Serene Scape Day Spa & Salon

I stopped by to get my hair cut as a walk in and was very happy with the haircut and how quickly they took me in. I was also there previously for a massage with Mia which was awesome! I was so relaxed I had to go home and take a nap.

I was looking for somewhere in the area to get a massage. They were able to accommodate the date/​time I needed so I booked. It was the worst massage I’ve ever had. Being new to the salon, the masseuse tried talking to me during the massage. I was there to relax not have small talk. On top of that the small talk consisted of her breaking up with her boyfriend and how she didn’t even want to go into work the day of my massage but «she had to do what she had to do». That is the last thing I want to hear during my relaxation time. I know I have some trouble areas but the massage itself was painful. If the person wasn’t standing there the whole time at checkout I would have complained on the spot. Definitely not worth the money and tip she received. Very disappointed and not going back there again!

I went to this Spa with high expectations. The place is clean as compared to other salons that I’ve been to. The receptionist was very friendly and so was the stylist. Nevertheless I am very disappointed with the hair cut itself. I had a picture of the cut that I wanted but the stylist took a quick one second glance of it and rushed through my cut. The result was no where close to what I wanted, and mind you I have nice thick hair which is not that difficult to style. In the end my hair is longer on one side than the other and there is a bunch of hair that is short in the back. I don’t cut my hair often so it is very disappointing when I don’t get the results I want. Not to mention $ 40 for simple layers. Will not be going there again.

Serene Scape is great for hair and nails. I love this place. And I have a high bar!
HAIR: Karen, the owner, is extremely talented. For me, the sign of a good haircut is whether it looks great when I dry my hair myself and at the end of the month. My haircuts from Karen are so good that when I dry my hair myself — — and I’m not good at it — — it comes out looking great, and even at the end of the month, my hair looks so good someone will inevitably say to me «I love your hair.» Just as I need a haircut! Karen is also an outstanding colorist. She will find the perfect color for your skin tone. You’ll look like a million bucks. Even though you’ll pay less than you would in Boston (believe me, I used to go to Newbury Street; Karen is better than anyone I ever went to, even on Newbury St with its fancy prices.)
One of the other things I think is great is Karen’s commitment to her own professional growth. She regularly attends the «hair show» and comes back with new ideas.
Karen also understands what you mean when you say things like, «I like it «piece» and «don’t make it like a cap.» She is also efficient. She has a good sense of timing and doesn’t waste your time (which I appreciate). When you’re in her chair, you’re in her chair. So if you want a great haircut and color, this is the place for you.
NAILS: Eva is a wonderful manicurist. People always comment on my nails. They think I go more often than I actually do, but that’s because Eva does a great job and it just looks like I go more often! She is a wonder with the emery board and also with the little pointy thing, like if your nail or toe nail is bothering you, she’ll figure it out. Her station and pedicure station is very clean and she always sanitizes everything metal (and throws out the wood sticks after one use on a client.) She is very professional and really knows a lot about a lot of things, home remedies and stuff like that. This all makes for a good and healthy experience and you’ll probably learn something new when you talk to her! She is meticulous — she even puts on reading glasses to make sure she gets every nook and cranny. Eva gives a great pedicure. Your toenails will look and feel fantastic.
One last word — I have to say that Linda, the receptionist, is terrific. She gets all the appointments right and is efficient at the desk. When you’re at the desk, you have her full attention. But beyond that, she’s the nicest woman — she makes you feel when you go to the desk like you are important and the salon is glad you’re there. She has a real gift for hospitality. The fact that Linda is at the front desk to me shows that Karen cares about her customers.

I recently went to Serene Scape after finding that my last salon in Boston did not offer perms. I got Karen, the owner, and was at first very pleased with the end result. However, I went back yesterday to get a follow up trim and liven up the curl, but was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism. She was more concerned with her kids after school activities, picking up her phone during my appt, and worrying about other stylists mis-​scheduled appts. She never really paid much attention to what she was doing and consequently did not cut both sides of my hair the same length. With short hair… it is very obvious! And to add to it… I was charged $ 50 for a wash and bad cut… she didn’t even need to blow dry or style it. Sorry… but I will not be going back!

I tried this place out and got Karen, the owner. I was thrilled that she was able to cut and style my fine thin hair into something that resembled full with body, and even brought out all my natural curl! This, because my hair has a tendency to lie flat and lifeless if given half a chance, is really saying something. Better yet, the cut and blowdry took only a half hour and cost $ 45. So much better than the $ 70 I’d pay in Boston for the same thing. I’ve been back several times since and have been very pleased. I’m definitely becoming a regular. So glad I tried this place out!

I am very picky about hair cuts I usually go a long time with out one, I’ve had some bad experiences. I was in desperate need of one and tried Serene Scape. Erin cut and styled my hair and this was the first time in my life that I can remember that I haven’t had to play with it or fix it to be happy. She did an amazing job and the salon was beautiful. I am very impressed and will be back!

Janis has been my hair dresser for ten years. I followed her to Serene Scape. She does a great job on my hair. I get compliments all the time on my cut. She is equally good with my 14 year old son, and he will only have her cut his hair.

Serene-​Scape Day Spa has fabulous services and a friendly skilled staff. Their skin care line and hair products are great. I highly recommend Serene-​Scape and all of the services they offer!

Wonderful service, great price, nice staff. First time here on a spawish certificate, and certainly will be back. Although I love my hairdressers at Solomon’s Dellaria, I just can’t be shelling out $ 150 for color, cut and blow dry 4 – 6 times a year. Who can in this economy? If you are a Golds Gym member, you will always get 10% off, and they offer full spa services. Looking forward to my next cut, and trying perhaps the massages! Clean place, nice people. Great find!

I have been to SereneScape several times now. I used to go into Boston for spa treatments, but the quality (and price!) at SereneScape can’t be beat. So I see no need to drive all the way to Boston any more. Fantastic facials (ask for Ellen), pedicures, and hair styling (ask for Karen or Monica). I confess, I was reluctant to try a spa in Marlboro at first – I guess I always think of suburban spas as not so great – but I love this place.
