Morgan Jewelers specializes in custom jewelry design for precious metals and gemstones. With experience in platinum, yellow gold and white gold as well as diamonds and other gemstones. Morgan Jewelers help you create a unique statement that is truly your own. Morgan Jewelers’ portfolio of custom work includes earrings, rings, pendants and charms. You can choose to work with specialists in estate jewelry to recreate heirloom pieces or a contemporary designer with a modern flair.

Watch repair services include battery changes, crystal and band replacement, cleaning and other maintenance service. Most watch batteries are available in stock, but customers are encouraged to call

History

Established in 1981.

Founded in 1981, Morgan Jewelers began as a vision and dream for Philip Higgins. It was earlier in the 1970’s when Philip went to his first estate jewelry show in New York City and was introduced to the art and design of exquisite pieces. Captured by the excitement and beauty of the industry, Philip returned home to Boston determined to bring the beauty of custom designed work he found in New York City to his own community.

More than 30 years later, Morgan Jewelers is one of the Boston area’s finest family-​owned jewelry stores. Located on Main Street in Melrose, Massachusetts, Morgan Jewelers offers a variety of fine jewelry, certified gemstones, pearls and watches, and is an authorized representative of Howard Miller grandfather clocks and many other fine brands. Morgan Jewelers also specializes in custom designed pieces, including earrings, rings and charms.

Business Owner

A Boston area native, Philip grew up in Melrose, MA and attended college locally at Bunker Hill Community College. He spent eight years after college working for Roy K. Eyges Inc., a prominent Boston jewelry firm, after which he discovered his passion for running a family-​owned business.

Today, Philip serves as the founder and president of Morgan Jewelers, Inc. but also works every day in the store and with customers and jewelry designers to find and create unique pieces. Customer service is paramount to his business, so Philip works to ensure that every customer’s experience is positive.

Took my engagement ring in to Morgan Jewelers for a sizing and I could not be happier! They sized the ring in less than a half hour and gave it a good polish as well. :) They also helped me adjust an old spoon ring that I adore. Conveniently located close to Somerville/​Medford/​Arlington. Pretty little pond across the street to sit by while they work too!

These guys are great! We did two resizings — very quick no problems and great fit. I also worked with Phil on a custom piece using an old stone. He was so helpful, had great ideas on what we could do and picked out exceptional accent stones for the piece. Very easy to work with, great pricing and fantastic work. Highly recommended!

Phil and Bill are amazing! I would recommend Morgan Jewelers to anyone I know. I went in 3 weeks ago with an idea to maybe take my diamond earrings and add them to my engagement ring setting. With the help and design of Bill, I cannot believe how beautiful this ring has turned out. I was able to keep the integrity of my original ring with a new look for the diamonds. It is just perfect! Thank you both for making this happen.

This place is great. Went in on a nasty rainy day to get my wedding rings rhodium dipped. At first they said it’ll take until tomorrow to get it done, they called me later that day and said the rings were ready to be picked up.
Super nice people, great quality, beautiful jewelry and great prices. All those 5 stars review are well deserved.

Great experience! Dropped my engagement ring off here to get it re-​dipped in rodeum before the wedding. Great service and really quick too! Only took about 30 minutes and you can’t beat the price. $ 10! I will definitely be back any time I need this service again.

I called Morgan Jeweler’s in the morning about resizing my ring. They were super friendly and told me to come right in. I inquired about same day service and how it was really important to me to get my ring back the same day. They told me that they would do their best to accommodate that since I had a very simple setting. When I arrived, both Bill and Phil were awesome! Before taking my ring to resize, they measured my diamond in front of me and had me look through a loupe to inspect my diamond for any memorable flaws so I knew the diamond being returned to me was mine! I asked for a 3.5, and they confirmed with a ring size measurement. After resizing the ring to a 3.5, they had me try it on before putting the finishing touches. They felt the 3.5 was too big, and gave me really helpful advice on how the ring should properly fit (a little struggle to get the ring over the knuckles). They watched me take the ring on and off several times. They felt like I needed a 3.25. I originally thought I was a 4 so it took a little convincing, but I agreed to the 3.25. I am so thankful I listened to them because the 3.25 is perfect! After resizing it to a 3.25, they had me try it on again for size. The ring looks beautiful! I got it back in 45 minutes! There are very few jewelers that can do same day service for a platinum ring! I would definitely recommend them for ring sizing. Thank you Morgan Jewelers!

I got my the engagement ring for my fiancée here and couldn’t be happier! I went into the store knowing next to nothing about jewelry and Phil did a great job patiently explaining everything and answering every single question I had. After multiple visits, phonecalls, and emails (All of which were answered promptly) Phil tracked down a beautiful diamond and designed a custom setting that was a perfect match to the image I had in my head. Even though I wasn’t breaking the bank, Phil was friendly, professional and helpful throughout the entire process. I couldnt have had a better experience and I recommend Phil and Morgan Jewelers anytime I tell my engagement story.

Morgan Jewelers is the best! Always dependable, reasonably and competitively priced, and expedient. Philip has been the jeweler that my family has gone to since I can remember! I have several pieces of jewelry from Morgan Jewelers; have had my engagement ring (bought elsewhere) cleaned and replated by Philip several times; and purchased my wedding band from Morgan’s. Morgan Jewelers was personally recommended by a friend who had gone to them for his wedding/​engagement rings. These guys are phenomenal. Down to earth, honest, very knowledgeable, and never trying to up sell you. They did some incredibly beautiful custom work on my wife’s engagement ring (using stones from an old ring and putting it in a new setting to match another family ring to be used as the wedding band). Through the process both Bill and Phil have been great to work with and although it’s a 45 minute drive, we make the trip from our place and will in the future whenever we need a quality jeweler.

I needed to have my engagement/​wedding set re-​appraised for insurance purposes. Morgan Jewelers offered convenient free parking and very fast service. I was able to get an initial quote while I was there, didn’t need to leave my ring with them and received a thorough, typed appraisal within a week via email. I was extremely pleased with the service and price, and would definitely recommend them to others!

I brought my engagement ring here (which was purchased elsewhere) to be resized. I brought it in late in the day, around an hour before closing, and it was ready for me to pick up the next day, which was amazing! The price was also very reasonable, I think $ 35. They also offered that if it needed to be further resized I could bring it back within the next week and they would do it for free.
I was nervous about having it resized because the ring has engraving around the band, but they did an excellent job — I couldn’t even tell anything was done to the band except that it fits now!
The one thing I took off a star for is that they must have removed the diamond during resizing because one of the 6-​prongs isn’t equally spaced, and I’m almost positive it was before. Since it’s a new ring I still stare at it a lot and the prong spacing bothers me a little bit, but not enough to bring it back in to be fixed yet. Overall an excellent experience though and I would highly recommend this jeweler!

I called Morgan’s in an act of desperation as I needed some jewelry cleaned for a special event. My original plan fell through and I was left searching for someone else, so I gave Morgan’s a call. Without hesitation they told me to «come on by»…within an hour my jewelry was cleaned beautifully and with a sense of pride in their work. Best part… they don’t charge to clean jewelry. Bonus!

I can’t say enough good things about Morgan jewelers. I had a very old, very worn, very beat up ring that belonged to my grandmother. It needed a lot of work done to fix it, but they were willing to take on the job. After talking to them a few times, it was decided it was best to recreate the ring using the gold from the original ring and I was able to add a stone from my great grandmother’s ring, incorporating two heirloom pieces into one. Wow! What a beautiful piece they created! And at a very reasonable price! I am in love with my ring that has such special meaning. They were very patient with me and excited to take this project on. Their pride in their work shows in this BEAUTIFUL ring that I will treasure always. I highly recommend Morgans jewelers.

These guys literally made my marriage possible!
I came to Morgan Jeweler’s via a woman in my office whose parents loved the store. So I went on a whim — I was desperate. My fiancé and I decided to elope. Hurray! We went in search of a jeweler who could take a family ring of mine and custom make both my and my new husband’s wedding bands using the diamonds — in three weeks. Had to have rings, or couldn’t get married in St. Lucia (super specific wedding requirements!).
Phil was amazing. I went to the store with just my family’s ring and no real idea of what I was looking for, and Bill drew out a couple of designs that were great, but then later that night I found exactly what I was looking for in a Google images search, emailed it to them and voila — the design I was looking for (with a minor tweak that made it BETTER!) was created. My husband’s ring is exactly what he wanted, and they were able to tweak his design as well to truly make it a custom fit.
Between coming in before deadline, right on budget (with exceptional prices, to boot!) and with stunning craftmanship, I couldn’t have been happier, except…
My husband also bought my wedding gift here. Knowing I have eclectic taste, and having only met me once or twice, Phil was able to steer him from the direction of what he was thinking (something nice) to something that was a little more unusual (and amazing and perfect).
I cannot recommend this store enough — as newly minted Melrosians, our plan is for this to be our family jewelry store. I smile EVERY time I drive by! Go here, you won’t regret it!

I found out about Morgan Jewelers through Unilocal actually. I needed to get my engagement ring appraised for insurance purposes, so I did a search on Unilocal for jewelers near me. I read the positive reviews about Morgans & took my ring there the next day. Both Bill & Phil were incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Phil was able to give my fiancée & I a verbal appraisal after inspecting the ring right on the spot. My fiancée was happy to learn he had at least paid what it was worth & I could tell Phil’s credibility from how much he knew about the ring without seeing any paperwork. The written appraisal was VERY reasonably priced compared to other jewelers I have used in the past.
Being so happy with the appraisal process, I asked if they could do my re-​sizing as well. The store my fiancée purchased my ring at can do it for free, but it has to be sent away for 2 weeks. Phil said they could re-​size the ring while I waited! I definitely think we will be going back there to pick wedding bands.

I found Morgan Jewelers on Unilocal and wanted to say thank you! I have an unusual shaped engagement ring and recently got married! I searched for a LONG time and finally decided to just get a ring I loved. It doesn’t fit snugly against my engagement ring so it spun around on my finger and I found that annoying.
Long story short… I not only had my rings soldered together beautifully but the prongs were checked and both rings were Rhodium plated to look like new! The work was done by the next day. Phil Higgins was friendly, professional and answered all of my questions. The shop has been in business for well over 30 years. The work was done ahead of time and for a phenomenal price. I Will be back!

Morgan Jewelers is seriously amazing!!! My husband took my solitaire engagement ring and wedding bands (which were soldered together) in and asked if a halo could be added on. Phil did everything he could to make sure I got my dream ring. I literally couldn’t be any happier with how my ring turned out. And he unsoldered my rings perfectly. Seriously if you want a halo added to your ring or any upgrades done Morgan jewelers is the place to go. You will NOT be disappointed!

Friendly and knowledgable small business. I just paid $ 5 per replacement battery for a couple of watches. They will coat rings in rodium for only $ 10. The work is done on premises very quickly.
