Went with a party of six, and tried all six dinners — and I will say collectively that they were under seasoned. They just tasted very bland. I had the Eggplant Manicotti, and while that was not bad, the over sauced, bland tasting angel hair pasta that accompanied it was terrible. The grits were boring, the quail was basically just batter, and that to was under seasoned. I may give them another try, but then again with that many options in that particular area — I may not. I was not pleased at all.

I’ve been going to Boscos since 2011, and the quality of food has declined incrementally over the years. I ordered the shrimp carbonara on Saturday, and sent it back after a few bites, as it did not taste or smell ‘right.’ However, I experienced a bout of food poisoning on Sunday and Monday. Furthermore, my mom ordered the fish sandwich and she also has experienced food poisoning. The only reason I gave one star is because our server was awesome.

Had the calamari as an appetizer. Very light, fresh, and delicious. For mains we split a Shrimp and Grits and two pizzas. Everything was amazing! Shrimp was fresh and the Grits were velvety. Pizzas were light and crispy; what you would expect from the wood-burning oven. Had the Midtown Brown, an English-style Ale brewed in-house. Very good! Definitely recommend! :)

I had a business lunch meeting here and the food was great and the waitress was excellent. Also, my glass didn’t go empty not one time. The Buffalo chicken pizza was absolutely awesome, spicy just like I like it… #GreatFood #FatmacEntertainment

Went there with my two kids to grab a bite and have a glass of wine. We sat by the pizza oven. Great service, really good pizza and friendly people all around. Will be back!

I went to Boscos for dinner and I loved it. The customer service was exceptional. I loved our waitress. She really seemed to enjoyed her customer and even started a conversation with us, which I thought was cool. As for food, my friend and I ordered the hot spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer. It was delicious. We also both ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I ordered the garlic parmesan fries. The sandwich was really good. However, next time I will just order regular fries as the garlic parmesan fries were really oily. Don’t get me wrong they tasted good, but I didn’t like all that oil. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu!

Okay, so now I think I’ve just had enough of Bosco’s. The good beer has kept me back from giving them a crappy rating previously. Our last visit however was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The service was horrible and the manager’s reaction was ho-hum at best. We were a party of four. First we ordered an appetizer for the table to share. Then some of us ordered soup or salad for a starter and then a main course. While we were still working on the appetizer, the soups and salads came. I sent them back to give us time to finish the appetizer. When we finished, the soups and salad came, followed almost immediately by our main courses. I asked to have them taken back again, but they were only partially successful in that.(BTW, the tables are not big enough to handle that much stuff unless they clear the old stuff out fast.) To double up on the serving the first time was bad, but knowing we didn’t like it, to do it a second time was inexcusable. A manager came along and apologized, but you could see her heart wasn’t really in it. They got the bill wrong, but I covered it anyway. After the fact, on the way home, my wife asked me if the manager had comped any part of the bill. I hadn’t thought about that at all while we were there, but she hadn’t. Thinking back, that should have been done. The basics: — The beer is good. — The food is mediocre — The menu hasn’t changed in years. — The front desk is arrogant and forgets they are there to serve customers — The service ranges from OK to mediocre in general. The last visit was bad. — Management doesn’t seem to care. I don’t plan to go back. I don’t plan to bring my theater going friends back. There are other places that try harder.

Boscos Squared is located in mid-town – a revitalized section of Memphis that is bustling with restaurants, shops, activity, and potential customers. We were a large group and popped in for dinner after debating whether or not there were even open for dinner. The information online(and on Unilocal) is misleading – they are definitely open in the evenings. The service was spotty but it is always difficult to gauge service in another city. I come from a city of surprisingly weak customer service and I found the attentiveness, responsiveness, and overall care to be less than what I was expecting. There was no specific issue to focus on; just generally lackluster, disinterested service. The food was presented well and with obvious care and attention to visual details. Each plate was colorful and had a bit of modern flourish. Our party ordered pizza, the masa dish, steaks, burgers, humus, fried green tomatoes, salmon, calamari, and salads. The pizzas were defiantly the star of the table for me. They were flavorful and interesting. The other dishes were fine, but they(with the exception of the salmon) did not live up to the promise of their gourmet presentation. Boscos Squared provided an accommodating, light atmosphere in a new, «hip» part of town. I didn’t love the food, but there are plenty of reasons people might want to check them out.

This is a pretty nice place to hang out with some friends. We tried two of their seasonal beers that were phenomenal. I tried to two lighter IPA’s one of which donated $ 1.00 for every beer you purchased. I thought that was cool. The inside of the restaurant was really modern and comforting. Nice lights, nice seats and over all a good feel. We sat on the patio for this visit. Our food came out quickly and I have to say I hate goat cheese but I did like their California pizza! It was a little pricy but they are baked in a special kind of oven. Our waitress were awesome and funny just like most people in midtown. The only reason we gave this place 4 stars was because we found a hair in our friends Bloody Mary drink. We obviously got another one but still. Kind of nasty.

This is a good option for vegetarians. My boyfriend and I love to go to Boscos whenever we are in Memphis. We’re down for a nice sit-down with pizza and microbrews, so Boscos’s woodfired pizzas and tasty craft beers make for a fun and chill time. We’ve been to the other locations before they closed. Cool times were had at each, but this was my favorite location. Boscos Squared’s brunch is good and it has nice outdoor seating. It’s great to sit back and have their Hefeweizen. Try it! Veggie Suggestion: You can’t go wrong with either the Mediterranean or California pizza. Both are delicious!

Have been here for a quick dinner with co-workers and this place wowed me! I’m a veggie and the options for veggies are too good. We had a locally brewed German craft beer which was really great! The pizzas are wood fired oven and they taste really fresh! The staff was really nice and served pretty fast too. Definitely recommend this place for pizza lovers!!!

I had the Hunter Pizza which involved down duck confit(which I recommend you try some duck!), fried green tomato appetizer, and a flight of their beers… Food: Absolutely phenomenal. A great stone fire pizza with flavor I’m beyond pleased with. The fried green tomato app was delicious and could have had 3 or 4 orders of it The beer: the beer flavor would have been much better had the glasses actually been chilled. The mini mugs they served the beer in were warm to the touch which sadly ruined the experience. By the time I got halfway through my flight, everything was very warm and unfair to the beer(including the server who spilt every beer I had as he placed it). However even warm there were some definite winners. Much more care in their beer presentation is needed. Service: Friendly, attentive, and genuine. 3 stars for the beer fail *Update* Came on for brunch and pizza is not served during this time. The menu is very limited during this time. Also, fair warning: if the menu says«Add *** $X.XX» that means they’ll add up to $ 8 for just a small amount of chicken or whatever for that amount. Just so you don’t get surprised like we did today.

Always taking into consideration the type of establishment I rate accordingly. Is it a dive, fine dining, a café, what does the establishment specialize in, what are they known for. Atmosphere/Ambiance, Cleanliness, Service, Food Taste, Presentation and Cost are all taken into consideration of the type of establishment I am rating. For example, if I go to McDonald’s and order a cookie. I am not going to give them 1 star for serving me a sub-standard product(although you can’t beat those 3 for .99 cent cookies) in comparison to a cookie purchased at a Bakery that specializes in cookies. Now, if I go to hypothetical Bakery and get a cookie that taste like the McDonald’s cookie and pay $ 4 for said cookie, then 1 star is in order. Let the review begin… Items Ordered: Calamari w/Chile Marinara Sauce. Shrimp Carbonara Gorgonzola Pear Salad Overall the food was good, service was excellent. Price point did not meet the portion sizes nor the ambiance/cleanliness. Pictures attached.

I’ve been here a few times, usually for brunch, but today I went for dinner. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It’s my go to meal at most places in Memphis. I like that they butterfly the shrimp so you can cut them into smaller pieces giving you more shrimp per bite. The Tasso gravy was nice too with lots of flavor. I do prefer a more cheesy grit though. I would recommend this dish and I would order it again. Service was good. We sat on the patio and it was a surprise to have a giant cooling fan out there — woohoo! Thought that was awesome.

Since when did they do away with the Chesapeake Pizza??? I was very disappointed! I still love sitting on their patio, drinking their awesome beer, and eating the wood oven shrimp with the crusty bread to sop up all the garlicky juices. Tried the Palermo Pizza and was verrrry underwhelmed. The crust was just not at all right. The sausage was to anise-y. Just sad. And it’s rare that pizza makes me sad. Bring back the Chesapeake!!!

I was stalking Unilocal as usual(lol) and stumbled on all the great brunch spots in Overton square. I really didn’t know where I would stop, but when I saw the picture of the cheese eggs I couldn’t resist. I sat on the patio(entirely too cool) and enjoyed the view as well as the food. The waitress was very slow. She disappeared about 80 times but other than that it was pretty nice. Try the Belgian waffle and cheese eggs!

The pizza was yummy. It was a beautiful day out after a long winter and we were looking to sit out on a patio for lunch… alas, the patio was full here and everywhere else. We sat inside, wishing they had opened the big windows. Soon, I am sure! I always drink greyhounds, which are just vodka and grapefruit juice. It was very fresh, rather than canned. Just a warning to other grapefruit juice drinkers… it was pink and pulpy. Not a bad thing, just a surprise. I am sure we will go back sometime!

This was our first visit — it was at 5:40 on a Wednesday in Feb. We ordered an appetizer fried green tomatoes. I had the blackened fish sandwich with fries and added salad and my wife ordered the Black bean tamales with corn and a salad. Well, it was… okay. It wasn’t memorable, but the food was fine, except for the corn. If you’ve ever had The yellow corn(elote) from deli Mexicana in Germantown, this is nothing like that! We would not get it again. The service was okay.

I’ve been to Bosco’s a few times, but not recently until about 10pm last night… and they need some improvement in the service area. The Greeter was polite, but not very friendly. She needs to smile and greet people as they enter… not be distracted and«matter of fact» in manner. The server/waitress was polite, but needed to be better informed about the food(she had problems answering questions about specific dishes). She also disappeared for a lengthy time between giving us the menu and taking the order. The food itself(red snapper with étouffée) was tasty, but not served hot. Again — maybe it was poor service and the server might have been slow to pick it up from the kitchen. Or maybe the chef served us warmed over food — who knows? The vegetable medley side dish was overcooked and overpriced. Would I go back? Probably not. There are better choices in the Overton Square area.

I came here a couple months ago with my parents. The food was alright, but the service was terrible. Terrible as in multiple times I had to get up and find someone to refill our drinks. It takes a lot for me to say anything negative. That was a huge issue. They weren’t even crowded. However I give this place three stars because I went this past Sunday and really enjoyed it. Sunday brunch is from 10:30 to 3 with a live band playing in the front corner. The live music made the experience so much more enjoyable. I got the Oskar Benedict and wiped my plate clean. That’s actually a first. Once again though… the service. Our waitress was a lot better than my prior experience, but I think this should really be a focal point for them. Service can make or break an experience more so than the food. If you go I recommend going for Sunday brunch. It’s a pretty cool atmosphere with that band!
