Peace, Love and Little Donuts

Decent.
One type and size of round doughnut with lots of varying toppings, glazes. Not the normal donut shop… Seems like they’re trying to reinvent the wheel.
I guess I’m partial to being able to choose, like: a bar vs a round, choc cake or white, filled or not. Not to mention the occasional apple fritter, bear claw or donut holes. All of which aren’t available here.
On the positive, free donut for checking in got us to try them out… Sadly, Once was enough.

Have you ever had a dry, hard donut (a.k.a. stale)? If not, this is the place to go. The icing has no flavor profile other than old, refrigerated powdered sugar and fake cherries. They’re closed on sundays. Their «maple bacon» donut is like bacon bits swimming in nasty maple flavored sugar… I can’t believe I can get better quality donuts from the day-​old rack at Fred Meyers. For a small business they should do better than this.
I’ve had donuts everywhere in my 40+ years, and I’ve worked in the food service industry… To couple bad food with exceptionally bad service is a death sentence for a business, especially when a person in charge is worse than the person running the front. Listen, I’m all about peace and love, but when you’re obviously abusing a public place and the customers that are paying YOUR bills, you might want to party at home and leave it there. Obviously this business is going to fail.

This place is as bad as donuts come. The first thing I did was ask the guy working what his personal favorite is. His response was ‘I dont know, I dont eat them’. Are you kidding me? I should have walked out right their but my girlfriend wanted to try them so I let it pass.
The donuts themselves were not special at all. I have had better donuts from Winco. No Joke

The first time we ate at Peace, Love and Little Donuts was their little place in the strip district, Pittsburgh. They told us they’d jus opened a new location in Medford, OR — hey, we know that town! So we decided to give this one a try.
The kids love that you can have them frost and top your donut right before your eyes. The creativity here is definitely in the toppings and combinations – maple bacon? Yes please! They have different types of donuts based on topping complexity, but you soon realize that they are all the same donut just dressed differently, and so for example the Boston cream is a regular tiny cake donut with chocolate frosting and a little dollop of Boston cream on top.
The donuts were nicely crunchy but a little dry, and again, they were all basically the same. I think in the future, unless the kids specifically ask to go there, we’ll satisfy our cravings somewhere with some actual variety.

CLOSED ON SUNDAYS
You sell donuts. Sunday is the donutest day of the week.
My family and I have tried to purchase donuts three Sunday’s in a row to be utterly mystified as to why on Earth you would be closed on Sunday.
Probably never going here again.

I’ve only been here once, but I knew that they had bacon donuts so I had to go in and try one. I was not disappointed. Another review said that the bacon donut was not good, but in my opinion, the fresh tasting bacon on top of a maple frosted cake donut was amazing. It was the best bacon donut I have tasted and I’ve had three different ones from three different places in three different states. :-)

They have so many yummy looking donuts that I had a hard time deciding what to get, so I asked the clerk what his favorite was. He replied that he didn’t eat them himself. Definitely not the best thing to say when you are selling donuts! He could have made something up, or suggested a customer favorite.

Amazing staff. The young man working had a great attitude. The donuts on the other hand were absolutely disgusting. Picked up a maple bacon for my husband– he only ate 1 bite and threw it away. And the donut I had was not any better. Chocolate tasted cheap and the donut itself was not impressive.
If a business could survive with just amazing employees and a low level product this place would get 5 stars.

Yummy, their doughnuts are imaginative and well crafted with quality ingredients and love. The people who work there are pleasant and obviously like what they are doing.
