We just moved here and have been looking for some great restaurants and just kind of ended up here. Be aware, there are two restaurants in one(if you have never been). One side is more casual while the other side is a little nicer. The prices seem to be within the same range; it’s more of an ambiance thing. Food was amazing. Drink prices were good. Will definitely be going back!

We were searching for seafood gumbo that is not salty. Hooray… we found it at Bayou Bar & Grill. We did a take-out since we were on a cross country road trip(Boston to Los Angeles and San Francisco and return). Absolutely delicious… hopefully if we are in Memphis in the future, we will be sure to have a meal here.

I love the oysters! Bienville is my favorite. Great seafood. I get the grill combo-scallops shrimp and grouper with the dirty rice. This is one of my go-to places when it’s getting late I’m hungry or want to grab a beer. Service depends on the waiter you get– my last waiter was phenomenal… This waiter not so much. Order a water with your main beverage of choice in case they get too busy to check if you are dying of thirst! Lol overall it’s a great place to meet friends and watch a game. Lots of TVs. The patio is great when the weather is nice. They have a great selection of drinks– full bar, wine, draft and bottled beer and more.

Five stars for their incredible brunch. And the bacon wrapped shrimp. Never had a less than stellar brunch, and it’s on the regular rotation.

Our group stopped by to visit with a few friends on a Saturday night. I was surprised we were able to walk right in and grab a table top for 6 of us at 7 at night. It was busy but not packed. Our server was very friendly and immediately grabbed our drink orders. We all ordered beers on tap so they were delivered very quickly and chilled. Once we received our beers, our server checked by frequently to see if we needed refills. We opted not to order food this time around but from what I saw on the menu they had a nice selection. I definitely want to check it out in the future. The only negative I have to comment on was the noise. I felt like I was yelling to my friends constantly. They didn’t have the TV’s blaring so I guess it was just noisy/loud customers amongst us.

In town visiting. It was pretty good. Our server was really nice. We sat outside because it was a nice day. It was pretty packed inside & out. We ordered the magmosa’s to drink. They were champagne & grandmarnier(I’m sure that’s incorrectly spelled). Ordered the hot wings, they had a funny taste to the flavor like sage or rosemary. Probably wouldn’t try them again. We tried the stuffed shrimp. DELICIOUS!!! Probably the best thing on their menu. My friend ordered the gator nachos, she said iy was just ok. We all had the po boys. I had shrimp & crawfish po boy. My friend had clam & shrimp po boy. They were just OK. Seemed like frozen seafood to me. I’d never eat it again, I’d try something different. I was still eating my food & the waitress collected my plate. Not happy!!! She took my pickle. I would go back, but wouldn’t rush.

So we took a chance with the mixed reviews on Unilocal, and headed over to the Bayou Grill. We were pleasantly surprised! The staff were relatively attentive, granted it was a slow weekday evening. The vibe inside wasn’t the most appealing, but we did enjoy our experience here. Sitting on the patio, we enjoyed some pretty decent Cajun dishes and great deals on beer. The appetizer worth trying is the crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon with a spicy dipping sauce… savored every one. I ordered the shrimp and grits(one of my favorite Cajun/southern meals) and loved every bite of the huge entrée. My boyfriend really enjoyed the Jambalaya with gator(on the menu we received) and other meats; it wasn’t as spicy as other Jambalaya I’ve tasted, which I liked. We will be going back to possibly try other dishes, but definitely to get those we crave so much.

I haven’t been since they moved from across the street. My classmates & I arrived a few minutes before opening and we waited with 3 other groups. By 1130 they were packed. I had the artichoke dip which was yummy and the Macmosa– a mimosa with orange liqueur serve in their large soda cup. Loved it. You only need one. Great place to watch games b/c they have a large projector screen.

This place is for you if you are looking for a sports bar,…decent bar food and some things on the menu like the wings and soups are better than others. I recommend this place for watching any sports event lots of TVs and 2 projection screens. It is a laid back sports bar atmosphere different from the surrounding midtown places. The only thing here is service can be spotty have had to wait for drinks and food for quite a while before… they get a little off and rude sometimes just depending on your server we had good and terrible servers. But, this is still a great place to get a drink and watch a game.

I love the cajon food here. I’ve had Brunch and Supper here multiple times and they always have great cajon food. The oysters are huge and taste fresh, the Bloody Mary’s are the best I’ve ever had, and all the seafood dishes are amazing.

I came here with my roommate after work one night around 1030ish. The place was pretty empty so it wasn’t as crowded as it seems to regularly be. I don’t have much to say about this place that could be useful. Just«blah». It is supposed to be a cajun themed restaurant, but it has a weird Irish pub/hipster bar feel to it. Never had that feeling before in a cajun place although the décor definitely reflects the Great state of Louisiana. The place seems like they serve their fair share of beers, I had a blueberry beer that I cannot recall the name of, but It did not disappoint. Apparently you can buy a mug for their«beer club» and it is a yearly membership for 50 bucks and you can drink all their beers on tap after that for 3 bucks each. Pretty good deal for a local or for a broke college student I think. The food was ok. I ordered just plain chicken strips with fries and half a dozen oysters. The chicken strips were pretty delicious and I mixed the ketchup with some amazing hot sauce that has horseradish in it and it blew my mind. The oysters on the other hand were dry and had possibly been sitting out for a while. The only positive was that I found a pearl that was slightly bigger than a BB! The service was ok. The bartender seemed like he was preoccupied with closing procedures and helping other servers clean up and fold up silverware so that could definitely improve. Other than what I have posted up, I won’t go out of my way to come here again, but I would not mind giving them another shot.

Much better review of the Bayou this time. Our timing seemed to be just right this time. We had no problem getting a place on the patio. We had plenty of time and we were not hurried at all. Food was good, beer was flowing. Unfortunately, it started to rain. Staff was great at helping us to hustle inside and got us set up at a new table very quickly. The service was good, attentive and not pushy at all. We had a nice time this time, enjoyed ourselves.

Not sure what it is but the worst bartender/waitress in the city works here and I always seem to get her. I must have pissed off the food gods. Some good staff some really bad staff. Some decent food some not so decent food. Big tvs for sports and buckets of cold beer. Pretty much an average place all around but it serves it’s purpose from time to time.

Bloody Mary was way too salty, tasted like brine. Debris sandwich was also too salty. Potato skins tasted a little old. Key lime pie was excellent They had a nice crowd for the Grizz game

I usually love this place to watch a game. As we were there for on Friday nite, post winter storm 2015. The bar was empty. The wait staff and bartenders are extremely friendly and welcoming. I don’t know who this person was who was behind the bar, a «manager» perhaps, who did not acknowledge me or ask if i wanted anything, sitting with her back to the bar and her feet up on the cooler. After about 5 minutes and my clearing my throat a few times she finally turned around and sneered at me. We are frequent patrons but I was clearly being harrassed. We were there for an hour or so and this young woman continued to give me the«stink eye» for the duration. I have met the owners on several occasions and they are very friendly and make every effort to be accommodating, I doubt very seriously they would have approved of this behavior.

Met friends for lunch on Sunday — the place was packed. Saints football seemed to be a big draw. I got a house salad and a bowl on Seafood Gumbo. Salad was fresh — wish they made at least one of their dressings in-house. The Thousand Island I had was ok but definitely from a bottle. The service was good despite an overflow crowd. Food came out hot and fresh. The Seafood Gumbo had great flavor but could have used a little less rice. First time in a while that I did not add a good amount of hot sauce to my Gumbo — it was very tasty without it.

The service is just really bad here… which is why I’ll probably never be back. Ok, ok, I’ll probably be back, but I won’t be happy about it. The food is good, the drinks are good, the patio is good… but the blatant disregard the waiters have for the customers is just ridiculous. And this is more than a one time thing. I’ve waited and waited and waited for someone to take my order or bring me another drink too many times to count. So I guess this is the perfect place for people who just want a place to sit for awhile to «hang»…actually, now that I think about it, that does seem to be the clientele it attracts… Their sister restaurant is next door at La Chardonnay… they never seem to have that problem which is why I end up there at least once a week.
