Dancer Strong Academy is devoted to developing physical strength, mental strength and grace through proper training and sound education of today’s young dancers.

At Dancer Strong Academy we strive to maintain a positive environment where young dancers will thrive. Our traditional values help our dancers build confidence through hard work and personal achievement. Each dancer will learn that hard work and dedication will help them reach their goals in dance and in life.

At our dance studio our educated, quality staff is committed to providing a dance education that is second to none in order to prepare our students for college and the professional world. We believe that dance is much more than teaching «steps». Dance requires a level of time commitment and energy, so we want all of our dancers to view Dancer Strong Academy as their creative home away from home.

Dancer Strong Academy is focused on physical fitness, wellness, and creating a love for dance that will unite us all.

Join us in our four dance studio facility for dance classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary, lyrical, twirl, ballroom, and Irish. We also offer fitness classes such as yoga and Zumba. Ages 18 months through adult welcome.

History

Established in 2012.

Dancer-​Strong began as a mobile dance and fitness training service based in McKinney, TX. As a mobile service, we were able to travel to your facility to provide dance technique and conditioning, private dance lessons, choreography, and fitness training.

Dancer Strong Academy opened in June 2012 in McKinney TX. With the introduction of the four studio academy, Dancer Strong is now able to provide a full class schedule for students ages 3 and up.

Meet the Business Owner

Carla M.

Business Owner

Carla Mullendore began dancing over 33 years ago. She has been teaching for over 23 years, dancing professionally for over 22 years, and involved in the competition world for over 23 years. In addition, Carla has worked for more than 18 years as a fitness professional.

Carla’s professional dancing career has taken her all around the world. Besides the opportunities to perform with the companies she studied with, she performed with Benita Bike Dance Art Company which toured Poland. She danced on the MS Crystal Symphony, Crystal Cruises where she performed pieces of Chicago, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Evita, Les Miserables, CATS, Mama Mia, Miss Saigon, Chorus Line, Le Jazz Hot, Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweet Charity, Mame, Little Gigi, Hello Dolly, a Grease Medley, and an entire show based on Cole Porter music. Most recently she played the role of Cassandra in CATS which performed in the Los Angeles area.
