Project Onipa A Foundation, Inc. is a Nonprofit Corporation established in June of 2012 by Jonathan Testa & Tara Lines. The project was launched in honor of Jason (Jonathan’s brother) who is a survivor of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.

We provide awareness and support to patients and families faced with diseases of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex & Cancer.

Onipa A is a Hawaiian term meaning Stay Strong & Never Let Go. The name supports Jason’s enjoyment and love to wear Hawaiian themed shirts year round.

The ultimate goals of Project Onipa A are to generate funding to provide services, treatment, activities, & events for patients and families impacted by the diseases TSC & Cancer while raising awareness in the surrounding communities.

The colors Blue (TSC) and Purple (general Cancer) represent awareness for each disease.

Jonathan and Jason: A Brother’s Story of Hope, Faith and Courage

My name is Jonathan Testa. I was born on October 17, 1979. I was the only child in our home until August 23, 1982, the day my brother Jason was born.

Right from his birth, Jason had a lot of complications. He became very sick and his doctors were unsure what was wrong with him. Then, when he was just two months old, he was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis complex. Soon tumors began developing throughout his body, including four in his brain, one on each of his lungs, and others in his heart, liver, kidneys and right eye. He was unable to move on his own. It was a very difficult time for our whole family.

As a little boy, I did not know the difference between Jason and me. What I did know was that my family had no time for me in the beginning stages of Jason’s TSC.
