«This was by far one of the best tours I have ever been on.» — Tina Bucuvalas, former President of the Florida Folklore Society and author of South Florida Folklife
On my 3-hour walking tour, immerse yourself in Cuban and other Latin American traditions: Music and dance. Spiritual practices and folk remedies. Favorite local ingredients, dishes and food customs. Murals. The arts of cigar making and domino playing.
Experience the neighborhood’s flavors and fusions with all of your senses (including tastings) — I can even play music related to what we’re seeing, if you want. And take a peek into a world of secret codes, hidden layers and connections with Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Europe — past and present.
I promise not to give you the same worn out stories being told over and over again in travel articles and by tour guides. I am not about reinforcing limiting stereotypes about Cubans, other Latinos, or this neighborhood itself. I refuse commissions and am the only tour guide that can offer my guests discounts at a range of local businesses.
If you really wants to learn about this area (versus just snap a few photos of it), then this tour is for you. I can customize it in many ways (e.g., music, dance, Santeria, foreign policy, politics, cuisine, murals, Black heritage, etc.). I love to customize my tours.

History
Established in 2011.
I start offering my tours in 2006, when I was Executive Director of Viernes Culturales. I wanted to share my cherished neighborhood with others, and help build understanding and appreciation for the artistic, cultural and historic contributions of those who helped it earn its name, Little Havana, and those who’ve given it such soul.
I started my formal tour business in 2011, and began giving tours regularly, but in 2013 I entered graduate school (earning a Ph.D. in Anthropology) and now offer only private, custom tours.
Here’s what people say about my tours:
«Our guide Corinna was passionate about Little Havana and knows it inside and out. The tour let our group be insiders for a day and get to know the real people, places and treasures of the area. We had a blast! I couldn’t recommend this experience more highly.» — Jessie (Boston, MA)
«…one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had on vacation! Thanks for the cultural experience!» — Whitney (Chicago, IL)

Business Owner
I am a cultural anthropologist who has lived in the barrio of East Little Havana for more than nine years, also serving as Executive Director of Little Havana’s monthly arts festival, Viernes Culturales, and co-founding the Little Havana Merchant Alliance. I am co-author of «A History of Little Havana» (The History Press, 2015), which you can find on Amazon and in local bookstores.
I have led unique tours of the neighborhood since 2006, focusing on its history since 1960 and on Cuban/Latin American arts, history and cultural traditions. I am currently completing my Ph.D. in Anthropology at Florida International University, for which my dissertation is focused on Little Havana. I am also earning Graduate Certificates in Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Afro Latin-American Studies.
I love my neighborhood and my neighbors. I am a tireless researcher and talk to everyone — from all walks of life — and as an advocate for Little Havana am a trusted figure in my community.
