Hyatt Regency Miami

I“m a Hyatt regular and have stayed at Hyatt’s many times. This location was awesome, the greeting i got when i arrived was crazy.
i had called last minute to see if they had rooms, the lady told me no challenge. I told her i’d be there in 20 mins for my $ 259 per night room, she said drive safe.
When i arrived the lady told me that they were sold out and no rooms. I said i just called and was told no problem.
She would see what she could do.
then she told me sorry, no rooms.
i told her i had already valet parked and my wife and i have unloaded the car… she said sorry.
i said (in a louder tone) that sorry was not going to cut it and i needed the room they just promised me to go back into that back office and fine one.
Very distraught she went back into the office and found me a room
i only needed it for 3 nights. (can you imagine at $ 249 per night)
and oh ya, $ 38 per night for parking too.
never again will li stay at «this Hyatt» and since this experience, I’ve gone back to Marriott.

This hotel is located in downtown Miami, in the business district, on Brickell Ave. next to the draw bridge. Stayed one night, basically just to sleep, using reward points. we’ve stayed here before several times. Hotel reflects the condition of the Miami downtown business district, a little frayed. Staff attitude is still good. Property needs rennovation $ for updating. Examples: club lounge elevator benches are mismatched cheap vinyl covered, one blue one «white», better without unless they are covering something; in the room a pair of slippers would be nice for the mottled darkish carpet. Hotel is surrounded by other highrises. The view of the Brickell bridge is fun. See pics.
The short stay was a good experience though. Took a 10 minute walk along Brickell over the river while waiting for our car. Very nice.

Rooms are dated through I like staying with Hyatt since they give you an option to upgrade rooms for nominal charge of 25 $; which gives you access to regency lounge for the entire family. So far so good.

It is an old outdated facility but as I had booked a top tower suite, inside of my room was very clean and comfortable. It is not the best hotel I have stayed at therefore a three + AN EXTRA ONE star for the very warming welcome I received on my first visit to Miami for the New Year celebration. Views of river or any water do not really exist, it’s just a small peak from the side or front. None of the restaurants offer any good eating options unless you like cafeteria or frozen meal type food. I was kept alive by Starbucks in lobby serving coffee, drinks and snack items.

Professional front desk folks and a clean, good size room. They gave me cuties and a plum (even though I couldn’t eat them until my fitness show was over.) It was delish! Nothing extraordinary with our standard room; we’re fine with that. Very pleasant stay. Walking distance to the Whole Foods across the street made it a big plus because I was on contest prep (was there for the Miami National Bodybuilding show) and I had ran out of Rice Cakes and peanut butter. The café/​restaurants at this hotel had some pretty good selections on their menu. We’ll be coming back for more stays!

Stayed here on business on ¹²⁄₁₅ and was very impressed with the room and hospitality of the staff. The Regency Club is always a nice treat for breakfast. The only complain is the off-​site parking. It’s quite a hike and the parking deck has no airflow, making your car insufferably hot on a typical Miami morning.
Overall this is a top 10 nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. 5 stars if for no other reason than the very nice hotel staff.

The worse parking garage!!! Set in garage for over 2 hours due to graduation. Will NEVER go to a venue at the Knight Center again!

First, congrats to me, 1000 reviews and many more to come! Multiple continents and countries, dozens of cities. All of them fun. As Jerry Garcia once said, what a long strange trip it’s been.
We had a very positive experience here. The entire staff is exceptional. We have not encountered such service anywhere else and to find it in this day and age is very rare. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was very friendly, very professional, very helpful. Free wi-​fi is a great perk.
I agree with other reviewers that the rooms need updating. Our room on the 20^th floor was stuffy and the air cleaner had to run all day and night. Even so, we both got stuffed up from air that is presumably not that clean. Bathrooms are very dated. The TV in our room appeared not to be hi-​def? Or maybe reception was poor or the TV or poor quality.
There are some housecleaning problems that need to be addressed. The bottom sheet was stained when we arrived and was not changed until day 3 of our 4 night stay. The floor was not vacuumed until day 3. Some days we get 2 wash cloths, another days only 1. Who knows?
That said, I am loyal to Hyatt so I overlook the small stuff and focus on the total experience, and it was excellent. Location cannot be beat. The in-​house restaurant is very good. The top floor club is an exceptional deal for those who qualify. and everyone will make you fell welcome and appreciated.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I don’t want this review to be a reflection of the staff, who were all very nice and helpful during our stay. This hotel is just plain and simply in horrible shape. The room product probably last had a refresh pre-​2005. We were upgraded to a nice large suite, but still, this is lowest quality Hyatt I have ever stayed at. The rooms were drab, smelled of milldew/​febreeze, and the bathroom was tiny with less light than a cave at night. They are doing the best they can over there, but this hotel is in serious need of a renovation.
I definitely would steer clear until ownership (city of Miami — no wonder it sucks) or Hyatt (need to force a PIP) step in and fix it up.
PS — worst wifi service I’ve ever had as well.

The best location and reasonable price! We can use a bus or mover and easy access to everywhere. Their room is very clean too. You can save a lot of money to stay there because Other hotels in South Beach are very expensive and small rooms too. The guest services are friendly and they will give you answers what you ask for.

My experience at the Hyatt was great. All of the employees really go out of their way to help you. Everyone is incredibly nice from the front desk to the cleaning ladies.
Minus stars for finding roaches and gecko’s inside the hotel, but luckily they were not inside my room. The room was clean with plenty of towels. I had a balcony but the doors were sealed shut, that kind of sucked. The view was decent though.
The hotel pool was also closed for renovation during our stay but they were signs stating that we could go use the nearby Marriot’s pool but it just seemed like a major hassle and inconvenience.
There’s lots of places to chill, eat, shop or just charge your device. The décor is visually appealing. Service was definitely the best thing about this place.

The room smelled very strongly of cheap bathroom cleaner. Something must have been recently scrubbed out of the carpet or bathroom. It was so bad I wanted to change rooms but we did not arrive until after midnight. Besides the smell the room was very dated and of poor quality. Not at all what I expected from a Hyatt Regency.

My husband just spent the weekend at the Hyatt Regency for the Stromae concert at the James L Knight center. I was very hesitant going into our stay because of the reviews I had seen. Someone said their things were stolen out of the room, the beds were uncomfortable, the rooms were dirty. I found our experience to be completely opposite. We were greeted and quickly checked in, our room was clean and view of the river was very nice. We spent some time at the bar and the cocktails were good. We were able to go through the hotel lobby right to the convention center which was wonderful. Overall it was a nice stay, no complaints here.

The lobby looks nice and clean. The have a decent breakfast buffet and a nice bar that closes at midnight daily.
The location is great. Its close to downtown where you can walk around at night.
However, the rooms are so outdated. Some parts of the room looks so dingy.
The service is great though. They respond quickly and calls back to make sure you got what you ordered.

We arrived on ⁷⁄₂₅. We got room 718. When we came to the room it smelled like a smokers room. They told us that the hotel is non smoking. They brought an ozone machine to try and remove the smell. It didn’t go away. We weren’t offered another room. Today, 7/​28, we came vback to the room at 11:45pm and the housekeeping service hadn’t cleaned the room. We caller the reception desk and the told us that it is too late and don’t have housekeeping and the only thing they could do is send someone to pickup the trash and brings us clean towels. The service in this hotel is horrible. At $ 159 per night this is not the kind of service I was expecting. Also no fridge at all in the room. In 2015, no fridge, really? Do not waste your money in this place.
UPDATE: i have increased the review to two stars because upon checkout they credited me two nights worth off Hyatt points for the trouble and they apologized throughly. However, I think this hotel needs a revamp, rooms need to be updated, carpets need to be steam cleaned and the managers need to rake responsibility for all the mistakes.
They are in an excellent location and they could charge better rates if they offered the true Hyatt experience.

I was booked to this hotel through a conference. Read the reviews, and they are all true still. I was holding out hope that this wouldn’t be the case… Our TV is broken, and our safe won’t work. Although the staff is amazingly nice, there is no follow through. I have requested three times for someone to come up, and also had a billing question. Every time, the front desk would have them fix/​call/​come up right away. No one yet…
In addition, the headboards are worn.
I am all about a great deal, so now for the good things…
–Great breakfast. Nice selection. It is cheaper to order off the menu instead of the buffet.
–Cheapest in the downtown area and easy access if you don’t mind walking a mile to the beaches.
–If you walk the opposite way, you end up in the Cuban area. Best food at a great price!
–Location is great and a safe area.
Tips–
–They have a partnership with Exhale Florida Spa since the hotel doesn’t have one. Take advantage of this deal!!! $ 30 bucks gets you full access to ALL their workout classes, full gym, sauna, and beautiful full service pool for an entire week. It is .2 miles. Literally across the street in Epic Hotel. You can ask the front desk, or use your phone app– MINDBody Connect. Best deal ever!
–There is also a Whole Foods across the street. You can get water there for .99 $. (It is $ 6.50 in your room.
So…if you are on a budget, and want a full Miami experience, and don’t mind walking a little, then this is your place!

Went to check in at 6pm and no room matching my reservation available yet. Waited 2 hours and still no room (clearly one was not going to be available at that time of night). The manager did a nice job stepping in to help the front desk clerk upgrade me to a bigger, nicer room at the same price. The room was spectacular and clean. The beds and pillows are plush and lots of windows to let in natural light.
No complaints other than delay in getting a room. Rates were reasonable too.
The construction near the hotel made traffic getting to and from the hotel a real challenge. I used Über and the hotel cab people aren’t friendly to the Über people, so that makes it a little tricky.
There is an outside seating area near the front desk to smoke a cigar. Would be better if there was outdoor seating for cigar smoking closer to the bar and the water causeway for a better view.

In Miami’s sleek and modern core, the Hyatt Regency feels like a neglected and broken relic. Electrical outlets that don’t work. Popcorn ceilings and 1980s carpeting. A door lock so janky that it required me to swipe my key 5 – 10 times each time I entered the room. A hair dryer with a cord so short you can’t reach the other side of your head. A mattress pad so small for the bed that it bunched uncomfortably in the middle of the night. A dingy and cramped workout room in the basement with just two treadmills for 600+ guest rooms. Cleaning staff that chat so loudly in the hallway that they wake you up. Inept front-​door staff directing me and another party to the same taxi, leading to needless friction.
This was easily the worst «luxury hotel» (Hyatt’s words for this property) that I’ve stayed in. If you can stay somewhere else, you should.

I dig this property, it’s in a cool area of town which has lots of great things to see and do, all within walking distance. The hotel is large, with stores in the loby, a nice gym, and a cool pool area. The staff is very friendly.
However, my biggest gripe is the rooms, mine was dated. Room 2033 felt like 1987 to me — just saying.
I was here for a work conference and the staff did a nice job keeping everything running well. I got a chance to visit the on site bar, which was chill and had a good happy hour, my problem keeps getting back to the dated room, my grade is between 3 and 4 stars, but falls back to 3 stars.

This location is in the heart of downtown Miami Brickell area. Its also along side the Miami river. The hotel share entrances with the knight center theater and walking distance from the Miami convention center .Also near by a few eateries like the capital grille. I have to show some love to Priceline!!. I booked this room on a blind bid on price line for 65 bucks. Making this a huge steal since book price is 179– 250 bucks a night.
Checking in the hotel was a breeze. There were at least 3 staff members at the counter at all times. And two computers to self check in. The lobby area was very spacious. There are three restaurants located inside this property.
River walk café– typical american breakfast, lunch and dinner
River walk deli — Togo coffee shop that serves bagels, muffins, take and go
sandwiches and drinks.
Pure Verde Lounge– basically a bar share the same menu with river walk café
The rooms are semi dated, but very clean. My room on the eighth floor had a view of the Miami river. Desk is separate from the tv. Had two bottle water for sale for 5.50 each (ouch). Free coffee and coffee maker. In room safe. All TVs are preset with a a prerecording of music and nature settings. Ok sized Bathrooms with KenetMD toiletries .
Parking is very high. Valet only 35 dollars a night. They were bit slow returning my vehicle upon check out. There are two metro mover stations close (river walk Kight center station) and by and the fare is extremely affordable (free). Taxi to Miami beach is at-​least 25 dollars oneway.
Over all great hotel for the price I paid.
