Blo Blow Dry Bar

Seems like for the most part reviews vary based on the individual stylist (makes sense). Unfortunately I had a terrible experience and it was a complete waste of money. I booked a blow out in advance of a gala event I was attending. Fortunately I was promptly checked in. It was also very convenient to book the appointment online. My stylist, however, did not speak fluent English (and I do not speak Spanish). This made it very difficult to communicate. The Blo website advertises 7 different types of «blo outs», but my stylist did not attempt to explain these options to me. Instead she said «blo out with some waves, yes?» which I agreed to, as this sounded in line with the look I was going for. Unfortunately instead of nice, beachy waves surrounded by a professional-​looking blow out, I looked like a child who was trying to use a curling wand for the first time. It looked like a wind blown, incomplete mess. I was shocked when she said we were done. It looked terribly unfinished. Fortunately I left the salon with plenty of time to go home and fix my hair before my event. My husband, who normally does not notice my hair, commented to me when I got home about how terrible it looked. It’s too bad, since I live in Brickell and I’m happy to spend $ 40 – 50 for a nice blow out every once in awhile, but this was by far the worst hair salon experience I’ve ever had.

I was so disappointed with this whole situation. I got there early — 120 for a 130 appointment — and was taken back for a hair wash a few minutes later. I had booked a blowout and the 10 minute massage. I sat down in the wash chair at 126 and was back out of it at 130. Okay, clearly didn’t get the 10 min hair/​head massage — fine as long as they don’t try to charge me for it. They did. I told them no, I wouldn’t be paying for a service that wasn’t rendered.
What was really bad, though, was that I specifically requested someone who could add a lot of curl to shoulder length fine hair. My stylist spent exactly 20 minutes blowing out and curling my hair and when she stopped she looked at me in the mirror and said «all done» — I met her eyes and raised my eyebrows and said, «oh you’re done? Can I at least check the back?» So I take a look and basically the bottom half of my hair is curled and the top is not. So I ask for more curl. And I ask for her to tight curl the pieces around my face. Within 20 minutes of walking out of the salon, my curls had mostly fallen out. I didn’t have a backup plan as I was in Miami for a wedding, so I went with super limp, lame hair. And in case it’s a question — though my hair is on the shorter side and is fine, when it’s done correctly it holds a curl for hours (even in humid weather).
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’ve had much, much better blowouts at Dry Bar and independent salons. Don’t waste your money here.

Love my hair ! I forgot my hair dressers name but she did a great job told her I was in a rush but I wanted my hair to have volume and some curl to it and she did just that. Totally worth it and definitely coming back again :)

First time here and I absolutely love my hair! Asked for beach waves and that’s exactly what I got! Ask for Karla she’s amazing! Definitely coming back!

This place has the most amazing Evelyn was so friendly the moment I walked in. She even offered to tell us where to go out after we left with amazing hair! Ciyuana rocks. She worked her magic on my difficult to manage hair. I will most certainly be back!

Wanted a quick dry style and only had 20 mins. I was a walk in and my stylist was T who did an amazing job!!! I walked in with limp, stringy hair and walked out with a mix of beachy-​loose Hollywood curls. I will definitely be back.

Most u accommodating place ever! I got to my appt. One minute late and the ladies refused to help me I walked out crying and no sympathy whatsoever. Although I’ve been there numerous times I will never go again!!!

I came to Miami from Qatar last night and after the 15 hour flight my hair was dreadful. I washed it but because of the humidity I had to wear a cap all night. Blo was across my accommodation and I ended up booking a last minute appointment. Ashley was my stylist and she did a wonderful job. My hair felt light and the curls lasted all day. The staff was so friendly and they recommended some weightless shampoo. It was a great experience and I’ll definitely go back on my next trip to Miami.

On a visit to sunny Miami and badly needed a refreshing wash and blow. Found them by Unilocal and called for a last minute appointment. Very polite and patient on the phone. I arrived and was greeted by a friendly stylist called Andrea. Very cheerful and warm. Asked me how I like the temp of the water bef she washed my hair. Also helped me in selecting the style to blow my hair. Took less than 40 mins and I left the salon feeling fresh and energized. Only wish their washing station chair is more comfortable and their price is a bit lower. Otherwise, all good!

I came to Blo Brickell for quick blow dry on my lunch break due to a work event that evening.
Let’s face it, who has time to blow dry their hair and do a good joby? I know I don’t! Plus I hate blow drying my hair.
I arrived at 12:45pm and made them aware I had to return to work within 30 – 40 minutes. I was immediately attended by Chanel.
As she was washing my hair, she asked me how I liked it. Since I have fine hair, I prefer volume. She immediately began blow drying my hair and within 30 minutes she was done. She did a great job and I made it back to work on time. Very friendly staff and great service. I will be returning for future blow dries ;)

I can’t say enough great things about the ladies from Blo.
Per my wedding planner’s recommendation we hired them to do both my hair & makeup, my two bridesmaids and my mom. We were all blown away by the final products and the professionalism and overall friendliness of the ladies. We worked with Chanel for hair and Daniela for makeup.
They made my hair & makeup look exactly how I wanted on the big day — I was floored!
I wish I could visit them all the time, but unfortunately I live in California. Go visit the girls and you won’t be disappointed!

I always leave Blo blow dry bar a happy customer. Their signature styles are always on point, I don’t have to worry about leaving with something that I did not expect! All the stylists and the owner Fatima make me feel right at home when I go there. Despite having a full schedule of clients I can always count on them trying to accommodate a last-​minute appointment for me, you can’t go wrong coming here! Love my beachy waves

This is such a late review because I have only been there once for my birthday because my usual location (Midtown) had no last minute openings and I needed an appointment. Better late than never.
I was dropped off so I can’t say anything regarding parking to get here but there is a garage walking distance from this Blo location. I cannot remember my hairdresser’s name but she was INCREDIBLE! I took my own extensions and what she did to my hair was magic. I have curly hair but I wanted big, long, bold waves in my hair and that is exactly what she gave me in about 40 – 45 minutes. I received so many compliments that night and I’m so glad they had that one appointment available. She was so worth the $ 55 I spent on my hair. Keep it up Blo! Xo

I love Blo! The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and do a great job. They only use the best of the best products so your hair looks AND feels amazing all night. I wish I could come here everyday. I recommend making an appointment way ahead of time because they get very booked very quickly.

So I was utterly «blown» away with my experience here and it was truly love at first sight. The blowdry bar is hip and trendy with touches of pink, glam and chic all bubbled into one location. I immediately noticed and very much appreciated their insanely good marketing. They creatively use terms that make you giggle to yourself like when they referred to my blowdry as «taming my tresses» or even when they assured me that booking a blo did not mean I was cheating on my hairdresser– it was just wash, blo and goooo– scissors are verboten– (german for forbidden)
From the minute Lenny took over my hair, I knew she was the real thing. It was exactly what I needed, wanted and was hoping for from this place.
This will definitely be my go to place from now on! Operation NapsBeGone is underway!!! woohoo…

Update to my previous review…
It is now day two that I have been trying to get a hold of the «owner» of this so called salon and she refuses to contact me back after more than 10 attempts to try and speak over the phone with her.
The hair extensions are shedding and breaking beyond belief. I’ve taken extremly great care of this hair. It feels like some type of cheap barbie hair. Every time I pass a comb through it, it looks more brittle and cheap!
I haven’t even had it for a month!
Stay away from this place if you care about your wallet and your hair !!
