History

Established in 1995.

I had been playing professionally for about 18 years when I began to realize how much I enjoyed explaining music and even the physical act of playing the

guitar to people. I began teaching full time by 1998, and have continued to perform and teach ever since.

Meet the Business Owner

Matthew D.

Business Owner

Matthew Dorko

has been studying, writing and performing with the guitar for over 30 years. He has been teaching Improvisation, Theory and Technique in a variety of styles for over a decade.

Much of his childhood was spent in New Orleans, where he was deeply influenced by that city’s rich musical heritage. At The University of new Orleans, he was fortunate enough to study with Jazz patriarch Ellis Marsallis, and other great players who helped shape his approach to the jazz and improvisation in general.

Matthew has been living in the greater Boston area since 1995, where he performs regularly and maintains a brisk teaching schedule.
