Port of Subs

Had my best sandwich there today. It was a breakfast (served all day!) sandwich on sourdough with egg, Swiss and pepper jack cheeses. Delish!

Today I was really hungry and so I stopped by to get a sandwich for dinner. Right when I walked in the door I was greeted by a «hello we will be right with you with a smile» I smiled back and was debating on which sandwich I was going to get. I eventually settled for a large ham and swiss sandwich. When the server came to me that wonderful smile was there mind you it was 1 hour before closing but that smile was there. She asked what kind of bread I wanted and I said white. She then told me they only had wheat because they have been super busy. I settled for the wheat but I was impressed on how she handled my sandwich most sandwich shops would shove everything on a roll and have you be on your way not my sandwich it was handled with care. I decided to eat in and was very impressed at how this server served customers 1 hour before closing. I will be back and thank the lady for a great experience.

I love coming to this sub shop but the owner will have a long conversation with someone and make you wait.

Definitely the best sub shop in town! Turkey with smoked cheddar, amazing! Everything is fresh and blows subway out of the water! It kills me to sit there at subway at to see them put those ridiculous little triangles of cheese and the meat that has zero flavor :[ port of subs rocks!

Excellent sandwiches. Love the fresh sliced meats and cheeses instead of having it sit there for hours. Friendly staff and management.

Delicious and waaaaay fresher than other sandwich shops! Customer service is wonderful and it is kept very neat and sanitary. I love that they have smokey cheddar, only can find it here and Raley’s. Prices are average, but with the points card I got a free sandwich for my birthday, and a cookie just for signing up! I’ll definitely be back.

I love their sandwiches they are divine. I Always get the vegetarian one with the three cheeses, the smokey cheddar is amazing, plus it comes with avocado yumm. Of course everything’s optional you can have anything done to your taste. I know they have a very broad menu of subs, salads, wraps, and breakfast items but I stick to my veggie sub. And for you pickle lovers they have the best pickles here !

Had a random craving for a sandwich today, so I stopped by Port of Subs. This place is not much more expensive than Subway and you get a much better quality sub. Their meat and cheeses are sliced in front of you as you order so you know it’s fresh… not like Subway’s mystery meat.
They also have a «budget» menu where the sandwiches are a little cheaper than their normal ones. I don’t know why they’re on the budget menu, but the girl working behind the counter mentioned that it might be because they’re least popular… who knows. I didn’t care, so I got the budget large pastrami with cheddar on wheat ($ 6.19 w/​o tax) It was great. Fresh and delicious. I texted some number on their wall and I got a free soda, so if you spot it, text it! Also, they apparently give student discounts, so just mention you’re a student and/​or flash your card. Note that they are unable to do multiple free things/​discounts at a time, so no soda & no 10% student discount for you! I opted for the soda this time. (;
Another thing that made this experience pleasant was the girl making my sandwich! She was very personable and pleasant to talk to, even if it was only for a brief moment. I wish people were like this at more places!

My fiancé and I ate here last night after our gym workout and it was delish! I had the salami and provolone on sourdough and my fiancé had pastrami and Swiss. Love the bread! Much better than subway! This was the only place to get a sandwich at 8.30 at night and will be returning! The owner who helped us was gracious and polite despite our late arrival before closing.

I’ve been going to this Port of Sub’s off of Yosemite for nearly over two years now, and have never been dissatisfied by their sandwiches. The bread that they use is fresh and delicious (and I honestly think tons better than Subway). The meats they use are sliced fresh, and all their vegetables are filled with flavor. The people working behind the counter are really great people once you get to know them, and they are all friendly and willing to help you out with any issues that might arise. I’ve only ran into little issues here and there from when they were training new people, but what’s to be expected for someone who just got hired, perfection?
Best sandwiches in town. I highly recommend anyone becoming a regular here, or even just a one time stop. :)

Great place for quick bite to eat. Staff is super friendly. Restrooms are clean. Nice place to sit outside and enjoy the sun and a sandwich.

My go-​to quick sandwich place when I visit my parents in Merced. I loved it for several years, but the past few times I’ve gone it just hasn’t satisfied in the same way. I think there’s been less meat on my sandwich. Alas, I do love a good deli meat sandwich.

My family and I were out late and needed a quick dinner. We stopped and got soup and sandwiches on our way home. The employees Matt and Chantelle were super friendly and helpful. We have visited this store many times and have always had a great experience with the staff and the food.
