I stopped in at The Edge when another place I was supposed to go fell through and my friend and I needed a place to sit and chat. The coffee wasn’t bad. Much better than Otherlands or Republic. My mocha was about 5 $, which struck me as pretty standard. The vibe at the Edge is what Otherlands would be if it wasn’t so pretentious. I personally am no fan of coffee and even less of coffee houses, but this is a small business with heart. I’m giving it three stars because I wasn’t wowed. But I was comfortable, and the owners seemed genuine, and I’d choose that over the more well traversed coffee houses in the neighborhood.

How?! How is this place so highly rated?! Dirty and expensive. 3.25 for a drip coffee? Cream out of a ketchup squirter and not kept cool? Gross. I’m drinking this coffee, dammit, but not because I think it was made in sanitary conditions. I’m drinking it solely because I paid through the nose for it. **Addendum: I asked for vanilla syrup! I got sugar free! Ugh. I might as well have thrown that money away. Never again.

Visited there many times but unfortunately the indoor smoking and rougher neighborhood will likely keep me away from there from here on out. If a smoking/coffee mix is are your thing then hit this place up, friendly staff!

i was impressed with the energy here. they got influential people that make customer service look awkward. in my experience the atmosphere is chill and frank’s character whom owns this wonderful place is a reflection of who he is and the people that join him because of it. i made great connection here and i usually meet up with friends here or bring a date. it’s just one of those places that makes socializing up to the individual. for me, count me in cause i could benefit from community frank is building. this place is family. p. s. they have in text drive-thru! you text it and have it ready when you get there!

We stopped in at The Edge to grab some coffee and bagels for a quick breakfast. It was pretty empty which was nice because we were able to sit and chat with the employees. I kinda wish we had done this on day 1 if our visit so we could have heard about all these less touristy spots at the start of our trip and not on the last day. There’s always next time… The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and if we lived here, we’d be back all the time!

I was glad to see Frank’s place doing well during my visit last Friday evening. The Edge has a laid-back vibe(despite the caffeination!) and lays out the welcome mat for pretty much everyone – all ages, personalities, and eccentricities(in a good way). It’s also a haven for local musicians playing original material – and, at least on Friday, there was a nice crowd actually listening to the performers. And, as mentioned in the previous review, The Edge is(still) home of the tasty Avalanche… even outside temps in the lower 30s didn’t dissuade me from downing one.
