S & S Towing

This people are horrible is not there fault is the fault of the owners of this store in oak park are area old navy and pier and gap for allowing this S&S towing to tow in their stores so they so greedy do not shop in this area those stores they have to break the contract and move for this greedy owner trying to profit from towing also! They tow my car wrongfully and when I ask them for photos they say we don’t showing nothing but they will pay me back for towing my car!

The manager of this company is professional but some of the employees are not-​at least the one we dealt with. He showed a picture of the tow we were disputing and said he was ‘being nice ’ showing anything at all. According to him, we did not deserve to see any evidence that we were wrong. He even agreed that in the picture it looked like there was evidence that the car was wrongfully towed but said they were told to «tow it anyway». The tow turned out to be valid and it would have been nice to be able to know that before going through all that we had to because of this. We would consider this company an honest tow company if they had reasonably addressed our doubts about the validity of the tow but they behaved in a fashion that made us think they were being dishonest. It most likely is the fact that this company’s reputation doesn’t matter — they will always get money in exchange for return of cars so why would this company care what anyone thinks?

What can I say. They are a predatory service. They go through our expansive lot at my apartment building everyday and every time I am home I see them look at every car for stickers. My husband backs his car in and since the sticker is in the back window the driver stops and has to get out and look for the sticker. A couple of times I have yelled at the guy that it’s my husbands car and leave it alone.
One time we bought a new car and my landlord isn’t on premise after 4:30pm which is when we left dealership with the car to bring it home. So we couldn’t obtain a sticker. Luckily I noticed S&S coming down the parking lot I made it down stairs before he could hook it up with phone call already placed to police that they were trying to take my newly purchased vehicle. Cop showed up told them they couldn’t take the car because registration showed car belonged here tow truck guy argued with cop and he told him to get off the property. Plus he called towing company and said that my car was off limits as sticker would be obtained tomorrow when landlord returns to property. The driver was upset that he didn’t get my car.

My 21 year old son is a very nice young man who is a pre-​med student, and who came to visit me, his mom, early evening on a Saturday night, January 31, 2015. We went to dinner and arrived back at my apartment at about 7:30 p.m. We visited for an hour and a half, and then I walked him out to his car to say good-​bye at 9:01 p.m. His vehicle was gone. I assumed it was stolen, because S&S isn’t supposed to tow until after 9:00 p.m., so my first call was to the police. However, the car wasn’t stolen; it had been towed by S&S. Although it was exactly 9:01 p.m. when we realized the car was missing, we saw no tow truck leaving the scene, nor was there a tow truck anywhere in sight. I find it very hard to believe that S&S was able to hook-​up this vehicle to its tow truck and drive away, out of sight, in less than 60 seconds! Because of this, my ex-​husband is taking my son’s car away, and my son will have no way to get back and forth from Champaign/​Urbana, or to take care of his school commitments that he cannot get to via bus. Of course, my ex is a jerk, and both my son and I were verbally abused by him as well. I have no way to visit my son, so I anticipate I won’t be seeing him very much anymore. These people have no idea how their evil practices impact innocent families. I’m very sad.

What a ratchet business and the association from the Appartments we live. Even known have a sticker to park. They tow my car. I call and told them they made a mistake. They stil don’t care and charge. Why do apartment hire towing companies like this ?
This hunters have no quality of life.

Oh boy, here we go, my first 1-​star review…
The goddamn pirates of Melrose Park towed my car in my own apartment parking lot at 2am on a Saturday. I wasn’t inside my humble pad for 2 hours when I came out to find an empty spot where my silver sedan used to be. The time stamp confirmed that they took it away 5 MINUTES before I came outside, which is about the worst timing in history. In 8 years of owning my ride, I’ve never had it towed before. Ever.
Fast forward to the next day, the dude at the impound sitting behind 3 inches of bulletproof glass barks at me to fork over $ 200. Alright fine, whatever, shut up and take my money, bandits… oh wait, they don’t accept Discover, only visa/​mastercard, so I can’t even get my cashback points for retrieving my beloved car. #firstworldproblems
Because these thieves had SUCH a successful night of carjacking, mine was triple parked in their lot, so I had to wait for the tattooed tow guy to return from a job. Of course then he had to nest his latest haul in a spot before he could shuffle around the two cars that were blocking me in. All in all, this took about 30 – 45 minutes of standing in the snow and bitter cold, as there was no place to sit inside. What the blank.
So yeah. I’d give these assmonkeys negative 1 star if Unilocal allowed me.
What were you expecting? 5 stars for excellent value and outstanding customer service? Eff that, these guys blow. If S&S Towing were a person, I would teabag them mercilessly before I donkeypunched them from behind. Then I’d bang their mom, sister, and girlfriend, and never call any of them back.

I HATE S and S towing. My landlord called to let them know that a rental car will be parked in my spot and they still towed my rental car. Then the lady on the phone was so damn confused she must be a relative in need of a job because she didn’t have any skills on how to handle situations. I hope this company doesn’t last long because they are only out to take people’s money. Whoever owns this company needs to be ashame of yourself. I know it’s people that do park unauthorized but in this situation I wasn’t. So please believe me you will get what’s coming to you when you wrongly take money out of people’s pockets. You will lose more than you trying to gain. Please believe me…

A patient was parked in my lot and seen on an emergency basis. We come out, and her car was towed. This company has predatory practices and stated she didn’t have a sticker, which no patient has when seeing the Dr. I reported them once before for their practices to the Better Business Bureau and am definitely going to report them again. Secondly, they attempted to write her credit card number down after scanning it, attempting to steal twice. Beware!!!

Absolute racket. Was towed on a Sunday, for allegedly being over the three hour limit in Oak Park. No proof of time into the lot is attainable or given when requested.
These guys are crooks and cowards. I walked out of a store with my family and the drivers were hooking up my car. As they drove away, I chased them down on foot and forced the driver to stop. Driver was a complete a*hole and wouldn’t even tell me where he was taking it or why.
I got to the lot 20 minutes ahead of the driver, who must have stopped somewhere to rub yellow paint on it, have lunch and forcibly enter the vehicle. It’s a 4wd, and it now makes a noise in the diff, thanks to the tow.
If all the local villages weren’t in on the take from these jerks, someone would probably shut them down.

Despicable company. Car illegal towed and the key-​scratched. Woman who worked at front window, with IQ of 6, asked me to sign a release, releasing company from liability. Of course I would not sign it.

These people are crooks, this is a scam and they are terrible people to work with. After towing a friends car we showed up to retrieve it. They would not allow me to escort her to her car to get her drivers license out of it. We had to call the police before they would allow her to be safely escorted to her car. 1.5 hours later we had the car. They teated my friend like s**t. They should be ashamed of themselves. Beware of these crooked, evil people!

Although my vehicle parking sticker was on display my vehicle was towed from my condo complex parking lot. It cost me over $ 200 cash to release the car and once it was back in my possesion the bumper was scratched! I was told I could file a complaint in an effort to review my case with no guareentees about getting my cash back but the process could take months. forget it, I just wanted my car.
The whole operation was very shady. Call on the phone and people won’t even give you their names just an id number. I’m in the towing business and these guys make everybody look bad.

I worked at the Starbucks in that Harlem & Lake center with a colleague recently, which I have done several times in the past. I parked in between the Whole Foods and Starbucks because I was going to go into Whole Foods to shop after I was done. However, when I got out my car was gone. It cost me $ 196 to get it back from S&S Towing. I now realize there are signs posted, but in a suburban environment surrounded by storefronts, I’m not used to scanning the lot for no parking signs. I don’t think most people are.
I can understand the potential need for this rule, but on a weekday, with so many empty spots available in this big lot, I felt like the victim of a very organized scam. I cannot even begin to fathom how I could be punished for simply trying to spend money in the businesses in the area. Needless to say I did not go back to Whole Foods. And I never, ever will go back to any store in that area again. My co-​workers and I will never meet there again. It feels too much like a predatory process — not to enhance the customer experience or even protect the local businesses, but simply to get more money from people.

The employees were friendly, especially since they just made $ 340.00 off me and a family member…
I will never shop in River Forest or use their parking lot again! 3 hours parking limit in a shopping center, with a Starbucks and Panera Bread, etc is unheard of and a SCAM!
I REPEAT DO NOT SHOP RIVER FOREST OR PARK YOUR CAR THERE! Park and shop in Oak Park, or you will be paying big bucks to S & S towing.
