Dr. Norman Tobin is the best dentist I have been to in my 67 years. I have lived in 5 cities and seen many dentists, but Dr. Tobin’s «bedside manor» is the best. He is not the cheapest around, but the best rarely is, however you can count on his honesty. He also stays in his comfort zone. I have had bad experiences in the past with dentists who tried to do it all. Dr. Tobin will not hesitate to send you to a specialist if he believes it is warranted.

After going to a dentist in Memphis who said I had 10 cavities, required an oral cancer screening that cost $ 75(I have no risk factors), and a deep cleaning not covered by insurance(total costing $ 600), I went to Dr. Towbin who did an honest assessment. Dr. Towbin and his staff was so accomodating. He gave me an honest opinion and said I did not have any cavities and just needed a good cleaning(hadn’t gone to dentist in 2 yrs). I am so thankful I found Dr. Towbin and now that I have dental insurance, will definitely be going regularly. SO glad I didn’t fall into the money trap at the previous dentist!

I concur with David. Dr. Towbin has been my dentist for about 20 years now. He’s amazing and has a great sense of humor. JJ, the receptionist has a slight attitude but it’s part of her charm. When you make your appointment ask for Laura to clean your teeth. She’s the best! I’ve had everybody in there clean my teeth and she’s never hurt me once! I think I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t dread going to the dentist!

Another dental fugitive brought to justice. I spent so much time at the dentist’s and orthodontist’s offices as a kid that the receptionists and staff started giving me the group shout a’la «Norm!» from Cheers. Once I hit adulthood, I guess I thought I’d met my lifetime quota for visits, so I didn’t go for a long time. After way too long, I finally got the tip from a co-worker about Dr. Tobin’s office. He and his staff were very kind to me, even though the hygeinist had to spend at least 30 minutes giving my teeth the dental equivalent of a sand-blast. Dr. T merely told me that he was pleased that another«dental fugitive» had turned himself in. For years, I returned every 6 months for the next round of pain-free and fuss-free cleanings. Unfortunately, after I switched jobs, Dr. Towbin was no longer covered by my insurance plan, so I went AWOL again. After returning to the old job, I finally(today), tail tucked between my legs, shuffled shyly back into Dr. Towbin’s office and was promptly greeted as warmly as before with a friendly joke(and then the sand-blast). Glad to be back!
