Maple Shade Mazda

I bought a Mazda almost 7 years ago, and have been using this location for service ever since — more by necessity than by choice. Every single year when I bring my car in for maintenance they find at least $ 1,000 worth of work that must be done. I drive an RX-​8 and the rotary engine has caused problems at other shops, so even though I’m sure there’s other places that would be less expensive, I keep bringing my car back here.
The staff isn’t always friendly, and they don’t always call when the car is done. There’s also no drop box for leaving your keys to drop your car off at night, and they don’t open till 7:30 or 8am. Occasionally I catch a night guy who will move my car into the gated lot, but this usually just adds inconvenience.
If you can, I’d recommend going somewhere else.

This review is for the parts department. I had to order parts for a Mazda so I called them thinking they were the only Mazda dealer in town. It started off good. They told me the parts would be there by Wednesday because they had to be ordered (I ordered them on a Friday) and they would let me know when the parts came in. Come Wednesday when I still did not hear from them I decided to give them a call. The gentleman on the phone (Different then the first person I talked to) continued to tell me that the parts were never ordered because they were never pre-​paid for. What!!! The guys never told me they had to be pre-​paid for. Don’t you think that was something they would have told you when you ordered them, not a week later when you call to follow up with the parts. So I called another Mazda dealer (Pacifico). They told me they could have all of the parts next day (Not a week later) and they were significantly cheaper. Oh ya, I didn’t have to prepay for them. These guys were a waste to time and I would advise to anyone that is thinking about buying parts from them that you can get it somewhere else for less money and quicker.

So after scurrying around from real dealership to real sleazy dealership I, by chance, drove a Mazda 3 for about 300 miles over a long vacation weekend and wanted one immediately thereafter.
I looked around for Mazda dealerships and saw that Maple Shade Mazda had exactly what I want. I don’t have the best credit, but their sales manager Mark and Larry my sales associate worked together to help get me a deal that was within my budget. Low key and low stress, and good small talk along the way.
Don’t get me wrong, car buying is like getting teeth pulled… and if you haven’t been there than trust me when I say that buying a car sucks way more cause you don’t get nitrous oxide. My experience with Maple Shade Mazda, however, was without most of of that.
Only about 4 hours on a Saturday to finance. Great used model in good mechanical condition, all original manuals materials provided. Drove out same day and the car runs great.

You don’t go to a car dealership expecting a party, but you also don’t expect an experience this awful!
We showed up with a car picked out– we knew exactly what we needed, and had confirmed via the website that the model and color were in stock. The sales guy who «helped» us knew less about the dealership specials than we did, and didn’t bother initiating small talk during the test drive– which made it REALLY awkward.
Not to mention, he was condescending to me (as a girl) and kept deferring to my boyfriend for anything financial– even though the car would be listed in my name. We were told the color we wanted was not in stock, and trading for it from their sister dealership would be an additional cost. Not sure why a discrepancy on THEIR website should result in cost to US…
We were basically made to feel uncomfortable throughout the whole process, as if we were being difficult by knowing what we wanted and not settling for less. They made no effort to compromise on the price even though there were no other customers in the (sadly outdated) office.
In the end, he told us he would call in a few hours to let us know about pricing options, and we never heard back. Super insulting and un-​professional.
To sum up, we went to Pacifico Mazda that same day and leased the exact car we wanted– friendly staff and better financing options. Avoid Maple Shade if you can!

Went to this dealership to see a specific car that was listed as «in stock» in their online inventory. We drove about 45 minutes in the rain. When we got there, they told us that the car was not in stock, and actually would not be for six more weeks. When we objected to the online listing of a car that was not actually in stock, the sales associate smirked and told us we should have called first. My husband and I walked out, only to have the sales associate chase us out and say, «We’ll make you a great deal if you come back in!»
We went back through the rain, only to be told that they thought we were looking for a completely different Mazda model. When we reminded them which car we were interested in, they quoted us a price. We looked up the price when we got home, and it wasn’t remotely competitive.
I would recommend that you look elsewhere if you’re in the market for a Mazda.

As promised, I wanted to give an update once I got the Sirius installed and the plates and was all «official».
So far, so good. The service department is speedy and they’re all really kind and easy to deal with. I dropped off my car to have the Sirius installed and they gave me a loaner (the biggest SUV they had) that I could use in the meantime. The installation took one work day and I had my car back by the end of the day. With more tunes. The wiring was done really seamlessly and everything sounds and looks good overall.
Another plus is that every now and then, Dan checks on me. He checked on me yesterday, in fact! He called and asked if I was still enjoying my Mazda 3 and if it had taken me on any trips. I thought that was very cute, and really accurate, if you think about it. We technically drive the car, but the car really does take us! He isn’t annoyingly calling me every week (though he did ask me yesterday if I knew of any family members or friends who were «in need of a car and wanted to be part of the Zoom Zoom Family»)
In short, I’m still quite happy. Would strongly recommend Maple Shade Mazda to anyone.

My husband and I went to this dealership ready to buy that day (either a Mazda 3 or another model car from a different manufacturer). It started off alright, we had a nice salesman who, upon entering the building, promised that this dealership was «not like the others» and had a «no pressure» environment. Sounds good, right? After our test drive, we were offered cookies by who I assume was the sales manager, who did not offer his title outright. We didn’t particularly enjoy the test drive, but we were on the fence – no matter what, we were still going to test drive the other car we had researched that day. That’s when all the fun started. We sat down with the original sales guy and the cookie-​toting manager (Ryan?) came over after the initial pressure began to set in. They began to play out like a movie – good cop/​bad cop. Sales guy plays as if he’s just getting pressure from his boss for a commitment, boss gives you every hardcore sales line in the book. We restated our need for research. «Come back tonight. Give me your phone number, your social security number. If you leave right now, we won’t give you a deal. Make an appointment now. What price do we have to stoop to for you to make the sale right now? Look. You need to make this deal now.» That was irritating at best, but what got us was he physically cornered us into our seats. Instead of the chairs facing the sales guy’s desk, they were pressed against the wall with the manager getting closer and closer to back us in. We left feeling completely gross. No means no, guys. We bought a new car that day, just not from them. Beware the stereotypically nauseating car buying experience from them and look elsewhere.

Bought my first car here, it was a decent experience, didn’t regret the car. Thought I’d at least look 7 years later, and got one of the most laughable sales experiences of my life. It was as if these guys were stuck watching continuous loops of «Boiler Room», «Glengarry Glen Ross», and «The Goods».
I was insulted by the end, and walked out deciding i wouldn’t ever do business there again. So there’s that.

Soooooo… I was looking for a new car. The first dealership I pulled into was Maple Shade Mazda.
I have to say that buying a car is never really a «pleasant» adventure. However, I do have to say that my sales associate, Ryan, really did a fantastic job working with our need and budget. He wasn’t the typical pushy salesman and was very friendly. He spent a lot of time with us that day even though we didn’t end up purchasing a car– that day anyway.
After purchasing my car, Ryan was very responsive with the follow up calls and making sure that I received my official paperwork the second it got there.
I would certainly recommend that you go see Ryan — he’s super!
I DO have to say on a side note, and the reason I gave only three stars rather than five, is that a month later my engine light came on and I had to take my car in for service! I can only suspect that this used car had a bit of an issue prior to me purchasing it and perhaps the light was reset? But that’s only my speculation. However, on the UP side– their service department rocks! They are very friendly and patient. They also gave me a loaner car, which I thought was VERY convenient (but it only had a quarter tank of gas! had to fill up to get back to Philly!!!)
All around I’d say, THUMBS UP Maple Shade!!! :)
