You guys remember the old Jimbo’s in Key Biscayne, before our awesome elected cro-officials closed it down? Well I’d like to say that it came to the Toe Jam Backlot in Wynwood! I came by last night for the Secret Garden, a roving party that sets up music, food and exhibits in various fun spots in Miami. The event itself, at least early in the evening, was smoothly organized from the door and the anthemic EDMDJ set. Various bars were set up showcasing both beer and spirits, and all were taking debit cards. So back to Jimbos… Toe Jam is the gallery who has a mural of famous cinematic bad guys including Montana and Corleone on their NW21 St. Façade. The inside is a spacious asphalt lot that has the old wrecked school bus, various tiki huts and even a stray dog wandering around and inspecting the BBQ food truck that came by. The inside of the warehouse space had a pool table, another bar, and various sexy murals and mannequin sculptures. Heck, they even had Pinky the Unilocal BPB flamingo(or at least a close relative) there. I was told they also use the space as a sound stage for some intimate EDM shows during Winter Music Conference. Do like I did, stop by with a friend or two for a show, cool spiced rum drink, and crazy art.
