Mercer Electric

These guys are awesome, they saved our Thanksgiving. When Home depot could not install our new oven Steve made time in his schedule and got it done spending parts of two days at our house right before thanksgiving! They are clean professional and trustworthy Never call anyone else!!!

The 3* rating is an average rating of two service events (5+1)÷2. The first, several months ago involved replacement of an old thermostat, a replacement with a new one that did not function and a very impressive response by Nick himself to make things right. The second request a few weeks ago involved a like replacement in another part of the open family room/​dinette area. Again, the serviceman was prompt, courteous and seemingly efficient. He checked whether the new thermostat was operational (but apparently did not look at the temperature where the unit kicked in), and I wrote a check on the spot. This seemed like another 5*. In the first day I discovered that the calibration was totally inaccurate as one had to turn the dial to the end of the register in order to activate it. I called the serviceman and asked him to discuss the apparent manufacturing unreliability with the supplier. That was that last conversation with anyone from the company.
What followed was a recorded message from Nick that a thermostat using a different technology would be installed at an additional cost almost equal to the original bill. I left a message asking for an explanation of the options. After two weeks of leaving numerous messages (broadcasts to outer space), I was left stranded with an apparently defective device.
So I started on some detective work and got to the manufacturers’s tech who explained that on installation, calibration sometimes gets thrown off. He described the remedy how to locate and adjust an appropriate dial.
Summary: big flash followed by poor performance, poor communication, poor customer relations and an unforgiveable disregard of their legal obligation to provide a working thermostat. Apparently, they did not bother or did not know about recalibration (which makes me wonder, on reflection, whether the first service call involved faulty equipment or faulty work)

Nick was prompt, efficient, pleasant and took care of a small job I needed done for years in just minutes. He will be called again for something bigger!

Nick at Mercer Electric is awesome. Looked at the whole project, listened to what I wanrted and what my budget constraints were. Came back with a detailed estimate outlining my different options.
When it came time to do the actual work they were professional, friendly and did a bang up job that was above and beyond my expectations. To top it all off they cleaned up their entire mess so the only way you could tell they were there was by the perfectly working equipment. I’ll be using them again when I am ready to upgrade.

Professional service, showed up on time, completed the work correctly and had all of the needed parts on the truck. Mercer Electric also does the little things right: park without blocking the driveway, clean shoes before entering the house, and cleaning up after the work. I used to own a service business, and wish that all of my employees worked like Mercer Electric. 5 stars !
