This place is awesome. First timer but a local and extremely pleased with the food and service. All locals must come and out of towners quality/casual and easy on the wallet. Enjoy!

This has changed hands. I had lunch there yesterday and was extremely disappointed. I had a veggie sandwich with a cup of black bean soup and tea. They charged me $ 17. When I tried to question it I was treated rudely. The soup was good but room temp and the only choice of bread was white or honey wheat. With all the good restaurants in memphis, I’m sorry I stopped. Won’t make that mistake again.

The food is simply delicious. It does vary, but I imagine there is something for everyone. I took my whole family here a while ago, the staff was so friendly my twin brother and I have made it our new place. The LOX bagel, like«Oh, God!» Good.

I have never had a bad experience with Bogies. Salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps, deserts, tried it all. The potato salad is the best I have ever tried. Spicy chicken pita, chef salad, strawberry cake, all amazing!(Just to name a few) Service has always been stellar and I’m one of those add this and none of that people. They have always had my order correct and are quick to turn it out. Aside from of this they were eager to help me with an event i was hosting, I had to put the event together quickly and everything they provided was wonderful and right on time. Bogies will always be on my list of recommendations and it will continue to be one of my top choices in Memphis.

Love the roast turkey sandwich. My favorite place to get a sub-type sandwich in Memphis. The vinaigrette they put on it is what makes it. They use Boar’s Head brand meat, which I love. I dig the patio. Wish they were open on Sundays.

Ordered the turkey sandwich and chicken and rice soup. Both were yummy. Husband got the shrimp salad on a roll. He said the shrimp salad was fresh and light on top of buttery crusty bread — yum!!! The porch outside is large and a great place to sit if you have children. Would definitely go back again.

So, despite having lived about five minutes away for over two years now, today was my first experience at Bogie’s. The guy who took our order was very friendly, though he randomly walked away several times(into the back, to the other end of the counter, etc) without saying something like«Back in sec» to explain where he was going. The food came out in a timely manner, and we were promised napkins(promptly delivered, but only two for the two of us… what if we’re messy?), and asked if we needed anything else, but a request for a side of mayo produced *one* packet, which was, uh, not enough for the boyfriend, who had to ask the guy for more. Again, promptly delivered, but dude. The food itself was good, but nothing to write home about. I had the croissant club, which was clearly made with quality ingredients, but lacked that special something to pull it all together. That might have been the honey mustard, which was put on with a very light hand… I should’ve asked for extra, but of course that didn’t occur to me til I was almost finished eating. The potato salad was excellent, though it needed some salt, but the boyfriend’s gumbo was disappointingly bland and full of rice. His hoagie supreme was fine, but rather greasy overall, and didn’t have the more generous portions of meat that my sandwich did. The patio is nice, though I’m not sure the ceiling fans were really helping keep it cool. The tables and chairs are a mix of plastic and wrought iron, some with condiments and some without(we stole a number of items from other empty tables), but I was glad to see someone wiping down the tables. Overall, it was ok. It wasn’t bad by any stretch, but I don’t think I’ll be back either.

I am a sandwich connoisseur. I tend to find sandwich shops and deli’s without even looking. For a long time, I was under the impression that this Bogie’s location was closed… and I can’t tell you just how bummed out that made me. Having FINALLY made the move closer to the city, having lost the sandwich shop I had heard so many great things about was a terrible blow to my Midtown happiness! But, my happiness was saved by the realization that the general population was mistaken! Now that I know that this place is indeed still open, I can’t stop coming here! I think my bank account may be a little bit upset that I’ve been passing all my hard earned money to Bogie’s instead of saving it for emergencies! This is yet another of my favorite deli’s that uses Boar’s Head meats. The selection of meats and sandwiches and the like are far more extensive here than anywhere else that I’ve been, though. Plus, the staff are always happy to help you choose if you’re stuck between a few menu items. My favorite is their spicy chicken pita… its chicken is marinated in some kind of deliciousness overnight before it’s paired with pepperjack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and fabulous ranch dressing. Absolutely divine. I could eat one at every meal. No lie. I love that this deli is within walking distance of the theatre and Maggie’s Pharm. It makes having a day out in midtown so easy, because my favorite joint for sustenance is right in the middle of the action!

The food is pretty good. However, they have very limited and strange business hours. They are closed on Sundays(in the year 2012? Really?). They close at 3 pm on Saturdays. They close at 6:00 during the week.

I always take a gamble when I put an addess in my GPS, I drive a 16ft box truck across the country and parking isnt the easiest. I pulled up to the destination and there was parking as far as the eye could see. I walked in and was overwhelmed by a chalkboard, I felt like I was watching an IMAX movie. The cashier handed me a menu and I landed on the Lox and bagel and some coffee. The coffee ended up being free and the lox was amazing. The bagel wasnt too tasty and they only had plain available… I like people to see poppyseeds in my teeth please. The décor caught my attention. baby animals and such. I WAS A FAN. Not sure if I would return but I did have a good experience.

I’ve eyed this place for a long time and wanted to try it. For whatever reason, I never made it. Well I went today for lunch. I was hoping for, expecting, a really good experience. Sorry, nope. It starts with walking in the door. There’s a lot of stuff written on the blackboard behind the counter. So I’m standing almost in the doorway reading all this. I didn’t really see anything truly lunch like. Then I discovered that there were menus at the cash register. So I picked one up and ordered from that. I had the chicken and rice soup. It was very underwhelming. It looked like someone boiled an old chicken carcass, threw in some onions and herbs and a bit of rice and called it done. It was seriously deficient in rice, and lukewarm. The Chicken ‘n Rice soup at the frikkin cafeteria at work was better. The roast beef sandwich also was a disappointment. The slot in the bun was not cut deep enough so: a) it couldn’t be stuffed with much ingredients b) every time you bit into it the innards squirted out over the top. But the bread itself was very tasty. And it was pretty pricey for a sandwich, soup, and an iced tee. I’m not used to paying that much for lunch. The ambiance was nice, I ate out on the porch, the weather was good. It looks like a very trendy place, grown up in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, very underwhelming.

I have an addiction… Bogie’s pasta salad. Well, Bogie’s in general. When I worked in Overton Square there was a running joke about where I’d go for lunch… because it was Bogie’s 90% of the time. I can’t help it. It is just that good. The sandwiches are fresh and yummy — be sure to get the oil(I prefer on the side). You won’t be disappointed! The cookies are wonderfully gooey, the red velvet cake is the best thing of my life, and the pasta salad… I can’t even describe it. It is just comfort food. There are many locations, but this location is my favorite — love the free wifi! It is in an old house by Studio on the Square and more charming than the other locations. The patio and customer service are out of this world. I just wish they were open longer hours.

Once again I had a City Savers Memphis coupon and decided to give it a try. We walk in and were greeted immediately. Looked at the huge chalkboard menu and had a seat. I ordered the chicken spud with jalapenos, cheddar and sour ceam and my bf ordered the WHOLE muffaletta. Food came out in a timely fashion and thats when my eyes almost popped out of my socket! That muffaletta was so big they had to put it on two seperate plates! WOWZERS!!! So of course I had to taste it. The olive spread is light but kicking and if you like those kinda sammiches then you should definitely try theirs. My spud was good once i added more cheese and boom instant fan! No more McAlisters for me. Well unless I’m not in Midtown bc McAlisters spuds are waaaaaaay bigger. i will defintitely be back for their breakfast one day bc i have to try this bagel sammich. Plus I have another coupon ;)

Amazing deli food and great customer service! Came here after an awful experience at another restaurant and received the most amazing customer service you usually don’t expect from a deli. It was my first time eating here but I will definitely come back again.

Went back to Bogie’s a couple weeks ago to partake in some outdoor patio lunching. I’ll have to admit this patio rivals some of my favorites in Midtown. It’s quiet, secluded and it feels like you’re on your neighbors porch rather than a restaurant. My husband and I took the little guy with us, and he enjoyed it as well. I couldn’t stray from my favorite turkey Reuben yet again, but I did get the broccoli salad, which is one of my new favorites. I would come here just for that. A big heaping bucket full please! Delicious. My husband was a big fan as well. This will be a big favorite of ours over the summer.

Best lunch spot in Memphis, hands down. A large selection of sandwiches which were absolutely delicious, each served with a great pasta salad. Such a wonderful dessert selection. Everything was just perfect. We stumbled on this place from Main Street — a little sign advertising Boars Head Deli Meat pointing into a large empty lobby. We followed the signs around to the rear entrance of the deli, a little confused. Once we made our way inside, we found a quaint little shop with the nicest staff in all of Memphis! We ordered at the counter, but the staff brought our food to our table, and cleaned the table up when we were done. I didn’t check out the patio, but the inside was super clean — to relieve some fears from a previous review.

I’m kind of like Joey from friends– I love sandwiches! Bogie’s make fantastic sandwiches. Therefore, I love Bogie’s. The midtown deli is located in a cute little house smack in front of Studio on the Square. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and pretty quick service. I love their roast beef sandwich covered in their special sauce, or as I like to call it, the oily goodness. I’ve also had their turkey, club and chicken salad sandwiches and all are very fresh and delicious. I usually order by the half and get a half-salad to go along with it. Soups are served daily– try the creamy lobster bisque or broccoli cheese. And don’t forget the«forgotten sandwiches” — awesome BLTs, grilled cheeses or PB&Js. Bogie’s also serves bagels and pastries for breakfast, and caters for breakfast or lunch meetings. I know it’s always a hit in my office.

A great sandwich shop with a huge selection bound to please even the pickiest of pallets. I absolutely love their Reuben. It’s served on toasted marble rye and piled high with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss and Russian dressing. But I have to say, it’s always a tough call, because the Muffalettas are outrageously good as well. They also offer what they call«The Best of the Wursts». You know, Bratwurst, Knockwursts and Liverwursts”. They’re all served on French rolls or marble rye and come with your choice of fixins. Also noteworthy(but only available on Fridays) is the Shrimp Salad.

Bogie’s offers good, quality lunch-type food, like deli sandwiches using Boar’s Head meat, salads, bagels(sprouted wheat, cinnamon, blueberry, and more), and desserts. By far, one of the best delis in Memphis. It’s kind of funny — Fridays only, you can get shrimp. Shrimp salad, with or without a variety of other salads — tuna and chicken. The sandwiches are pretty big, served on fresh bread with thick slices of meat, veggies, and cheese. I usually get a couple of scoops of chicken or tuna salad with a cup of soup or green salad and a lemonade. The perfect lunch on a hot day. If you’re a ‘wurst’ person, they have knockwurst, bratwurst, liverwurst, and baloney and cheese sandwiches, too. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll find cakes, brownies, and cookies to satisfy your craving. It’s a nice treat — I usually spend about $ 7 for a lunch.

The really key thing at Bogie’s is to never, ever have the pasta salad. Once you do, there’s no going back. No pasta salad for the rest of your life will ever compare. Setting aside the pasta salad, Bogie’s is a good all-around sandwich place with excellent bagels(when fresh) and a patio. The lox bagel sandwiches are indeed delightful, the pasta salad killer, and the caramel cake delicious, but they lose a star for the pervasive, dirty smell. Power-wash that patio, people!
