This is a DESTINATION spot! Cuban comfort food. Delicious and be sure to finish with a Cuban coffee(con leche o sin leche) Tuto greeted us at the door and was super friendly walking us through the menu. We had the pork chunks, chicken steak, Madurese, rice, beans, maquita, and croquettes. All was excellent, but the best part is chatting with Tuto and seeing him interact with LOTS of local regulars who are coming in constantly. Lastly, get a seat at the bar on the right side to take in his collection of funny posters! Awesome local place!!! Stop reading, and GONOW!!!

Given the glowing reviews, expectations were high. The setting was interesting, and the proprietor was genuinely friendly and attentive. Alas, my medianoche was slow to arrive, was incomplete(no pork, pickle, or mustard), and the bread had a nasty freezer-burn taste. they were also out of tostones. Maybe it was just bad timing, but doubtful I’ll come back.

Found this WONDERFUL hole in the wall restaurant by reviewing local restaurant ratings on Unilocal… actually I live within walking distance but had never tried it; but it was GREAT! The owner is the server and keeps everyone taken care of… food is great, like home cooked meal, very reasonable prices, great milkshakes, only drawback is the place is a bit small and most everyone sits at the counter(only 3 or 4 tables) but everyone is minding their own business enjoying a down to earth well prepared meal. I just found it last week and I’ve been there twice for lunch!!! Menu varies with daily specials priced around $ 6.50 for a meal(Rice, beans and fried chicken) and then he has the regular menu with other meals and sandwiches.

I was looking for a place to get an authentic Cuban sandwich on my recent trip to Miami. I did a Google search and found Tuto’s Place as well as many more Cuban restaurants. A quick search on Unilocal and after reading the reviews I decided this was the place to go to. I sat down at the counter and Tuto greeted me with a smile and a hello. I ordered my Cubano and a coffee. Tuto brought me my Cuban coffee then he gave me some Mariquitas(plantain chips) and some Maduros(fried sweet plantain) to try on the house. They were delicious. My sandwich arrived perfectly prepared with a side of potato sticks. The Cuban bread was fresh and authentic. Ham, roast pork, cheese, pickles and mustard pressed and grilled to perfection. I savored every bite. I went back a week later and had another one. I wish Tuto’s Place was in NYC. I be back the next time I’m in Florida.

*Highly Recommend* My sister and I were in our way back to North Miami from the Everglades and since I was visiting from California I wanted to try some authentic Cuban food. This place was a family owned Cuban Café and I’m so glad we stopped here. I felt like I was in their kitchen, they treated us with the best hospitality, and the food was soooooo good! The pan con bistec(steak sandwich) was about a foot long and the pollo frito con arroz y frijoles(fried chicken with rice and beans) could feed 2 people easily. Oh yeah and if you’re a coffee lover like me… Cuban coffee!

We came to Miami for a funeral and couldn’t leave without getting some authentic Cuban. Tuto’s did not disappoint! We both ordered chicken soup and Cuban sandwiches, and they were the best we’ve ever had, which is saying a lot since we’ve lived in FL all our lives. My husband got some hot sauce for his soup and raved about the flavor. I was presented with a tropical fruit smoothie sampler that was a perfect finish to our very satisfying meal. We’re really looking forward to coming back again! Oh-bring cash, no plastic accepted.

Well deserved 5 Stars! Their bistec de pollo with rice and black beans is on point! I found this café on Unilocal. When I arrived, I realized it was cash only. I’m so glad I ordered and stepped out to find an atm while my food was being prepared. It’s a small diner style café, friendly service and delicious food!

A true GEM in the South West. Don’t waste your money on fancy places, this as authentic Cuban Food as you can find, The service is very personalized, their Mamey Shake is the best!!! Their thin Plantains(mariquitas) are the phenomenal as well.

We stopped at this place on our way to the Everglades. Great little shop! Everything tasted wonderful; was so glad to get a great authentic cuban sandwich while in Miami! There’s only one guy who works the counter and the few small tables; which obviously means some things can go amiss. We really wanted a café con leche, but it never came; I even asked midway through the meal. He was super nice, and was able to balance most things very well, so I’m not too upset about it. This place is low on thrills – but the walls and atmosphere are great and casual!

Stopped by for a quick lunch after an Everglades tour and boy are we happy we did. First the place is small but comfortable. The owners/servers were incredibly friendly and provided great service. I had the smoked pork chops which were good. My 8 year old had the crimp creole and absolutely loved it. The rest of the family enjoyed Cuban Sandwiches which they all loved. We also started with some ham croquets and fried plantains. This is well worth the stop

We visited this place working on assignment in Florida from California At first you look at the place and you think: hm not so bad, a little hole in the ground. Then a little setback«Cash only» lucky there’s a bank with an ATM in the same shopping center. Menu is on the wall… The food is excellent the treatment is great. Awesome, CONGRATS Tuto, you got it going on!!!

Delicious food, great service, cheap, I loved it and I’m picky about my Cuban food(since I grew up in a Cuban household) and This is great food. The croquettas were exceptionally delicious. Family owned resteraunt, not very fancy but its good food. My family and I went here for lunch– my parents loved it and I can say that kids do too because I am 12. My younger brother(9) also thought it was great food.

We stopped by Tuto’s on our way from the everglades, and we are so glad we did! The sandwiches here are off the hook. Tuto sat and chatted with us while we ate. He’s incredibly friendly and definitely one of the nicest people we met in Florida. I would highly recommend stopping here. Everyone who came in for a sandwich knew Tuto and smiled as they came in the door.
