History

Established in 1990.

DrumConnection began across from Harvard University in 1990 at CCAE as a course in hand drumming for beginners. Alan Tauber, the director, taught all classes and trained other drummers in how to teach hand drumming. We moved to the Arlington Center for The Arts in 1993 and are Percussionists in Residence. In 2006 we grew to the all-in-one DrumConnection at the Gibbs School in Arlington. Classes were held 6 – 7 days a week.

In 2011, DrumConnection opened a Retail Store at 177 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA across from the Capital Theater at Lake Street. We are both a shop for all drums and repairing drums, as well as a 7 days a week School of Percussion. Around 7pm when the other shops close up, we ramp up our day with Nightly Drumming Classes, yes, 7 days a week. We also have a bimonthly drumcircle there, as well as Framingham, MA

Join us for tons of fun and the REAL DEAL in Djembe and Dunun West African Drumming!
