Ramada Mesa Phoenix East Area

If I could give negative stars I would. This hotel is the WORST!!! The rooms are dirty and the smell of mold is throughout the entire room. When I went to complain the jack ass at the front desk (John) informed me he was the assistant manager which in fact he isn’t. He told me I needed to call Orbitz who I booked with.

Desk staff was friendly. The room was pretty clean overall but the shower hadn’t been cleaned. Beds were relatively comfortable. There were three ice machines on site and none of them worked. Continental breakfast was disappointing — extremely limited selection and the only fruit present was plastic. It seems like it used to be a really nice small resort, but it is very rundown.

Not Impressed… I thought a Ramada has to be nice, the pics on the website are great and they look like it was recently remodeled. I booked a room for one night, got to the hotel and checked in. Got to the room and walked in saw 2 black bugs run by a bed, then to walk into the bathroom and see another 8 bugs!
Went to the front desk and they gave me another room, upstairs. Got to the room and saw a little dead sewer roach in the tub, but decided I would just take the room since I would just be sleeping there.
Turned on the heater and it sounded like it was running, so I figured great it will warm up in the next 15−30mins. I feel asleep and woke up at 3:00am freezing! I turned off the «heater» but figured it was 3:00am I didn’t want to hassle with this and went back to sleep.
I checked out the next morning and told the front desk lady about my experience. She says «you should have called our desk, we could have got someone to you, there is a switch in the vent that has to be turned into heat, we reply on you to call the office and notify us to change it».
I think that:
a. They should have a courtesy sign in the room
about that.
b. Could have told me about that at check in, to watch out for it.
c. Change it to heat when you know you will be in colder weather.
Needless to say, wasn’t a great experience at all, won’t return!

The worst experience ever, Don’t stay here! Unsafe place to satay.
The Night manager gave key code to some drunk thugs at 2 AM. They try to ambushed the room. Scare the hell out of my girlfriend. After fending them off, they just hang outside the room, swearing and cursing till 4 O’clock in the morning.
Called the front desk to complaints, she wouldn’t do anything about it. I mentioned it to the day time manager and he just brushes it off as if it normal.
Horrible experience

Room was large and the flat screen TV was great. The rooms felt slightly outdated, as did the heater /​ac which didn’t work very well. No bugs, great staff, decent area. Breakfast was mediocre at best. i would definitely stay here again because of the cheap cost and room size.

Where do I start? This place is an absolute joke. I would give 0 stars if I could. From the moment I checked in, «John» the Mexican guy upfront who is obviously on speed was extremely rude. I was the only one checking yet he sped through the checkin as if he had a line out the door. As for the room, very outdated. Beds are very uncomfortable, lumpy and sink in when you try to sleep. Also the rooms are very hot and stuffy. A hotel in Arizona should have adequate air conditioning. However according to «John» these old rooms can’t accommodate air conditioning and all the rooms are like that, therefore he could not change my room. He suggested that I sleep with the window open. Would not give me a refund so I could stay somewhere else. Also, the housekeeping here sucks. I unfortunately had to endure this aweful place two nights in a row because the crackhead prick up front called «John» would not give me a refund. The «free» breakfast here was also a joke. Soggy eggs, cold ham and sausage… Yum… Stale cereal and extremely watered down sunny d. The funniest part was the bowl of fake fruit — wtf? Fake fruit at a continental breakfast? So lame. When I returned to my room later in the day, the bed was made, but that was about it. I had to go to the front and ask «John» for toilet paper, coffee, soap, shampoo, and an extra towel. Nothing else was picked up by housekeeping. Do not spend your money at this nasty ass place. Go to Mesa mezona instead. For the same price, you get a very different experience.

This hotel is disgusting. First when we got in the room there was a foul odor and we turned on the air conditioner thinking it might be from the humidity. We than layer down to go to sleep and when I woke up in the middle of the night I saw a bed bug crawling on the pillow beside me. As I killed that one I was afraid to lay back down but thought well maybe I’m over exaggerating so let me try and lay back down. Upon me getting ready to lay back down, I saw another bed bug running across the mattress and I immediately got up and left the hotel. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. The hotel staff was understanding of the issue and issued me my refund.

Check-​in process was simple like any other hotel. During the Arizona summer, you definitely need an AC that will make the room cold as the Antarctic but their AC units don’t seem to function that way. The lobby wasn’t even cold and really didn’t leave a good first impression. We had to change our room in order to get a working AC. At the second room, the TV volume wasn’t high enough and the AC barely cooled the room. There are bugs and cockroaches on the hallways that are trying to crawl in to your room. Water went out during our 3^rd night of stay for over 6 hours, again not leaving a good impression. The rooms look very old and outdated. There’s no outlets next to the bed. This hotel is definitely NOT up to Wyndham status and does not deserve that franchise tag. I do not recommend anyone to stay here and spend 20 – 30 more to stay somewhere else.

Never ever would I recommend anyone to stay at this filthy, bug ridden, terrible place.
I am not a hotel snob by any stretch but this place is crap, even for $ 50 a night.
Roaches, crickets and some small black bugs that I did not know what they were.
Had to switch rooms because the a/​c went out.
Then the water went out. no water for 6 hours. Then the a/​c went out in our new room.
Then the hot water went out and I could not get anyone over to look at it.
The maintenance man was rude to my wife and that was the last straw, we left and I got a refund for the remaining time.
They should not call this a Ramada because it’s false advertising.
The place needs to be torn down and new buildings put up.
I will be calling corporate and letting them know!

Got a room for $ 42– fees included. checked in late. Nice staff, including the blond lady someone else was whining about. No cockroaches, no bedbugs, no mosquitos. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, air worked fine. I feel kinda let down after reading all the negative juju.

After a long exhausting 11 hour drive I decided to get some rest at this hotel since I’ve had positive experiences with this chain before. Additionally it was rated with 3 out of 4 stars. I didn’t expect much considering it was $ 54 a night, however I didn’t expect to experience such disgusting rooms.
It first started with when I got to my room. If it had a slight but apparent foul smell. I ignored it and went to take a shower. I noticed a various type of several hairs on the shower walls, ie pubic hairs ect. I was too exhausted to make that an issue so I just rinsed the shower out and stepped in with shower shoes. And I was hoping that would have been the extent of it but was I wrong.
I was abruptly awaken in the middle of my much needed slumber by a feeling that something was crawling on my face. When I noticed it was a cockroach. I then jumped up and turned on the light this was when I witnessed at lease 10 cockroaches scattering on the walls. This was when I concluded that that was the foul odor I was greeted with when I arrived.
Nevertheless, I was on a search to destroy any others with hope that will ease my worries of another one trying to find food or a home in my nose. So I was able to smash 6; one on the floor by the TV, 1 on the Floor by the door, 1 on the wall by the thermostat, 2 in the bathroom area, 1 on the night stand, and 1 by the computer chair. I then quickly gathered my backpack off the floor and put it on the desk. There were only clothes and toiletries in the backpack, no food.
So I somehow figured that if I put my hoodie, long pants and leave all the lights on I’ll be protected. And I suppose it worked since I was able to get a few more hours of rest.
When I went to check out I asked to speak to the manager on duty. Apparently there wasn’t one and I was giving an email.
I will never stay at at Ramada again. I’d expect this type of environment at a Days Inn but even at that franchise I’ve never had cockroaches.

The Ramada is not the best hotel, but it sure works well with a budget. The room smelled a little funny and the furniture looked well worn, but I can’t knock the price.

This Ramada, formerly Dobson Ranch Inn, provided a nice, clean stay while I was in Mesa looking for apartments. The room was clean, the grounds are clean, the staff was friendly, and they had a good, free breakfast.
The only negative is that the walls between rooms are quite thin; I was awoken by my neighbor at 5AM on the phone.
Would stay agaia!

the worst hotel and customer ever. john the owners son was downright rude. when we first arrived, told our room wasn’t ready go to the hotel bar and enjoy the specials. we go and no such specials, when explained the hotel sent us, couldn’t have cared less. after waiting for our time to come back, we are then told by john they don’t have our room with 2 queen beds as we requested and paid 2 months in advance, could only give us 1 king. all with attitutde, never once looking us c in the eye, face down the while time, then mumbled under his breath as he walked away. absolutely the worst service ever. others we saw there also had complaints. we had to find a new hotel, and deal with expedia for refund. if i could give a million negative stars i would. i have to give 1 just to leave review. everyone i know will be told about this place!

Hotel staff was rude and down right nasty to me and my family. This is «new management» as they say bu its actually 10 X’s WORSE. I will never stay here ever again.

Very old – toliet ran all night and that’s after they got it to work! Terrible lighting. Doorknobs not on right. Bed was horrible and the pillows even worse! Outrageous price for a truly crappy hotel. Never again!!!
