunday morning and last about 90 mins. Parking is limited so arrive early and stay throughout the Award winning music ministry inspired service. They have a bunch of other stuff happening throughout the week from spiritual courses to yoga to meditative services.
They have an awesome Children’s ministry, and whenever I get my nieces and nephews to come, they love it.
There’s a Spanish ministry that’s worth checking out even if you don’t speak Spanish.
There’s also a pretty active GLBT ministry called Out on the Bay.
Seems like programs are consistently being added as the community is evolving.
It’s my favorite place in miami to get charged up with positive vibes that get me through the week.

I attended the Om Hour Meditation Service last night & it was AMAZING! Lately I’ve been having feelings of needing to be more spiritual & this really helped. The lighting is dim and everyone speaks in a soft tone of voice. There’s lots of soft music & singing to lead you into meditation. The woman that was singing & playing some interesting instruments (I believe her name was Ann but not 100% sure) had such a beautiful, soothing voice I couldn’t have asked for a better singer. The gentleman accompanying her was wonderful as well. The message was perfect for what I’ve been going through in life «New Beginnings» and it was delivered beautifully. The service just let’s you unwind from your daily life & fills your heart with spirit & joy. I would recommend this to any one & everyone I know. Especially because the best thing about this church is that all walks of life are welcomed. Being bi-​sexual myself I enjoyed the speaker mention his husband in one of his stories. In no way shape or form does your sexual orientation have to do with your religion. I will definitely be becoming a regular at Unity on the Bay.
Oh, & on your way in or out check out the store. They have tons of books, candles, incents, stones, jewelry & much much more!

I have been attending here for 13 years, so I can safely give an honest review that is not from a one-​time experience. What I love about Unity on the Bay beyond its amazing atmosphere, members, and staff is what it offers. This place is about giving you tools to live a positive life. Those tools include services, classes, workshops, special presentations, volunteer opportunities, books, and fellowship. Those tools can be for anything from meditation to prayer to reiki to yoga to drumming to singing to silence. Those tools can include talks and messages from renowned authors, ancient texts, Unity publications, and its own talented ministers. They will reference various sources of enlightenment from Jesus to Buddha to science to nature and all other living beings. During Sunday services you can expect services to be about 90 minutes long. You will hear some singing that is congregational and some professional. You may hear gospel music, jazz, contemporary, opera, soul, hip hop, pop, or other spiritual music. The music is intended to be positive and uplifting. You will hear a guided mediation and a message from a Unity minister or guess speaker. This message will be positive and may or may not reference a text. Either way it will be a metaphysical interpretation applied to everyday life. This service is energetic and you may leave saying, «Amen. That was awesome. Happy Sunday!» On Wednesdays you can expect the service to be 60 minutes long and include a short message, some relaxed singing or chanting, soft music, and lots of time for quiet meditation. This service is more contemplative and you may leave saying, «Namaste and peace to you. Have a blessed evening.»

I go to UNITY CHURCHES, and this one is great. I just read a review by a girl who equates unity with Jesus and Christianity. This girl is in her head seeing what she wants to see because unity is so far from Christian beliefs and dogma that I was amazed to read her review.
I left a Christian church because I don’t believe that Jesus ever existed. To me it’s a story and a myth. Unity is about love and truth and community and did I mention love.
The entertainment is off the hook, and they never pressure you to give. I love unity.

Hi spiritual energy and empowering message.

After attending various churches in Miami trying to find a home I came across Unity on the Bay. This is my home, my spiritual community, my peace. My daughter and are part of this movement. We attend Wednesday nights for The Om Hour which is a great way to relieve midweek stresses. Sunday service is incredibly uplifting. I am obsessed with the choir, I see them around the church grounds and feel like a groupie lol, they are all VERY talented. The messages delivered by Elizabeth Longo and Rev. Chris Jackson are always on point! I have introduced a few friends to this congregation and they have not stopped attending. Unity was always supposed to be part of my family life and I am blessed each day for having found a home.

I always enjoy the music, meditation, and stories. They have excellent speakers and relate messages in a way that is useful to your every day life. I have had nothing but positive experiences here!

I know this is a famous church because of its message of tolerance and acceptance and its awesome music. It’s OK to me if people want to go to an open church that teaches positivity and harmony rather than what has been preached by mainstream religions for hundreds if not thousands of years. I also have no problem if their music is from top 40 radio rather than from a hymnal. My only issue their lack of response or compassion when it came to dealing with a friend’s illness.
I had a friend who has since passed who suffered from a serious, debilitating disease. When Unity was informed about it, they were quite non responsive. In fact, my friend went up to pastor Chris one day at Publix, and told him about his illness, and the Pastor’s response, was ”Oh what a shame” or something to that extent. While I am not religious at all, I believe a pastor of a more mainstream church would have bent on his knees right then and there and implored GOD to heal my friend.

I love this place, when you go to Unity you feel like you are HOME. There is not words to describe the experience, just to go and find out on your own, you will not regret it.

This is a melting pot church, love the place, love the music

«Loving What Is»…English and Spanish, that’s the message on either side of the «Altar» of Unity on the Bay.
A lot of you guys know my 2010 was not that great. Seeking to turn a new leaf, I followed the advice of both Tatyana C and a non-​Yelp friend who had great things to say about this church. I’m not going into a theological discourse, but what I like best about Unity in contrast with the religion of my upbringing is it’s emphasis on positivity and how the connection with God /​Higher Power /​the Universe can worked with to better oneself.
Unlike a traditional church, the «altar» looks more like a concert auditorium, the membership is diverse, and the minister seems approachable and human. The sermon doesn’t feel like you’re being talked down to, either and the meditation is refreshing and relaxing.

My Spiritual home!
I have been going to Unity on the bay since I was a little girl. Since then I have felt at home. When you walk through the door at Unity there is definitely something different. People of all walks of life upper class, middle class, black, white, Hispanic, homosexual, heterosexual, young, old, different religions… you name it Unity’s got it. Rev. Chris Jackson said something like this once «If people of all walks of life can sit in a room for 90 minutes with no problem, why can’t we have peace on earth». That stuck to me like glue.
I love this Church.

THE most well known Unity Church in all of South Florida. Call the headquarters in Missouri and mention you’re in Miami and they’ll immediately go on and on about how great this Church is.
This Church is popular with people from Miami Beach even though the Church is located across the bay from Miami Beach. That’s not to say that there’s no locals here — there’s people from all over Miami.
There’s a lot of meditation, advices, and music. Even if you’re not a member of the Unity Church, this church could still provide relief and guidance that you may need and you’ll fit in if you’re a Christian.
Oh and the music? It’ll definitely make you think of «Sister Act,» no question!
They translate things in the Bible metaphysically, which is good if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like to take the Bible literally.
And there’s a strong spiritual aspect to this Church — you can find incense candles and even a buddha statue in the bookstore.
Quite an interesting Church. Times of service: 9 am, 11 am (sign language interpreter), and 1 pm (Spanish)
