This review is a tab bit late, but better late than never… Lol. Memorial Day weekend, 2012 we held our family reunion here and ITWASAWESOME… My family loved every bit of Double D, from the activities to the food; and the food was just great, which was catered by Eddie Dean’s BBQ. We wanted the family to experience Texas BBQ, since they were coming from all over; Eddie Dean’s didn’t disappoint; the brisket, turkey and chicken was flavorful throughout the meat. The potato salad and baked beans were also good. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the macaroni and cheese — there wasn’t enough cheese in it and was stuck together like it had been sitting out for a while. Double D Ranch has a lot of activities for kids and adults: mini golf, basketball, petting zoo, volleyball, hayrides, paddle boats, and I’m sure I’m leaving some others out, but these were most of the activities that my family enjoyed. We think it was worth it for the money we spent, especially compared to some of the other ranches. You do get a lot for your money. Thanks:-)

I went to a wedding here. First, they didn’t clean up broken solo cups and old beer cans in the parking area. Considering I was attending a dry wedding, I know that refuse was not from our group that was just arriving. Minus a star. The bathrooms were clean. The place was clean. The playgrounds for the kids were really nice outside. The iced tea and lemonade they served was really watered down. Minus another star. Overall, its a decent place. I liked all the windows facing the playground and the lake.

We have tons of events at this place for work and it seems to fill the need. We get great service, perhaps because we use the place all the time. It is a ranch, so wet weather can spoil your fun. My favorite part of the day was petting the pigs. I would rather have done that then hang out with work folks! :p They have a putt putt, petting zoo and other stuff to do outside. Check out their website.

We have used the Double D Ranch for two years now to hold a work related retreat. It is a great place for this kind of event. The staff are great, and have a variety of activities for you to do, which can be done in bad weather(inside) or outside if weather permits. You just need to let them know what you need and poof like magic, there it is. They are convienent to Mesquite, Tx, but a far(and sorta out of the way drive) if you are coming from other parts of Dallas, I would say, that is the only pitfall of this facility.

This place is huge! I dont know about any other activities center but I came here for a wedding and the people are rude and not classy!!! The wedding was outside near the gazebo and to get down the hill you have to get down on a golf cart or walk. I was wearing heels so thats an obvious no for walking. The golf guy came to get me and told me to hurry up because he had to get back to get the bride… well obviously there’s no rush cuz the wedding hasnt started! During the reception the same guy that drove the golf cart and some other old lady kept going around the table and picking up all the cups and plates from everyone. My friend wasnt done drinking his wine yet but she picked it up anyway. I got the impression that they didn’t want to wait for us to be done and stay there late to clean. I think their gesture was so rude and that they were in a hurry to kick us out of there. I dont know who owns this place but you guys need to have better service!!!
