Wall Street Custom Tailoring

I was looking for a tailor to put a new zipper in my jeans. Wall Street was fast, professional, provided me with the zipper and came in under the estimated cost. I was pleased with their service and work and will be using them in the future for my tailoring needs. Thanks!

Having a convenient, expert tailor is like having a fabulous hairstylist; you will follow them anywhere. Having this person in your neighborhood is even better. Before I found Victor I used to travel to my old Seattle neighborhood and get my clothes altered by an older Italian woman, until I lost touch with her. I first went to Victor at my husband’s suggestion, having taken my son’s pants to someone else on MI and realizing that they came back with two different leg lengths (neither of which matched my son). So when I needed my favorite formal dress taken in, I went to Victor. He did an amazing job. He’s Russian, very professional, and really knows his craft. One time I brought him something and he looked at me and said «this does not need to be altered at all» (and he was right — I’m not sure what I was thinking). Another time he did a quick same day alteration for me so that I could wear an old dress to a costume party. He takes time and attention with each customer, so you may need to wait a bit, but it’s worth it. Especially for the on-​island convenience and reasonable price.

Wall Street has recently moved a block south and changed name to Wall Street Custom Tailoring. Focus is now on tailoring, as you might guess. But the tailor (Viktor) is the same. He does a careful, professional job. I can highly recommend him.

Aces! I rented my tuxes from Wall Street Custom Clothiers and had no worries that we’d all look awesome and be taken care of in case of any time crunch. Appreciate the pick-​up service the day after.

I don’t complain often or write many reviews of places I’ve visited, but I have to share my experience at Wall Street Custom Clothiers. I unfortunately didn’t have the pleasure of dealing with Dale which, based on the other review, would have enhanced my opinion. My brother chose Wall Street as the place for suit rentals for his wedding. The first visit was just fine, being only for measurements for the suit. Victor helped me on that day. Today, I called ahead to tell them I was on my way to pick up the suit and spoke with Dale, who was very nice on the phone, but said he wasn’t going to be there. He did say that Victor would help me when I arrived. I called at 10 AM, told them I would be there in a half hour. I showed up at 10:25.
Walking in, my father I and were greeted relatively quickly and I explained why we were there. A woman (didn’t get her name) looked for my suit but couldn’t find it, and went back to find Victor. He comes out, says «I’m busy,» and continues helping another customer. So, we sat down and waited for about 10 – 15 minutes. Now, trying on a suit only takes 5 minutes, 10 tops. Finally, another man (again, didn’t get his name) comes out and asks if we’ve been helped. «Not really,» I replied. I told him we could come back when it was more convenient. I guess he sensed my displeasure and was nice enough to free up a fitting room for me to try on the suit. 10 minutes later, I was done.
So, a 10 minute process ended up taking well over a half hour, for no really good reason, other than Victor was «busy.» I think my review would have been better had I just been told what to expect for a wait. Simple customer service, in my opinion. Also, why did I even call in the first place to tell them I was coming? It obviously didn’t help. Thankfully, I don’t live I the area and won’t have to deal with Wall Street any more, but if I have to, I’ll insist on only dealing with Dale.

My fiancé rented tuxedos for himself and his three groomsmen from Dale at Wall Street Clothiers. We were looking for some place a little classier and nicer than the chain tuxedo rental shops (i.e. not for prom) and Wall Street Clothiers surpassed our expectations.
Dale (Manager) did an amazing job coordinating measurements and fittings with the groomsmen from around the country. The tuxedos looked fantastic and fit very well. My fiancé wanted to have his jacket tapered slightly at the waist and Dale’s tailor was able to do this on the spot. Dale also was willing to drive to the various hotels downtown where the groomsmen were staying for pick-​ups the next morning which was very convenient.
Finally, we were so impressed with our initial interactions with Dale and WS Clothiers that we decided to buy custom shirts as groomsmen gifts. Dale was fantastic at helping me discretely find out the extra measurements needed for shirts to surprise the groomsmen at the rehearsal dinner. He also put together a great sheet with the needed selections (cuff, color etc.).
All around, a first rate experience. Highly recommended.
