Taipa Peruvian Food Truck

Maybe I went on a bad day? Maybe I’m spoiled by Peruvian friends parents cooking lol? But was very excited for this restaurant and terribly disappointed fried rice was mushy flavorless white rice. And I waited a while for it my boyfriend got chicken and it smelled bad he took it all out.

This is the best food truck in Miami and one of my favorites places to eat Peruvian food, my husband is from Peru so we have been in almost every Peruvian restaurant in Miami and this is simply amazing, food is always fresh. I love the ceviche, and their chicken sandwich (I add lettuce and tomato and all the sauces)… My husband’s favorite is the lomo saltado, he says is the best from Miami.
It’s a must go!!! We live in Doral and we always drive to Kendall just to eat here!

First time trying food from this truck as my fiancé discovered it. I ordered Arroz Chaufa de Pollo because I know it’s a really good Peruvian dish. I always order Lomo Saltado at every Peruvian place I’ve tried but decided to go for this fried rice. It was good however, I have to say it was just a bit salty for my taste. I don’t like salty foods and can be plain sometimes so you may enjoy it more than I did. Next time I go, I will try their Lomo Saltado because it’s definitely my fave Peruvian dish. Oh! And if you check-​in, you’ll receive a free soda :) look out for that!

What a nice little find! I’m normally at another food truck nearby but we spotted Taipa and another truck in this spot and decided to give them a try. We ordered the lomo saltado and I must say it is on my top five list. The meat is juicy, flavorful and seasoned. The fries are a little bit soggy but that’s okay! They were absorbing all of the meat’s juices and flavor, double score. The vegetables were cooked and soft, no crunchy veggies to take away from the texture of the meal as a whole. As a food truck, they went above and beyond my expectations for the lomo saltado we ordered. I’m pretty sure we will be back in the next couple of weeks to try more !

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Taipa before!
This is one of my favorite places to get Peruvian food; it has a small menu, but all of it it’s great. The girl that takes your order is super friendly, the food is really good and it’s cheaper than going to a restaurant. I recommend ordering for pick up or calling ahead so your food is ready, because it gets very hot sometimes.
My favorites are salchipapa, anticucho with rachi, lomo saltado and ceviche. When ordering the salchipapa, add all sauces!
It’s better to go early because it gets super packed sometimes. There is plenty of parking space.

I love the pollo saltado sandwiches at the Taipa Peruvian Food Truck, but the spicy ceviche is great, too.
I never have gotten a bad order from this truck, and the servers are always really nice.

This was literally a lucky find! I was just driving around trying to decide what to eat when I saw that Peruvian Flag which is an indication of great food nearby!
I arrived a little after 7 which is a perfect time because there was only 1 person there and he was Peruvian! Another good indication of good food. The trucks are parked at a Church so there’s plenty of parking if you arrive early. The young lady taking the orders was very friendly and helpful. Their menu isn’t big, but it covers the basics and the prices are fair.
I went with my favorite Lomo Saltado (with no veggies of course) and it was delicious! Very flavorful and very tender. The portion is perfect, especially for the price. I had a Chicha Morada (bottled) which wasn’t bad at all and I wanted dessert, but I was too full afterwards they do have a variety of desserts. I absolutely see myself becoming a regular here. They’re there everyday starting at 7PM til way past my bedtime.
I will admit I was very impressed with the quality of the food, especially being that nowadays EVERYONE has a food truck. You won’t be disappointed with this spot.

Excellent service, delicious food. Taipa is going to be regular favorite of mine. I recommend ordering for pick up, that’s what I did and the food was ready right away.

Amazing Peruvian food! I love everything about this food truck! It’s basically a restaurant on wheels! The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. I always get the «mixto» which is anticuchos (beef hearts) and tripe grilled with potatoes and Peruvian giant corn. The sandwiches are also flavorful and huge! In Peru «taipa» means to serve someone extra (larger quantity) and they sure do honor their name. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often! They’re also opened until late but I recommend calling ahead to make sure they’re still there since sometimes they run out things quickly!

This was yummy and pretty on point. Great Peruvian food, fast! The lomo salteado was very tasty. A must try! :-)

Got in from our flight from Colombia and after unpacking all the traditional restaurants were closed, so I said to the Mrs. Let’s go try that food truck over by the Church. Glad we did. The Mrs. ordered the anticuchos /​panza mixto (combo). It was out of this world. Beef heart is normally very tough, but this was as soft as beef tongue and absolutely incredible. I ordered the ceviche and I asked for it to be medium spicy. Warning, this is plenty spicy, and delicious too. They are only open from 7pm until midnight so don’t stay out too late and miss this great food truck.

Food taste great. Delivery faster than pizza. Latin flavor with a perfect touch. Pet friendly because my dog absolutely loves the sweet potato fries. lol

I see no reason not to give these guys 5 stars. I drove by, stopped in for a quick tasty homecooked meal and thats what I got. Very comforting. Very satisfying.
The owner was friendly and patient with my questions. I learned what Chaufa means (Peruvian Fried Rice) what Huacatay is (spicy green salsa (see my pic). I appreciated her help very much.
Lomo Saltado ($ 9) is large chunks of (very tender!) beef (stir fried?) With chunky pieces of tomato and red onion which I loved! The beef is placed on top of french fries with a side of rice (white or Chaufa– ala Fried Rice) I got it with the white and Im glad I did! The fries soak up the yummy meat drippings and sauce/​oil they use to sauté the meat. The meat was perfectly cooked and tender SUPER IMPORTANT. This dinner at Taipa hit the spot.

1^st visit. 4.15.15 Ordered Pescado frito, lomo saltado, and maduros. Ceviche was not available tonight. Hoping to come back and try ceviche.
Pescado frito
Crunchy light breading and deliciously flaky with soft tasty fresh fish under. Accompanied by fries and white rice. I recommend this dish.
Maduros fried just at the right temperature! Crisp outside, Soft and sweet inside.
Lomo saltado
The meat was good quality tender cooked well. I really wish this dish came with more sauce to mix my rice and fries. Other then this the flavor was good. The owner suggested to request sauce next time since alot of their customers didnt like sauce in their rice.
Good 1^st visit. Tasty good, quality ingredients, reasonable priced. Ill be back for the ceviche.

Best Peruvian food in Kendall! Yes– from a food truck. I’ve been to pretty much every Peruvian spot in this area and this is hands down my favorite. Also best bang for your buck! They really know what they’re doing and they are very friendly and passionate about their cuisine too. I complimented them on my meal, and they were so happy and proud to hear it. Also– since it does sometimes get busy, I love that you can call and order ahead to take the food to-​go. But if it’s a nice night, set aside some time and enjoy the experience of smelling the aromas all around you while sitting amongst other foodies.

I came here recommended by a friend. I even brought my mom (who is very picky when it comes to peruvian food) once and, unbelieveably, she LIKED IT! Anticuchos and rachi are my fave. Not a problem ordering from a bus, it is actually a different kind of night out. The only downside is that it’s next to a church… so I have to watch my pocket for any pastors around, and keep an eye if I come with a child… in case any perverted priests walk by, lol, j/​k.

The food is really good! Salchipapa is amazing! The only suggestion I have is for them to clean the Peruvian Flag is absolutely disgusting and is sad to see that the one thing that represents their country is in such a bad shape! The flag is an icon and it deserves respect please don’t just use it to attract people give the respect and honor it deserves! I’m actually not Peruvian I’m Colombian and the little food truck next to this is not any better in regards to the flag (food I don’t know because I came to eat Peruvian food) but please give take care of your flag as much as you take care of your amazing food and costumer service!!!

We ordered the lomo saltado with arroz chaufa and spicy ceviche. The lomo was good but not better than other places I’ve been to like (el chalan and dr. limon) and their spicy ceviche is REALLY spicy — too spicy.
Another thing is that their ceviche is not fresh. For sure it had been sitting in lime juice for at least 8 hours, fish was mushy.
Overall it was good fast food and its awesome that they open late till 12am and they accept credit cards. Customer service was awesome, the lady that took our order was really nice and knowledgeable.

It was okay. Nothing really special. I went recently with a friend. I had spicy ceviche (marinaded raw fish) and an Inca Cola.
The menu is barely legible. It’s been raining lately and the ink started to run on the page. The ceviche comes with corn nuts, corn, and sweet potato. Presentation is nothing special; I was served on a styrofoam plate. Since the plate doesn’t have any divisions, the sweet potatoes were soaked in spicy marinade from the start. I didn’t know how the sweet potato was prepared, the menu doesn’t say, so I assumed it was baked; it wasn’t, it was just a few fried chips. Not much I can say about corn nuts and the corn except it wasn’t bad. The ceviche tasted surprisingly well. I like my ceviche a little cold which mine wasn’t and it took about 15 mins to get mine so I’m not sure if it was exactly «fresh». Spicy marinade is really spicy. If you can’t handle spicy foods then ask for mild (again, not on the menu).
You eat outside on a foldout table and chairs. It’s close to a field and in this weather mosquitos are unbearable. If it’s been raining, take it home.
Overall, it was a decent experience. Probably not one of the first places I’d think of to go to if I’m looking for a Peruvian food truck but, decent.
