Go if you strictly want a gynecologist.
I have a healthy 10 year old daughter, and had a most unpleasant experience trying to find an obstetrician willing to work with me in the Commonwealth. I’d steer clear of this one for obstetric care.
From the first appointment, she made it clear she did not appreciate & did not look forward to providing obstetric care for a 37 year old pregnant patient. She insisted on testing I know is not that reliable, seemed most interested in the fact that the baby had a risk of Downs’ Syndrome.
That seemed to be her only focus – finding those babies with Downs. I was offered no advice as far as prenatal nutrition. I was given no hope of having a healthy pregnancy or baby, even asked to submit NOT to an ultrasound, but a «pregnancy ultrasound», just in case your baby has something like a heart defect.
I was driving out of my way to see a professional who had been referred to me by my then primary care physician only to get a most unpleasant response every visit. Look, if someone doesn’t want my business, they should just say so. Or say, «I don’t want to see you as a patient, but here is a referral to a high risk practitioner who will accept you.»
I finally couldn’t take any more when I checked her out on my insurance website & found she had been sanctioned by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine within a 10 year period. I found a place close to home & delivered at MGH a perfectly healthy girl.
I find practitioners in this area to have a very creepy attitude about such topics as abortion & prenatal genetics testing. If someone wants the testing, fine, but what part of the word NO do they not seem to understand? Really creepy attitude for people who claim to be so pro «choice».
