Chrysler Jeep of Essex

Worst car dealership experience I have ever had. I was almost to the point of calling the BBB to report how terrible their dealership is.
I had seen an ad on Autotrader for a used car they had, so I took the trip out there to check it out and walked out with a new car. And that’s when the problems began. I was given temp plates like every new car and was told that the title would be mailed to me shortly so that I could take care of my own license plates & registration process. One time when I called, they gave me a number to call (supposedly to the DMV) to inquire about what was taking my title so long. I was put on hold for 10 minutes by some girl who then picked up and hung up on me. When I called back infuriated, I was greeted with the standard cell phone voice mail that you get when someone hasn’t set up their voicemail. So I’m led to believe it couldn’t have been the DMV.
Three or four weeks went by and I received nothing and by that time, the temp plate they gave me (that flimsy piece of paper), had expired. Just my luck that I got rear ended the day after it was expired and the cop wouldn’t let me drive my car. I had received a sheet of paper from the dealership that they told me to show any cop if I happened to be pulled over that they were in the process of getting my plates & registration.
I don’t know if they were stupid enough to believe that they were above the law and that piece of paper would get me off the hook… I was told by the cop that I could not drive the car AT ALL and followed me into a cheap hotel’s parking lot (you know, the ones that charge rooms by the hour) and basically left me there to find a ride. The guys at the dealership couldn’t believe that the cop didn’t accept their paper as proof and oh yeah, did I mention the TICKET I got for having my expired plates?
Well I sure gave them a piece of my mind and they promised me to have everything next day. At least they paid for my ticket, which they very well should’ve! But no one, and I mean NO ONE should EVER use this dealer unless you’re absolutely desperate.
