Description

Specialties

McCormick Place, located in the heart of Downtown Miami, is home to a diverse selection of creative studios and businesses.

History

Established in 2012.

The original building, constructed in 1924, was first a US Customs Warehouse serving as storage of confiscated goods and look-out post for the nefarious characters coming into Miami via the Biscayne Bay and the Miami River. The property was purchased in 1970 by Edward J McCormick, Sr. and dedicated to his father, Dr. James McCormick. Now, three generations later, Sean McCormick is not only reviving this venue but the Downtown area, creating the epicenter for the cultural crossroads of Miami. McCormick Place is a vibrant production-based event space featuring various well known artists.

Meet the Business Owner

Sean M.

Business Owner

Sean McCormick, the curator behind the venue, describes it as «a place where any idea can come to life». All Miami walks of life were elated with the magic created on September 7th, Business leaders, Socialites, Artists, and Politian’s alike. The common comment overheard amongst the guests was: «This venue makes me feel like I’m in New York City, but in Miami.» Sean was ecstatic to see such a diverse people come to attend and support the Grand Opening. Both he and Mayor Tomas Regalado stopped several times remarking on how art brings a sense of community to all. «Seeing all that I envisioned for this space come to life, is purely amazing.»

McCormick Place is available for any individual or organization that is looking to do events during Art Basel or any other event during Miami’s busy, seemingly never ending season. The space is wonderful for holiday parties, corporate events, dinners, etc.
