Red South Beach Hotel

I had a decent stay here for a couple of nights. this is within close walking distance from Lincoln Road and Lincoln Road mall. It will take a few more blocks to reach South Beach which is still not too far. The beaches are just another block away if you wanted to go that route. Along the beach near this hotel is a very lovely and peaceful tree canopied boardwalk that ends approximately where Ocean Drive begins.
The hotel provides all the standard services that you would get in any other hotel. This is a boutique style hotel with relatively small rooms. These rooms, however, are well furnished with trendy means of storage and furniture in their signature red and white theme. There is a pool out in front surrounded by landscape for privacy though you can still kind of see Collins Avenue from there. I would say the pool area is my favorite part of this place. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs. The bar service is quick, but the restaurant service from our experience has been relatively slow. The staff has been apologetic for slow wait times though. The staff in general are hospitable as they should be and willing to answer all your questions.
I would recommend this place for anyone and was not looking for a five star corporate style hotel, but still want a nice clean place to rest your head during a break from your adventures in Miami Beach.

Solid 3.5 star hotel that is often featured at a much better than average price for the immediate neighborhood (Collins and 32^nd St).
Very nice lobby, bar and restaurant area, and pool deck overlooking Collins Ave (not hidden in the back of the hotel which is standard in this area). I give them 3.5 stars as the rooms are well decorated and clean, but quite small for this area. The pool scene is great here and the ocean right across the street, yet the bar is in the expensive side ($ 12+ for most cocktails) and no drink, club specials etc. puts this in the no frills category. Also, expect a bit of a walk or short Über/​Lyft ride to get down to Lincoln Road or SoBe. There are a handful of restaurants in the immediate area though. The relative quietness of this hotel may be most welcome for some.

One of the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I should’ve taken the negative comments a bit more seriously. I was fooled a bit because someone from the hotel management tool the time to reply to the negative comments while not addressing any of the issues.
Here are some facts and not my opinion
— the smell of urine was all over my floor
— elevators are very slow
— the towels had stains
— the pillow covers had stains
— rooms are very small
— bed sheets were either very old or just dirty
— the blow dryer didn’t work
— the thermostat says 70 but it’s much warmer than that and you can’t do much about it
— walls are paper thin
— even the lobby has no ac
— staff extremely RUDE and here is just one example. When I was checking out, one of the lady picks up the wakie takie and tells someone to check if I have taken anything from the room in Spanish. She didn’t know I understood Spanish.

Zenaida at the front desk was incredibly helpful, as were most of the rest of the staff. The concierge, not so much.
I stayed at this hotel in February and specifically requested a quiet room. Unfortunately, none of the rooms were that quiet — seems to be the nature of the area. The staff were accommodating and helped me find and move to a different room for my second night, which helped. The climate control didn’t seem to work in either room, though that was also the case in another hotel I stayed at in the area, so I don’t know if it’s specific to one hotel or endemic to the area.
I also left an item there and stopped by afterward to check on whether it had turned up, but they couldn’t find it at the time. I called later after I got home and after checking a few times, they did locate the item.
The concierge was in charge of mailing it to me. I spoke to her on the phone and asked her to send it the least expensive way (I was assuming ~$ 5 as it wasn’t very large), but in the end, my credit card was charged $ 30 — the package arrived with $ 20 of postage, and I am not sure what the concierge did with the rest — I didn’t get any accounting of it.

This Hotel is the biggest mistake we have made to be in Miami. I really regretted not checking the reviews before. They have very smalls room with no place to accommodate your suitcases, bathroom seat was dirty with a door that is hard to close, shower water switching from cold to hot when you are showering and 0 parking. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.
P. S. I’m sorry I forgot to include in my comments that our bed had bad bugs so my daughter and I got bug bites all over our bodies from them.
I’ll definitely not going back to this Hotel anymore.

Rude, beat up, scary bed bugs !!! yes bed bugs !!! Everyone who works there seems to be on the take. I couldn’t wait to check out (In fact we checked out at 5:00 am because we couldn’t take it any more !!) DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !!! Or My words WILL come back to haunt you !

Overall decent hotel. Has 7 floors and only 2 elevators, but only one elevator works all the time. Windows very thin and you can hear noise from the street. No stairs to lobby. Tv has no cable. Staff not always speak English and don’t know how to smile. Don’t expect to have hot water in the shower-​its not always the case. Overpriced compared to other hotels in the area.
Positive: close to beach and airport. Within walking distance to Ocean drive and Lincoln promenade.

When making reservations the photos give a deceptive idea of what the hotel actually is. On checking into the hotel earlier today 03/​04/​2016 we noticed the hotel is extremely in need of a update. The front desk staff doesn’t care about the comfort of there guests. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone. On ⁰³⁄₀₅ we decided to head to the pool, apparently whoever tends to the pool area needs to be fired. The pool furniture needs a serious wiping down, the pool it self has trash in it. Not to mention the pool deck is covered in bird poop.

If you saw me walking into the Red South Beach you would think, «What is she doing in a hotel like this?» Because it’s not where earth loving chubby chocolate hippies like myself are often found.
But sometimes a girl just wants to get her Miami Beach on a la Jersey Shore circa 2012, and when I do feel the need to throw on my Juicy Couture velour sweatsuit and matching Ed Hardy custom ripped and bedazzled wife beater, this is where i do it. (You think I’m kidding about owning this outfit.)
Location wise, Red South Beach is kiinda on the north end of the beach, but it’s on the beach.
Overall, for the price your paying, it’s a great Miami Beach party experience for the budget minded traveler.

I stayed at Red South Beach in August, for a week with my boyfriend and I LOVED IT! The second we got there we were greeted and checked in, in about 5 minutes. we were also upgraded to a King Size room because it was our first stay.
— we always had fresh towels, and the room was always cleaned
— the location is perfect. a block away from the beach
— a few blocks away from a lot of great restaurants
— and just a $ 4 über ride away from the craziness of Miami

My partner and I were staying there for 5 day in September 2015.
Pros: affordable price for a small room. Complementary drink every day. Very nice bartenders especially Victoria and Hanrietta. Breakfast is included. Free beach towels. Nice little swimming pool.
Cons: drinks and food are very expensive, bar closes too early. When bartenders changing shifts you may never get what you ordered. It happened to us on our last day. We decided to have lunch before we flew back home. We were waiting for our drinks forever and our food never arrived. However, they didn’t charged us for anything.
Overall, if you need a cute affordable place to crash Red South Beach hotel is for you. If you need luxury, this place would be quite a right fit.

ehhh! Let me start with the pictures on the website is really what brought my attention to this hotel. I should have done more research as I think the pictures were filtered. Lets start with the parking… if you don’t do valet then you’ll be paying more, however, you are able to have access to your car whenever. I chose to do valet. It states to call 30 min before you need the vehicle, so that’s what I did. However, I wouldn’t receive the car for at least 45 min… which is really just an annoyance. If you chose to do Valet parking its about 27 – 30 dollars a day. Now, lets talk about the facility. The hallways smell odd and look really creepy. Whats that about… Moving on, the elevators take forever and the rooms have an odd smell to them also. I don’t wanna say mold, but you never know. Additionally, the gym is not the best. I know that on vacation working out might not be the first thing you think about, but for those gym rats, you’ll be super disappointed. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Now, why does it get 2 stars. Some of the employees here are pretty nice and helpful. I figured that should count for something. The restaurant has amazing food and the service was fast. It’s not the worst place to stay, but you can certainly find better for the same price.

We are here in Miami Florida for our 16^th year anniversary. Before we left Phoenix AZ. we thought about staying here. So we stop by for dinner. Osbel gave us a tour of the property. What you see online matches it this place to a T. Red is my favorite color.

Complimentary drink everyday doesn’t make up for the rest of the place. Old building with the worst elevator I’ve ever been in. I don’t know how it passes code.
Reserved a pool side two bedroom room and when I got here they showed us to our one bedroom poolside unit. They didn’t take any credit for the mistake and kept insisting I booked through a third party which I hadn’t. They really didn’t care if we were happy and they shoved us in a room several stories up and offered no discount.
Next time I’ll spring for a better place.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
My experience here was the absolute worst. The completely over exaggerate the quality. I was promised amenities and free passes to events and never received them. Excuse after excuse is all this hotel is giving.
The room is so small the front desk clerk is rude and offers up no sympathy for the lack of customer service. When they cleaned up the room they took all the towels and in the end I was left with none. They claimed there were none what kind of hotel has no towels. I feel sorry for the employees they get get the backlash for horrible management!
The only thing I received was the free beach towel (that was just a regular towel) and a cheap chair that broken while I was sitting in it .
I absolutely hate this hotel and feel it is my duty to warn you! Don’t make the mistake I’ve already made for you!

This hotel is pretty far from ocean drive where all the fun is. When I booked a room front desk told me ‘everything is in a walking distance’, if you are willing to walk about 30 – 40 min to bars and clubs — you are fine but for us it didn’t work out.
The beach near the hotel is not really clean and the shore is full of seaweed that makes it to look dirty, and for cleaner beach we needed to walk.
Rooms were small but clean, staff was fine but in the hotel’s bar employees didn’t really care about us (maybe because they include tips in a bill 15% so they don’t need ‘to work’).
If I could just take my money back and leave I would but our reservation was non refundable so we had to stay at this hotel.

Red South Beach is a fitting name… the red décor in the lobby and sleeping rooms add an exquisite touch! This boutique hotel is located in the best place to move around freely in the area.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful suggestion places to eat and places to party too. The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff were very accommodating.
My best friend and I enjoyed taking pictures in the signature red chair in the lobby too! Oh and I can’t forget the daily Happy Hour specials!

I stayed there as I had to overnight in Miami one night, while waiting for my flights connections… And It was good… The service here is very friendly… And the value was good for the area. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are small but they are clean. I wouldn’t say is the best hotel in the area, but is not bad… I would stay there again for a short stop. The beach is very close and the pool is small but beautiful. The food and drinks at the restaurant were good as well…

I booked this hotel for a friend and myself mostly for its location and its affordability. I was a little skeptical at getting such a good rate on a pool view room with two double beds, but once we arrived at the hotel, it quickly became apparent why. First, let me begin by saying that I did actually like this hotel very much. However, December must be construction time in Miami because there was a TON of construction happening to the side, to the front and down the road from this hotel. Our lovely pool view room was in direct line of the cacophony that started exactly at 7:30 and went on all day. In addition, the reputation of Miami drivers being the worst in the world was well earned as I listened to cars screeching to a halt, excessive beeping and even a crash, at all hours of the night. We went to Miami just to enjoy the beach, so I didn’t mind the early start to my day, but I can imagine how the construction might bother people looking to sleep in. I would imagine the rooms facing away from the street have less of a problem.
The Location
It’s literally a 5 min walk to the beach. It would be shorter if the beach access point directly across from the hotel wasn’t closed for construction. There is also a liquor store, small supermarket, a subway and an excellent Cuban café within a 5 min walk as well. The beach around this area is a little rocky and narrow, but if you walk 2 – 3 min down the boardwalk, there’s a much wider beach. To get the main south beach area is a 10 min, 5 dollar über ride. You just go straight down Collins Avenue.
The Pool
Small but nice. When we went, no one wanted to venture in, but I imagine its quite popular in the summer. There are several comfy sun chairs placed all around with a towel already placed there so you’re ready to go. I sat by the pool and had breakfast one day and it was very enjoyable.
The Rooms
Not overly spacious, but completely met our needs. There’s no dresser, but the closet is very large with lots of shelving. There was also a fridge in there which was great for our leftovers and alcohol. The beds were soooo comfortable and that was the most important part for me. The bathroom had a hair dryer. The entire hotel had a very chic and modern décor that was nice. The Red wasn’t too overwhelming. The only problems were that the wifi just refused to work in the rooms (We could only get signal in the lobby) and the room was very dimly lit. Lots of outlets for your charging needs.
I would definitely stay here again as long as I got a room away from all the noise!
