I absolutely love this place both of my doggies have been coming here for about 5 years now and I can say the staff is friendly and loving to all dogs. I love it here so much that even when I moved out of the area I still drive a significant distance to bring my munchies back to get groomed.

My dogs absolutely love going to Barks and Tales and they always come out great, no surprises. The little ties and bow ties are my fave :)

The staff at Barks and Tales is the BEST! They love animals, and are so wonderful. They are like family to my dog and me. Don’t let the kind-​of rough neighborhood scare you away from this place. My dog is so happy to see Danni and Felicia, even though she is very shy. They always make time for her, even if it’s a last-​minute appointment. Everyone there is so full of kindness. I love taking my dog to his locally-​owned business. I will admit I am a high-​maintenance dog mom, and have fired a LOT of groomers over the years — but I just love this place, and more importantly, so does my dog! Please give this wonderful business a chance, you will NOT be disappointed!

Beyond impressed! I have taken my dog to so many groomers and not one have I ever liked! This is the first haircut (he is 6 years old) I have ever loved for him and the vibes I got from all the people in here were so amazing! They treated my baby like the king he is! I have already told all my dog parent friends to bring their dogs here!
It was a little tough to find at first (maybe it was the downpour rain at the time) but the hidden gem is worth finding!

I took my Snorkie here for the first time and I must say, I’m extremely happy about my first experience. The staff is incredibly nice and understanding. They’re there to deliver exactly what you’re looking for and always keep your pets in mind. They cut my baby’s hair perfectly and treated him like the number 1 customer! I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to everyone! 5 thumbs up!!!

can’t say enough good things. my dog is very timid and needs special/​care attention for his anxiety and I feel very comfortable leaving him. the owner is a doll, and the work is always great.

This is my first ever Unilocal review, so it must tell a little about how I feel about Barks and Tails! They have been taking care of my dog Mikhos for the last 4 years. Since their Biscayne location. They treat him with so much love and the people here are so kind
We recently moved about 25 mins away (I was walking distance before) and I drove Mikhos over for a long overdue groom. I highly recommend Barks and Tails to any pet parent. Your babies will come out not only looking great, but also having gained new human friends who will love them and treat them just like you would want when your not around.
Reasonable prices, great service is an all win situation! Thank you all for what you do

Absolutely Love this place. I take my moms 2 dogs here and they always come out looking so good and smelling wonderful… She puts the cutest bandana on the boy and bow on the girl… The owner is super sweet. She always makes time for us. Because of my job, I call her last minute and she always takes them in.

I’ve been taking Shinobi to barks and tales for over 3 years and since the Biscayne location. I absolutely love them, and so does my puppy! Most importantly they’ve never hurt him during a grooming session. The new gentleman receptionist? Is not as good with the parents as the very sweet ladies, but I’m sure they will work on that. Another concern is I was convinced they were cage free, however today they put Shinobi in a kennel while I was leaving the building. Bark and tales, please don’t ruin our experience and let our little guys run free!

They are people who love their job and your dog. Not only did my german shepherd come out nicely groomed, she also came out very happy and comfortable with the people who took care of her. That’s what’s most important to me.

I found this wonderful place online and took my two pups Blake & Biscuit for thier first boarding ever. The staff is absolutely wonderful! Very welcoming, the space is very homey, they are really hood with my pups and love what they do!!! Anyone who is alittle nervous about dropping off your pup for daycare or boarding… this place is it! My babies didnt want to leave!!! I love this place! New loyal client!

I dropped my boy Koby to get groom at Barks and Tails for the first time on Monday. Felicia was the groomer. she did a wonderful job. I will definitely bring my dog back anytime he will need it.

I have a West Highland Terrier (Bella) and have brought her to B&T for a while. I live in the neighborhood so I wanted to find a place that I could trust. Each time I go there, they treat me and more importantly Bella very well. She gets very excited every time drop her off and with all my interaction with the staff over the years, you can tell that they really care. Along with all this, they have good prices, which can be hard to find.

I took my dog suchi here before for grooming, they did a wonderful Job and I am taking her again tomorrow. I can highly recommend this place. Outstanding groomers. I’m very excited about this place being suchis full time groomer whenever she needs to go.

For some reason, the building is boarded up now. All businesses apparently. Hmmm…

My husband took our west highland terrier for a bath and haircut at this place. When he picked her up, he noticed that the groomer looked very nervous ignoring the fact that she cut my dog in several places with the clipper machine.
My husband at the moment did not noticed it because my dog already had licked the area that was cut. When I got home all of her mouth was brown from the dried blood. I inspected her everywhere noticing that she had several cuts throughout her skin.
Honestly, we will never bring our dog there no matter if it’s a walk distance from our apt. Not worth to have your dog to go through that pain.

I recently moved from Miami Beach and needed to find a place to board my dog on short notice. Daniella was super helpful getting my paperwork in order from my vet and getting my dog in that afternoon. Boarding is far more affordable than anywhere on South Beach or Petsmart Pet Hotel. Best of all, she seems to connect with my dog. Usually my dog comes home stressed and sick from the boarder but she came home happy and healthy :)
I also took my dog here for grooming and was pleased with the results. They were accommodating to my schedule. The prices are very reasonable. We’ll definitely be back!

Let me tell you a little bit about Brandy. Brandy is a dachshund my lady friend and I rescued from the Dachshund Rescue of South Florida.
Shameless plug: if you’re in the market for a dog, RESCUE a dachshund (or, really, any other breed). They’re wonderful and loving and affectionate and a bunch of other things.
Brandy is a very anxious and protective dog. We theorize that it’s likely on account of her having lived on the streets prior to our having rescued her. She hates other dogs, and, occasionally, other people, too. Further, we like to inflate our senses of self by saying that she doesn’t want to share us with anything or anyone, but it’s likely on account of an evolutionary mutation. Brandy has gone as far as biting our neighbor’s rather large, unjustifiably-​illegal dog (you fill in the blank) right above the eye. Brandy fears nothing.
For this reason alone, Barks & Tales gets a big, fat five.
We’ve never had an issue or a complaint. In fact, despite Brandy’s aggressive nature, she’s always welcomed with a smile and returned to us with a snazzy little bandana. Now, this isn’t to say that Brandy likes being left in the care of the Barks & Tales staff. She absolutely hates it, but we know this has nothing to do with them and attribute it to Brandy’s overreaction to everything from a knock on the door to our refusal to let her climb into bed in the middle of the night.
We love Brandy. And considering that Barks & Tales boasts a wonderful staff, we’ll never take her to any other groomer.

Anyone who knows me is very well aware that I’m admittedly obsessed with my shih tzu (and extremely picky about her grooming). So much so, that she’s long been getting groomed in South Miami even though I live on Brickell Avenue. Those who know me also knows that I have an aversion to leaving the Brickell area unless it’s absolutely necessary. I hate driving. But, driving to South Miami was well worth it because the groomer there was the only one that left my little Lychee exactly the way I wanted her to look.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), I found out yesterday that our beloved groomer is no longer grooming. So, I was forced to scramble in an effort to find a viable alternative. I’m sure that anyone reading this would think our situation was no big deal since there are dog groomers on every other block in Miami, but the few times I’ve attempted to try other groomers I’ve been disappointed and poor little Lychee has turned up looking not-so-pretty…for lack of a better term.
In my state of utter desperation, I of course turned to Unilocal where I found that Barks & Tales Dog Spa had great reviews are was not too far from home. So, I called Barks & Tales Dog Spa yesterday afternoon and effortlessly made an appointment for Lychee with the Spa’s owner who was very accommodating. We arranged that Lychee would be dropped off this morning between 8:30 and 9:00 am.
Since my Mom was doing me the favor of dropping Lychee off, I sent a list of dos and don’ts to the groomer in an effort to give her an idea of what I wanted the cut to look like. To my pleasant surprise, I received a call from her a short while later asking for clarification regarding one of the points.
A few hours after that, Lychee emerged from Barks & Tales Dog Spa with a smile on her furry face and a spring in her step. Lychee looks absolutely perfect and I couldn’t be happier. As if that weren’t enough, I got $ 5 off for being a new customer and Barks & Tales Dog Spa is cage FREE! Lychee is undoubtedly the Spa’s newest loyal customer! This glowing review means a lot coming from a dog owner as picky as me, so if you’re new in town or merely looking to try a new groomer, look no further!
