New name is Monarch Inn… Was or is a Super 8… Apparently they are renovating it but it is not enough… + the size of the room was good; + it was pretty clean; + it is approx 1hour from the park entrance; + walking distance from restaurant; BUT!!! — Elevator has an inspection sticker valid till 2011. — Flush was not working properly(had to open it to make it work every other time). — Toilet paper not«refill» by cleaning lady. — No seat in the room. — We booked a room with 2 queen beds. On the website we couldn’t book for more than 2 people(but the description said«great for 4 people») so we booked for 2 and in the comment box wrote that we’ll be 4. When we arrived we were obviously 4 in front of the reception desk… no pb… later, we asked to another person at the reception desk to have 2 additional towels and she looked at us very badly and basically accused us to have booked for 2 people to avoid paying additional fee or I don’t know what!!! Awful, what a behavior with a customer!!! — Food dispensers empty. — Swimming pool could be cleaner… but size ok. — Breakfast was ok… but not for this price… — Trash completely full on the parking lot. Anyway, this is a one star max for the behavior of the woman at the reception desk… Let’s say that it is completely overpriced… too bad, they seem to try to make it better, I would have liked to give them a good review…

We would like to also note this should be a minus star. Things have not improved now that I have read other reviews. Wish I had used Unilocal before booking this thru Wyndham Rewards. This was not a pleasant stay. We arrived at 9pm. the first room we were sent to was not cleaned from the previous guest. There were dirty marks on all the hall walls, light switches, and doors. Several gum like stains on the room carpet. Vomit in the stairwell. I would say the staff sits on their ass doing nothing while their facility rots!!! Tom

I wish I could give it no stars. I stayed here Thanksgiving weekend of 2011. When we got here our rooms were not ready. Had to wait an extra hour after they told us. We went through several key cards because after a certain time they did not work. The doors had to be slammed shut. So all through the night you would hear it. They said there is a breakfast. Its a container of stale cereal, and the milk was over a month expired. We were there on the 26th of november. The picture I took of the date on the milk was november 2nd2011. It was disgusting. Will never stay there again.

Me and my parents went to Mariposa’s Super 8 for 2 nights. Both rooms wasn’t cleaned after one night(2 rooms, it can’t be just a mistake), the breakfast was supposed to be finish at 9:30 but everything was empty at 9… I won’t recommend this hotel!

I booked this motel on the internet for my husband and 2 boys(one boy is 18) reserved non smoking and 2 beds. Upon arrival they told my husband he had reserved a king room. He did not go to the car and get the confirmation paper because it was late and they just wanted to get into the room. The room was a smoking room, smelled disgusting from the outside. They had no non smoking room available and then charged him $ 10 for a roll a way bed.(if I were there, I would have been pretty demanding) The sheets had pubic hairs on the pillows and bed. GROSS!!! When my husband asked for new sheets the guy said that the sheets were clean because he had the paper showing the maid had checked off. My husband had to tell him that he did not care what the paper said, the sheets were dirty. Anyway, the photos showed a beautiful clean pool, and instead it was greenish brown, filled with leaves and debris. Looked like maybe a beaver was living in it. The only reason I give this a star at all, is because they were able to move to a non smoking for the second night.

This is not a 5-star resort, nonetheless provides you with the basic things to rest and clean yourself after Yosemite. I stayed with my sister over the weekend for a night and things went well. The hotel is located 30+ miles from the west and south entrances If you want to be closer to Yosemite you might consider staying elsewhere. However in the 2 days we had we went on both entrances given that are at almost the same distance. I call them the day before, made my reservation and my room was ready right when they told me to. If you plan to spend more time at the hotel that enjoying Yosemites surroundings then, this is not the place for you. Other than that you are going to be fine.

Take that as a negative one star. Horrible. There are other cheap choices around, pay the extra ten dollars… do yourself a favor. It appeared that someone was smoking cigarettes in the hallway all night long, the towels had stains as in they weren’t clean and there were random little blood stains in the bathroom sink(alongside the toothpaste gunk from the previous guest). I’m cheap with hotels, but not cleanliness. Find another pillow to lay your head on.
