If you care anything about what you are shipping do not use this service. Greyhound has no way of tracking packages. When packages are shipped across country, they are loaded and unloaded at so many terminals that anyone can walk off with them. Two large containers were shipped by me in December from Memphis, Tennessee, to Portland, Oregon. Neither container arrived. While trying to trace these lost containers, I found their customer service to be practically non-existent and mostly rude. Four months after I filed a claim, it was considered«settled» by Greyhound. It is now two months after their settlement determination and I have not seen the settlement check. Their idea of payment is to email a screen shot of their bookkeeping software as proof payment was sent! Furthermore, they will not automatically refund the shipping costs. It is their policy that you have to ask for a refund of the shipping costs of a package they lost. The claim process has been agonizing. I have had to push and prod every step of the way and it looks like I’m still not going to get the meager settlement Greyhound has agreed to pay. There does not appear to be any recourse for me, except to tell my story as a warning to other unwitting shippers. I shipped through Greyhound Package Express because the shipping was so much less expensive than other carriers. I’ve learned a difficult lesson and if I had it to do over again, I would have never set foot in their terminal.
