Good atmosphere and vibe. Very loud when crowded. Nice colors and renovations. Very small food and beverage menu. Good prices. Service is extremely slow and waiters tend to forget items previously ordered. Waited over an hour(after making a reservation) for appetizers and meals. Limited parking. Not good for young kids.

First of all, they were out of their house wine. The only other chardonnay by the glass was $ 14. My friend ordered it, not really looking at the price since she thought it would be around the same price as the house wine. Who gives out of their house wine? Anyway, the waiter did not tell her it cost twice as much as house wine, but he did apologize later. He still charged her full price, tho. We sat way in the back where we always sat at the old PMG. Very cold. But we like the tables and ambiance. Lots of openness. We think they could invest in some heaters. Shrimp & grits were ok, kinda blah, Grouper-ok nothing spectacular, and a little dry, PMG burger-good. Good selection of beer. «Happiness in a jar» dessert was great. We did have attentive service. And the hostess was friendly.

Went to PMG tonight to meet some friends and when we sat down at the bar the bartender insulted the whole group of 8 to the point that we all walked out. That group of people will never go back there again because of Stephen. Most rude bartender I have ever met.

Last night was our second time since the new owners rook over. We were there the first week thinking with the traffic the old paper mill grill that the new owners would want to retain that business, not so. Last night we gave it another shot. It does not measure up to the old paper mill grill. No comparison in menus; small servings; pricy; poor service; flavor of food nothing to brag about. That was our last trip. There are too many other better w in the area.

New Year’s Day brunch. What began as an exciting adventure to continue the great eats from the night before, was more like the calm after an exciting roller coaster ride. The four of us dined for New Year’s Day brunch. We were greeted with a bowl of greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. What a great start! I had the spinach, mushroom and cheese omelet. Others had the Belgian waffle the French toast and the frittata. Of all the dishes the French toast received 5 stars! Everything else left a bit to be desired. No comp refill on the coffee which was like warm. The hashbrowns were really cubed potatoes that were over cooked. The service was good despite forgetting to bring the milk when the goodie in the jar was ordered. The server acknowledged the miss but It was still on the bill; once it was brought to his attention the adjustment was made. One guest ordered scrambled eggs fried hard and they came out a bit runny but we did not send back. Good atmosphere. Pricing was a tad high but learning more about the area, I understand why… the and food was ok. All in all we give it three stars.

Truly poor experience. I am really kicking myself for not calling back and canceling(which I’d considered) after the person with whom I spoke to make our NYD brunch reservation was curt on the phone. Only chose this place because it was rec’d by Zagat for the occasion — really wish I’d gone with Eater Atlanta recs(St. Cecilia, General Muir), which notably did not include this place. Really dashed my hopes for a special occasion. Eggs Benedict is my fave, and this one was served with fried eggs instead of poached.(I even looked up the brunch menu online again after I received it, and indeed it says it comes with a poached egg.) The«smoked ham» also looked like what you get in a pack of pre-packaged lunch meat from the grocery store; I took a photo, but not sure if I’ll be able to post it here. It looks nothing like the beautiful photos you see here! My husband was also deeply disappointed with his fish & chips, which he also received the large($ 17) order of, despite making very sure he was clear he wanted the small/cheaper order.(The waiter even repeated it back!) When it was delivered, he said(this was a bus boy I guess, not our waiter), «Wow! That’s the small order? How big is the large one?» and the guy just laughed awkwardly and went on his way. Also I tried his fries and we both agreed they were poor. Our waiter Steve also disappeared completely after we’d finished our food, & my husband eventually had to go ask another staff person for the check & to pay. Steve seemed like perhaps he was hungover-? That’s actually less upsetting than if he’s always that way. We drove 30 mins each way(from intown) due to the Zagat rec, &DEEPLY regret it. Really sad to have wasted a special occasion outing on this place.

We had lunch and ordered the cheeseburger which came with no sides and cost over 9.00 $. It was greasy, so much that I used my napkin to soak up the grease. My friend ordered the Greek salad which was a bit of greens with a few olives and a sprinkle of feta cheese. With 2 draft beers, burger with no sides and a Greek salad, the bill was 34.00 $. Not worth it. This was the second time there since the new opening and the last time

Excellent dinner for Restaurant Week! We had the salmon with Swedish Pancakes. Wow! So good. The apps were great and we are getting ready to enjoy our sublime desserts. The service was impeccable. Everything was done to perfection. The salmon was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cooked exactly right. Those pancakes could make ya slap ya mama! We will definitely be back.

Went there tonight for dinner with my son. We are sort of foodies and eat out quite often. We had been to PMG several times before but this was our first time there since the new owner/manager took over. Well the food was pretty bad bordering on awful. Everything is drenched in siracha making even the simplest dish such as meatloaf an inferno for one’s mouth. Neither my son nor myself could eat the meatloaf and we wound up sending it back. Prior to that we sent back the Caesar salad as the dressing was chock full of vinegar and had a weird tasting tang to it, something I have never before experienced with Caesar salad. Our waiter was nice and had both dishes removed from our check but the manager never came over once to apologize for our experience or to offer to buy us a drink or dessert. I found this extremely odd as we were one of only about 3 or 4 tables that were taken so the place was basically empty. Bad food coupled with bad management means no return trip.

Went to the new Paper Mill Grill and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wait staff was great, atmosphere pleasant, and meal was delicious. Price was same as previous PMG. Went early Friday evening and muscian was warmig up. We finished our meal before he started and would have loved to stay bit already had other plans. Would definitely go again.

Went on a date with my best friend and was blown away by the lovely atmosphere and live music! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was great too. The prices were a BIT higher than I would like but that’s just me and my budget. Will def bring my boyfriend for a romantic date sometime!

So this place really is rubbing me off the wrong way a bit. Pros: the place is very well decorated with lots of seatings, full bar, small dancing area, and a stage for a small band. The scene is definatly for more of dressy dinning. Cons: my husband and I came here total of two times. The first time we were next door getting Moxie burger, and just decided to stop by and check the place out. I had just gotten off work, and didn’t really dress up or anything because we were just gonna go get a burger, no make up, a tank top. We walked in, I felt like I was a little under dressed as the environment is a little dressy. I walked up to the bar, the lady bar tender ignored me for a total of 20 min!!! Every time she walked by, she eyed me up and down hinting what I was thinking wearing what I wore and looking like that… lol… So I finally got to order with«her highness», she loudly asked for my ID in a very condescending tone, and for some reason she just kept on repeating what my order was!!! I mean, I guess she didn’t think I could afford a couple of scotch on the rocks for my husband and I… LOL… The man next to me made a joke, and said«well, I guess you barely looked like you are 21, and she’s just jealous…»… Anyways… I mean the lady bar tender herself was looking like straight out of the 80s mags… Second time we decided to skip the bar because of the obvious reasons the first visit. We dressed properly(thankfully) and sat down at the table. Let’s just say that the food was all so average I could barely remember what I had!!! Lol… Nothing was good enough that we have to go back for. I don’t know, like I said this place just rubs me off the wrong way, a little superficial is all I can say. I guess we didn’t look as rich as they wanted us to be to fit in with rest of the crowd, but cmon, if the food was any better I would had considered wearing my prom dress the next time, but no thanks.

Really enjoyed this restaurant for a birthday dinner last night. We had a big, hard-to-handle group, and they provided a great experience for my family. Great food. Really nice people manning the floor. I’m glad to see that the new PMG has improved on this location, which was such an asset to the community before. I live in the area, and I look forward to many happy returns. Welcome back!

So welcoming new mgmt for the new pmg. Just hit the bar this time, but excellent staff and the crowd has turned for the positive. Bar improved in terms of appearance, but also better beer and wine selection. If you like mixed drinks, ask for Ariana, and for beers Matt is your guy. Enjoy, Acpontango

I have been looking forward to eating at PMG2.0 and last night we made the trip down Johnson Ferry for an early supper and to check out what Eric O was up to. We had eaten there many times before the change-over and it was always just«OK.» This experience proved to be MUCH better. I had seen the post for the English(Smashy) Pea and Ham Bruschetta – did not disappoint. Not for everyone, but it beat my expectations. We also ordered the Panko Fried Brie with the Jumbleberry Jam. Again, another good plate, but the«Croutons» or crostini that were served with the Brie were so dry and hard that we had to ask for more of the crackers that were served with a dip when we were seated. I’m thinking it would be great on just freshly sliced French bread or ciabatta. Some work to do there… My wife ordered the House Roasted Turkey Sandwich and a side salad – good, standard, but nothing unique. I ordered the Southern Plate – Deviled Eggs, PMG pickles(veggies), Pimento Cheese, Pork Rinds – all bites were great! I will return just for this appetizer… however, this plate included this pile of those long hard pretzel sticks(!!!). Totally not necessary and did not fit the Southern theme of the plate, not sure what they were for? Will order that plate again for sure, but will ask them to leave those pretzel sticks off – hopefully they will have replaced it or justify them with a house made mustard or dip. As noted in other reviews, the wait staff was courteous, attentive, but at times awkward and a little inexperienced. We also had to ask about the plate of Spicy Dip and Crackers that came with our waters. LOVE this dip and I think it was a cream cheese, horseradish, sour cream and sriracha or hot sauce blend – the waitstaff was unsure what all was in it when asked. It was really tasty and a nice surprise. Thanks Eric and team for a nice meal and congratulations on the long overdue upgrade at the Paper Mill Grill. See you all again soon!

I am republishing from the last location. Not sure why they are getting bumped around so much?! Recommended by a friend, my wife and I checked it out for lunch. We had the burger and the fish and chips… The BURGERISSUBLIME! Fresh yeasty bun. Double patty cheese burger with awesome toppings. It will haunt you. A perfect symphony. The fish and chips are light and crispy with big, moist chunks of cod. Yum, yum, yum.

Ate there last night with friends. When the waitress says everything is good, believe her. Everything was better than good. The small plates were amazing. Next time I think we will just eat small plates and be amazed. Nice to have another restaurant of this quality in E. Cobb.

The Fried Brie with jumbleberry jam is wonderful! The burger is satisfying and deliciously juicy. And the English Pea Bruschetta with cured ham, aged goat cheese and mint was a complete delight to the tastebuds! I’ll be back!

Just to set the appropriate context, anybody pining for the old paper mill grill should be happy to know that there is still a Chilis nearby. Portions are ample, fwiw. That being said, this will be interesting to see what this place decides to be. Boring place catering to old paper mill grill customers, or an interesting restaurant on par with seed, stem, and common quarter. Went tonight, and the initial verdict is a conservative menu catering to an older crowd. I’m hopeful they’re in the feel out phase, but we won’t go back until the menu changes. With the old chef from Leon’s, I was more hopeful. A few observations: — If you’re going to promote a good beer menu, have some more interesting selections. Decent mix of local stuff, but nothing that I couldn’t stock in my fridge. I enjoyed the tropicalia, but I can get regularly. — wifey enjoyed the watermelon fizz cocktail. — we generally try to order the most interesting things on the menu, regardless of appetizer/entrée, etc. problem is that nothing jumped off the menu. — we ordered the pea bruschetta(very good), the bacon and blue cheese(pretty basic), chilled shrimp(heavy handed with the sauce), and the Korean wings(we never order wings, that’s how safe the menu is). — the pea bruschetta was good. Interesting concept and well done. Everything else I could imagine and make at home. It tasted fine, but I wouldn’t order it again. — no specials. Bit of a red flag. — kids entrees are $ 6 each. Seemed fine. Kids ate the burger and fish and chips. — service was good. Space was cool, but is loud — didn’t bother us. Overall, I’d wait and see what happens. We disliked our first few common quarter trips but that place found its groove. I hope it takes some cues from the other good restaurants that have opened in east cobb over the past few years.
