Specialties
At Metrowest Kung Fu, we teach traditional Chinese martial arts in order to enrich both our students and our community. Through the instruction of a rare and ancient Kung Fu style known as Huaquan (as well as Yang Style Tai Chi), we give our students a well-rounded approach to deal with life’s problems, survive life’s struggles, and appreciate life’s gifts.
History
Established in 2015.
Metrowest Kung Fu is a branch of Shaolin Kung Fu Centers. The organization was founded in 1990 by Sigung Joe Maury, a student of Chen Hai Fuk, who studied Huaquan under the grandmaster Cai Gui Qin. When Sigung Maury and his wife Sifu Sara relocated to the south, his student Sifu Gary LaChapelle assumed leadership of the school in Worcester MA, where Sihing Eliot Prisby began his Kung Fu training in 2009. Sihing Eliot received his black sash in July 2013, and with the support of Sifu Gary, Sifu Sara, and Sigung Maury, opened Metrowest Kung Fu in 2015.
