My stylist, Kelli Kane at Roc’s Hair Salon in Marlborough, MA is the best hair dresser I have ever had!
She is an extremely talented and gifted hair stylist. She has a professional and courteous demeanor. She is always flexible with scheduling in order to meet my needs.
I highly recommend Kelli for anyone looking for someone to give a flattering, affordable cut and/​or color.
Roc’s Hair Salon is by far the best salon in the MetroWest area. All of the staff are delightful and the prices are very affordable.

I must say that Steve at Roc’s has been the most skilled barber I have ever had, and I’ve had many. He simply knows how to cut hair. If you’re a man in need of a clean looking haircut, call Roc’s and ask for Steve. Steve Roc (k)s!

I’ve been going to Cheryl for almost a year now. I’m in love with what she does to my hair! I get foils every time and every time I go in, she knows exactly what I’m talking about because she listens to what I say. It comes out great every time! I fully trust her skills. Which takes a lot because like I said I get foils and I’m extremely picky about how the Blonde comes out.
The price is a great bonus! With a generous (more than 20%) tip, I still pay under $ 150!!!
I have also gotten my eyebrows waxed by Cheryl… again, she listens, so they come out perfect! exactly how I want them. :)

I moved to Marlborough in April and heard raving reviews about Roc’s. I made an appointment to get a wash, cut and blow dry. I had a stylist named Kellie M. I will say she was excellent and I have gone to her about every six weeks and sometimes if I am going out. The salon is a full service salon and everyone is so friendly! Unlike salons I used to go to in Framingham.
Prices are very reasonable and location is fabulous… I have no idea how many stylists they have however the place is huge… Go and find out for yourself… I am sure you will be as pleased as I am…

My first visit to Roc’s was two months ago. I hadn’t had a proper cut and color in several months, following a bad experience at another Marlborough salon. I called to make an appointment and Bobby, the owner, told me to come right in the next evening and they would take care of me.
Upon arriving, I met Bobby and he introduced me to the stylist, Debbie. Debbie listened to what I was looking for and gave me a basic trim and did a beautiful job on the color.
After a not so great experience at another salon, I will definitely be returning to Roc’s for my future hair care needs!

When I was looking for a place to get my hair done on a Saturday morning, all of my regular places were booked solid. Being a mixed race lady I am hesitant to go to an all white salon, so I called ahead to make sure they have experience with my very curly beautiful hair. The woman who helped me on the phone was very nice and assured me they have stylists with ethnic hair experience, and told me to come in. When I arrived the owner showed me where to go and the woman (who I really don’t want to name, because I think she was given a shitty hand in the first place, since she obviously did not have experience with mixed hair) asked me what I’d like to be done. I told her and she insisted that I needed a conditioning treatment (which I did not, my hair very soft and I use different oils and conditioners every day). All I wanted was a blow dry to make it straight. To make a long story short she did an awful job. My hair was frizzy, wild and dry. Not to mention while she insisted on using a curling iron (to straighten my hair!!!) she gave me an awful burn that hurt for three days after and gave me a blister on my ear. I told her how to blow dry my hair, using a big barrel brush you start at the root and pull hard while you are using the blow dryer and bring it down to the tip. She thought it would be better if she blow dried it like you do with white hair, not pulling hard and just barely putting heat on it. Doing mixed hair is much different that what she is use to, so I gave her a good tip, but I will not be returning. My favorite salon in the Marlborough area is a Hispanic/​Brazillian salon on Lincoln St called Bella Hair design. I would not recommend going here if you are black/​mixed race.

Went with the BFF because this is where she goes with her son, so I knew she had Andrea and I soo wanted to have Andrea, but she wasnt there…
So my son is new to haircuts & lets just say not the best cooperator when it comes to hair cuts and as expected screamed the whole time… I get that he was bad & she did as good as she could have, but she wasnt overly nice… Im not acting like she had to coddle & baby him but maybe try to pacify him some…
I took a shot, but I guess its back to Snip Its we go so he can eat Lolli-​pops and be distracted!

I’ve gone to Roc’s many times over the past 5 or 6 years. My cuts and colors have always been decent, but never above average. The owner, Bobby, is fantastic and personable; however I am a little disappointed in him after my last appointment.
I went to Roc’s to have my hair color FIXED after attempting an at-​home highlight kit. My hair looked OK, but needed some blending. I was sent to a senior stylist, Marsha, who I told I didn’t care what we had to do to fix my hair, so long as it looked more natural.
She chose to add more highlights to the mix, as opposed to dying my hair one all-​over color. I was fine with this choice until I realized how little she knew about color. Seriously the woman, while extremely nice!, has not taken a color class since 1980.
She used straight bleach (no toner) on my hair to create thick, sporadic yellow highlights. Additionally, these highlights started a good half inch from my head, giving me instant roots. It was honestly the worse dye job I have ever had and looked 100x better before I got it «fixed.»
She also left my foils in for too long, when finally checking them she gasped in horror realizing how quickly my hair takes color. A hairdresser should know to watch their foils as not to over process the hair or lift the color too much. I was left with extremely dehydrated, course, yellow locks. Heinous. Several hairdressers and the owner, Bobby, saw this monstrosity as I left and said it looked nice. It did not look nice.
I went back several days later to have her fix it. Thankfully she consulted another hairdresser about what color/​toner to use. It looks OK now, color wise, but the damage done with bleach forced me to get 3 inches cut off my hair.
I’d say it all depends on who you go to at Roc’s. Some stylists are clearly more qualified than others. Some are crazy outdated and desperately need to take courses in cutting, color, and even blow drying.
Like I said I’ve gone to Roc’s off and on for YEARS, but this was the last straw. Never again.

I walked in and was a bit suspicious of the rave Unilocal reviews. (Note, don’t judge a book by it’s cover!). I was a bit early so took a seat in the waiting area. The owner came over and introducted himself, asked what I wanted done and then introduced me to my stylist. Seriously? I’ve had my hair cut on Newbury Street and never received more than a glance by anybody else. I was having a one process color and cut. Marcia asked me what color i was look for, reviewed some choices because was a blend of several kinds of browns. Chatted about what I wanted as far as a hair cut. I have thick, fine hair with a natural wave. I absolutely cannot stand a lot of product. These really don’t mix. Finally a low maintence cut that doesn’t scream ‘lazy’ and a great color.
Look, this isn’t a shi-​shi spa with a coffee bar. if you want a great hair cut, at a great price, this is the place for you. they’ve been in business for over 20 years for a reason. the do a great job with a wide variety of clients. i’ll be back.
the only downside is that it’s cash /​check only.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here since I moved to Marlborough 8 years ago. Have had a few opportunities for other services– pedicure and facial — and happy with everything. Pretty much a one stop place for all of your grooming needs. Highly recommended long serving business for the Marlborough area.

I just started coming here a couple months ago. I have loved my hair both times I went in. Celeste does an amazing job and everyone in the salon is so nice. The first time I came in a had a relaxed updo which came out awesome and my curls lasted from 1pm until I went to bed at 1am! The second time I got a cut, color, and eye brow wax. The next day at work everyone loved my hair and couldn’t get over how awesome it looked!
I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable! And I highly recommend Celeste!

Five stars for the massage therapist.
I called last minute (like I always do) and she had an opening. (Yay) I should know better than expect something last minute because I’m a therapist myself.
Susan is absolutely wonderful! She worked everything that needed to be worked on, and is very thorough. From experience, it’s very hard to find a great massage therapist. But if you go to Susan, you won’t be disappointed.

Super nice and gave a trim to my 4 yr old — 8 dollars. True, when you step in you are not sure if you are in a barber shop or who to check in with, but folks are right there and quickly get you settled.
