The Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building is Miami’s only Art Deco skyscraper and a representation of Depression Moderne Architecture.
The Mezzanine level began its utilization as a Special Events Venue in 2001. With elegant historical detail and understatedly opulent décor, the Venue, a former bank headquarters — complete with teller windows and two bank vaults — quickly became a highly sought-after Event Venue for an enterprising clientele looking for Miami style accented with New York glamour.
History
Established in 1939.
The 17-story Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building was the first skyscraper constructed in Miami after the completion of the Dade County Courthouse in 1928, signaling the city’s economic recovery from the Great Depression.
Opened on Christmas Day, 1939, the Building was designated an Historic Landmark in 1992 and became a Dade Heritage Trust Inductee in 1999. The Mezzanine of The Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building’s interior was restored by its current ownership in 1992 and complimented with an almost 2-year exterior restoration project completed in 2005.
