Maxine’s Salon & Spa

Great place to meet a friend and catch up over pedicures and a glass (or 2) of wine. Very friendly staff. OPI polish. Overall a great value for the service provided. This was a nice change from the hustle in and out of the normal nail salon. A very unique experience as it doesn’t have the hair/​nail salon vibe. I highly recommend and will be visiting again.

Please DO NOT go here to get your nails done!!! I had THE worst experience. May 25^th I got married. For the big day, I wanted to get a full set and a pedicure. Instead of just going to a regular nail salon, I thought going to a spa would be wonderful! I was totally wrong. I made an appointment at this salon with my 2 sisters expecting an amazing experience. Booked it a couple days before my wedding. (It was the Friday before.) When I got there, they were understaffed. They started with my sisters, and were supposed to work on my manicure shortly there after. Unfortunately, they were running very behind, and I didn’t even get started until my sister were almost done. Because were on a tight schedule (lots to do for the rehearsal dinner) and Maxine’s was running SO behind, I told my sisters to go on ahead without me. I finished the rest of the manicure and pedicure alone. (Which was approximately 2 hours.) So disappointing. It took the ladies doing my manicure and pedicure over 3 hours because they couldn’t get the acrylic to stick to my nails with their glue. (Something I had never experience anywhere else!) The very next day, Saturday, ONE of my nails fell off. I couldn’t believe it!!! It was the day before my wedding. I went to a local nail salon that I trusted and they told me whoever did my nails, did a TERRIBLE job. They were all weak. Fortunately, the other nail salon fixed the nail that had fallen off. When I called the manager of Maxine’s, and explained my situation, she was not apologetic or and told me they would not compensate me in anyway. Instead she defended her salon and told me all she could do was offer me 20% off on my next visit. (Obviously I would never go back!) On the actual day of my wedding, Sunday, TWO MORE nails fell off during my hair and makeup!!! It was while I was sitting in a chair, doing nothing. I was so upset but tried to keep my cool. My makeup artist said she never had seen anything like that happen. At the reception, TWO MORE nails fell off. I paid over $ 55 for my manicure and it lasted one day. 5 nails total fell off. Usually it’s so hard to get your nails off after you get them done because they are very strong. Not Maxine’s nails. My sister also had 3 nails fall off a couple days after the wedding. Although I can’t speak to Maxine’s other services, I can tell you their salon does not know how to do nails and their management needs customer service training.

We had three appointments set up. My sister was getting married on a Sunday. We went there Friday. I had a acrylic set done, it took her an hour and a half to do a full set! She critiqued my normal salon saying that Asians use drills and hard filing… yet, I’ve never had problems with the salon I’ve seen for 5 years. I went to this one thinking I would have an enjoyable afternoon with my sisters. That did not happen!
My older sister getting married had a full acrylic set and a pedicure. The nail tech complained the entire time stating she needed to leave. The whole experience took 3 hours and she left without her sisters being there and the design she didn’t want.
The day following her nails being done, TWO fell off! Can you imagine the day before your wedding TWO nails falling off? She went to the «oh so bad Asian salon» and they questioned who did her nails so terribly! During her «fixing» process two additional nails fell off!
On her wedding day, out of the six that remained of the «original» Maxine’s work… Two more fell off and we had to glue them!
In addition to this, two days following the wedding… After FOUR of my nails breaking … I took them all off!
We called to complain and the manager defended their work! Even though we had pictures to prove it! She did not apologize just offer 20% off the next visit! Never will we go back!
To top it all off… They told us they are running a special to get new customers so with 20% it would be very inexpensive! Duh because you are terrible!
Highly highly highly do not recommend!!!
